Delivers lightweight protection while facing challenges with technical aspects
I have been working with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security for quite a long time, but recently, I do not appreciate their changes, especially on the technical side. They moved some portions to remote GUI-based interfaces. The Command Line Interface (CLI) is not improving. Even experienced personnel are finding it difficult. There is a power user function where you can stop it temporarily for installing applications. Previously, we had the option to click on the power user button and enter the password to allow stopping that particular function. Now, we have to do it via CLI, which even technical personnel struggle to understand. Currently, everything is working fine except for the technical aspects we can control. If they can revert to the old system, that would be much better. When we raise this issue with Bitdefender, they cite security reasons for the change. However, while Cisco is moving away from CLI to GUI, Bitdefender is moving backward. Normal users cannot handle these CLI operations effectively.

Central console streamlines patch monitoring and device management effortlessly
WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection is good and easy to set up. I provide an installation file for every client through my domain controller and GPO, and it works properly. We have faced no incidents with viruses or network breaches, and it's easy to monitor patches. I can use remote desktop from the central console. The solution also saves my time because, being the only one handling it, I can monitor all devices easily.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use patch management to keep our software up-to-date, significantly mitigating our risk of vulnerabilities. We're confident that Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security will either already know about new threats and have updated our machines, or they'll advise us quickly on mitigating them until an update is available."
"You will always have a backup copy of any policy the Bitdefender user defines."
"It is very easy to configure and deploy."
"The solution is very scalable."
"The product is a good standard security tool."
"I like its unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email, for example. Multiple products can be standardized across endpoints or the EDR solution, and the integrations with SIEMs."
"What I appreciate most about Bitdefender are its web content filtering, blocking malicious sites, and its ability to thwart brute force attacks on open ports."
"The most valuable features of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security are remote administration and deployment, comprehensive firewall protection, malware protection, and antivirus."
"We use the product for detecting network vulnerabilities and for software update purposes."
"WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection is good and easy to set up."
"There is a layer of security to prevent a malicious agent (malware) from interrupting or stopping services, deleting or modifying registry entries or even stopping the antivirus from acting, ensuring that there will be no interruption of protection."
"Both incoming and outgoing traffic is protected."
"On the cloud management page, the solution scales up very highly."
"The notifications and patch management features are valuable."
"F-Secure is useful for keeping user machines up-to-date by pushing out security and critical updates."
"The most valuable features of WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection are the clear useful portal and overall company protection."

Cons

"The solution's stability could be better."
"There is room for improvement in CPU utilization."
"My main concern is that it's a bit heavy for some devices. Like Kaspersky or McAfee, it uses more RAM or memory. Similar to that, it causes issues for users and their own resources, similar to that. If you deploy on old legacy devices with only 1GB of RAM, then it could be a problem."
"Machines with low memory and CPU may experience slow performance."
"We had experienced a crash and had to reinstall it."
"The security features as per customers' requirements should be improved."
"The phishing feature report showed zero results, and the patch management component is one of the two main issues that need improvement."
"There are compatibility concerns as Bitdefender does not support Windows 7."
"The program and cloud service management is in English. It's not a problem for me, however, it might be for users who don't speak English or use it regularly."
"But the biggest one for us is patch management because this has been our top priority when looking at alternatives. Every solution needs to have patch management, if that's possible. It would cut costs on our side if that feature were included, so we don't need to pay for two separate pieces of software."
"There is no technical support available in the Middle East."
"The solution could improve by having more real-time responses. For example, when a license gets removed from a computer it does not update the records of the change. Additionally, when I installed Microsoft Windows Defender I was not able to send licenses through email to our tenants. The integration with other solutions could improve."
"I would like the part of Hash Analysis by external sources to be improved."
"Resource consumption is suboptimal and could be improved."
"There could be a dedicated security partner with essential knowledge."
"One problem is that the solution takes too much RAM from the client."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay for an annual license which is affordable."
"We purchase the solution for three or five-year intervals. We paid approximately $150 for 10 to 15 users."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"The pricing is reasonable when I compare it to other security solutions, particularly Kaspersky, it stands out. It offers an excellent solution at a more favorable price point."
"You don't have to pay extra after buying the product."
"The price is comparable."
"If you purchase licenses in bulk the price of the licenses can decrease."
"The product has average pricing."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee of about €20 per computer."
"The cost of the solution depends on the size of the company and where the licenses are being ordered from."
