Useful in webinars, meetings and online classrooms
One of the features that people enjoy is the whiteboard, providing opportunities for academics to present content and for students to contribute. The platform also allows for the creating of different rooms, enabling large classes to break into smaller groups for discussions. Students can then return to the main classroom to share their opinions. It integrates with LMS.

Have streamlined daily workflow and task management but still face inconvenience from recent interface changes and limited integration options
There are challenges and issues in Microsoft Teams, such as after recent updates where group chats were combined with Teams, chats, and groups into one. Users have to work with settings to make it normal again so Teams are separated from chats, and that was a really inconvenient update. Many users ask me to help make it back again to separate Teams and groups from one-to-one chats. That's probably the worst update they've made recently. Additionally, there are some minor features, such as when I work with messages, I don't have an actual forward or quote option when replying to someone's message. I need to be careful not to miss the quote sign. For a lot of people, they are confused about where the quotes option is. I've received a couple of hundred support tickets just regarding this issue. The function to share email to Teams chat doesn't work sometimes due to our compliance policies, and sometimes it would be nice to be able to forward an email to the group chat and have further discussions. Microsoft Teams could improve by being less glitchy because it glitches a lot, leading to undelivered emails and undelivered messages. It would be beneficial if the MS application Shifts, which adds functionality to groups, could be integrated into the groups calendar. Currently, many teams don't use the app because it is not integrated with the general calendar or the Outlook calendar, making it basically a useless application. The platform needs less Copilot and more people. The general Copilot integration into the platform is less glitchy, but Microsoft Teams is quite heavy and glitchy sometimes. Stability depends a lot on compliance restrictions, policies, and quality of internet. Sometimes, when updates are enrolling, the platform glitches, breaks, or shuts down.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution allows me to connect and collaborate with student live time, or asynchronously."
"The solution allows me to connect and collaborate with my classes."
"This solution has provided an additional way to connect with students and they feel like it allows for participation in a variety of ways."
"Document loading and annotation."
"The software is easy to use, has clear navigation and structure, and is highly customizable from an administrators standpoint (I've administered and used it as a client)."
"One of the features that people enjoy is the whiteboard, providing opportunities for academics to present content and for students to contribute. The platform also allows for the creating of different rooms, enabling large classes to break into smaller groups for discussions. Students can then return to the main classroom to share their opinions. It integrates with LMS."
"Teams is really user-friendly and not that complex."
"Arranging online meetings is the most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams."
"Message and chat retention is a valuable feature."
"We use Microsoft Teams for group communications."
"One big advantage of this solution over competitors is it is bundled with Office 365, which makes it more convenient and allows it to integrate well with Outlook and other applications such as your calendar."
"We are using Teams to call people to set meetings, record meetings, share documents — all communication now goes through Teams."
"All of the solution's features are useful since we use it for saving data, chatting, meeting, and all such purposes."
"I am impressed with the tool's integration with SharePoint where we can access it with a single click from the platform. The solution is available in web and mobile versions so it gives a seamless experience when we move from one device to another. Especially when you're on the calls, you don't need to get out of one device, and then log in to another, and then join that meeting. You need to just switch."

Cons

"If there were maybe more tutorials outside of what I'm aware the university is suggesting, I would take more tutorials on effective ways to deliver content. I come from the industry and content was always needed when people that were observing were smart and involved and decision-makers instead of so passively just trying to pass the course. In my imagination, the tutorials would be a tool where the learners themselves can have much more hands-on learning during a Collaborate session."
"I wish I could upload assignments from my Android tablet or iPhone, but I guarantee that specific feature is in the works."
"The system can overload when too many try logging in."
"We faced outages when the user limit went over a certain number."
"I occasionally had difficulties logging in because I think that the system was overloaded with too many people."
"Originally, I was disappointed in behavior of the early Ultra version. It did not exhibit to students what I am showing on my own machine."
"Lacking in more complex hierarchies for files and teams."
"On rare occasions, it freezes and some people will lose sound or they could lose video."
"Its screen-sharing feature could be better compared to a few competitors."
"On rare occasions, it freezes and some people will lose sound or they could lose video."
"The mobile application needs improvement."
"Sometimes, I find the network quality is not very good with low bandwidth."
"We occasionally have issues with synchronization between different dates. This aspect of stability needs improvement."
"I had to type the team members versus being able to set up a team's group of names as you can do with Outlook."
