Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Successfully manage endpoint security and compliance while facing integration challenges
I have not come across any difficulties. I integrated it with ILMT (IBM License Metric Tool). It lets us identify all software being used in my organization with BigFix. It provides input of all types of software being used, including details and information about hardware specifications. I am more involved in software licensing and procurement, so I utilize this tool for procuring more licenses if needed for our company. After integration, we get different dashboards showcasing our IBM infrastructure, highlighting various issues in our environment that we can mitigate. I recommend BigFix to others. I rate BigFix a seven out of ten.

Centralized device control has increased remote security and simplified kiosk-based operations
The best features IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers include placing devices into kiosk mode, remote troubleshooting, and location tracking. Remote troubleshooting and location tracking have helped my team or my customers by enabling us to lock our company-issued tablets into kiosk mode, allowing us to resolve issues remotely and easily. It also allows location tracking so that we can lock a device or trace it when it's stolen. The user interface is very user-friendly and easy to customize. IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted my organization by enabling us to manage all our devices in one place, settle all the issues remotely through troubleshooting, and it allows the AI feature for reporting. Security analysis is also great, and for security strengthening, it allows us to deal with endpoints with integration on various types of platforms. I have been able to see measurable benefits such as getting more people on board who are working remotely, and it has enabled us the ability to access emails and chats. The system on the go is great, and the ability to run business on the go has proved to be very efficient and productive.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that we can manage workstations or Android devices remotely without needing the device to be connected to our local network."
"Stable product that's easy to set up compared to other MDM products."
"It is quite policy-enabled, so you can build pretty much any policy to manage remote endpoints."
"I would rate the overall solution as a 10."
"Easy to use."
"The ability to switch between Affinity and non-Affinity enrollment is great."
"Remote Wipe and Autopilot is one of the best features."
"I particularly appreciate the administration and security features, which can be deployed easily."
"Pre-packaged support for many third-party applications such as Adobe, Google, Mozilla, Sun (Java), WinZip, and others."
"We rely on BigFix as part of our consulting engagements. It's more efficient from a visibility and discovery standpoint on the initial phase, the consulting engagement. It also increases our efficiencies on the remediation phase of our engagements."
"It enables us to patch our systems quickly and within expectations and to increase our volume as needed. It has also helped us compress our patch sites. We used to do it monthly but now we do it weekly."
"It is pretty secure, and it gives extensive vulnerability features as compared to other applications. It supports multiple languages, and the security checks are pretty high as compared to other tools in the market."
"The most valuable feature of BigFix is the software deployment."
"DOWNLOADING-PATCHES; It has also helped to reduce network traffic when it comes to downloading patches. By only having to download the patch once to the central location and then utilizing the relay structure to then download the patch to a specific site and then everything gathering at local, it greatly reduces the bandwidth of multiple endpoints."
"The most valuable feature of BigFix is the reporting tool and patching Windows."
"Desktop patching is the most valuable feature, because with servers, we have complete control over them, and we can simply push patches to the servers."
"IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted my organization by enabling us to manage all our devices in one place, settle all the issues remotely through troubleshooting, and it allows the AI feature for reporting."

Cons

"It would be interesting to integrate the server side of Intune. Some group policy updates we have on the Windows Server side and possibly some on the client side could also be included."
"Lacks the ability to deploy more ways of management, managing devices and processing the policies."
"Sometimes, it takes time to synchronize the policies between the portal and the devices, you don't have a way to estimate how long it will take to deploy. You have some kind of gray area, where it can deploy in 30 minutes or three days."
"I rate Microsoft support between six to eight. The support often involves third parties hired by Microsoft who are knowledgeable, but sometimes the help I receive is not adequate."
"It would really be helpful to have the option to manage server operating systems as well, like Windows Server, at least. That way, we could scrap the use of SCCM, which requires a lot of on-premises infrastructure."
"Intune could add more Linux security features and more integration with on-prem devices. The application deployments can also be improved."
"When somebody has a customized application or their own company's application, we cannot deploy that application."
"Reporting could be improved. It needs to be more expensive and robust."
"Its pricing should be improved. It is too costly."
"The relevant language takes a little getting used to since it's not used anywhere else in the industry. It's just in the BigFix environment."
"The scalability of the web UI product doesn't scale to the size that we need for our implementation so it needs to expand. I would also like to see the capability to develop on the back of the web UI capability. There are lots of web features and integrations that we could do with web UI that it would be nice to be able to put on top of what's already there, rather than waiting for IBM to develop what we need."
"It could use better integration with Hypervisor products like VMware."
"I would like to see more emphasis on using the web console, to have the same power as the full fat client console that they do they now. It's a lighter way to log in and it would be faster for our operators to do their work. The console tends to take a long time for a large number of clients."
"While performing integration, we face many issues with IBM solution. We need detailed information about those issues that can help users to mitigate them."
"I would like better support on the backend."
"They don't have a proper mobile device management capability. They're working on it, however, that's the one thing that needs improvement so that you can have full unified endpoint management."
"One area IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson can be improved is that once a device is lost, I have to continue to pay for the license, which should be looked upon and configured otherwise."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's reasonable. They're not giving it away, but it's reasonable."
"Pricing depends on the features. Microsoft offers special packages if there are more than 10,000 users, and you may be able to get a reduced rate."
"Intune is cost-effective as it is included in some of the Office 365 packages."
"The pricing is good because customers are not complaining about it."
"I rate Intune an eight out of ten for affordability. It's bundled with the 365 licensing, which is competitive overall."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"The price is reasonable, but they should lower it a bit to make it more competitive. It's cheaper than AirWatch and other products, but I still feel like Microsoft can make a base version or with Exchange online or a la carte only Intune version which will be useful. A customer who doesn't want to go full-fledged E3 or E5 can take out or consume an Intune solution only for their purpose, and we want to target that customer."
"Microsoft Intune is moderately priced. There is a monthly license required to use the solution and it is approximately eight dollars per month."
"So, the pricing is slightly more expensive than the others. I have to keep buying licenses every time I add a new device."
"The license is subscription-based."
"When purchasing, buying with other IBM tools provided us with a very good discount in pricing."
"The price of BigFix is better than the solutions. You are able to pay monthly or annually. There are not any hidden costs with BigFix. There is an additional cost for the SQL database."
"Compliance, inventory, and licensing are really pricey. They should lower the price. It discourages users from getting onboard."
"The cost is slightly high."
"We have a subscription-based contract with BigFix."
"Its price is very reasonable."
