Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Provides good stability, but it could be intuitive and easier to use
The product’s current version could be easier and straightforward to work with small IT organizations, similar to the older version. Its asset management feature has been significantly affected since the upgrade. Earlier, it was able to perform skill-based routing automatically. We could set up parameters within the system and view the details of the incident or a ticket. The same functionality needs to be fine-tuned in the new system.

It is stable and has useful features, but the automation feature needs improvement
All of the features are very suitable for us. It is also a stable solution Its automation feature needs improvement. They can include the vRealize Automation feature in this solution. I have been using VMware Service Manager for more than six years. It is stable. Its scalability is good, but…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Currently, everyone wants to experiment more and more with cloud offerings. They don't want to spend money on setting up their internal hardware infrastructure. Automation Anywhere is the only tool that provides a pure cloud to customers. That is one of the key features."
"Automation Anywhere offers a complete suite of development tools to empower developers for various enterprise automation needs."
"Automation Anywhere offers valuable features, including command packages for PDF, Windows, XML, and Excel, as well as universal recording capabilities."
"It is easy to understand how to use the tool. For a developer, it is very easy to understand the opportunities and how to use and learn these features. It is very business-oriented."
"The most valuable part is that it have the integrated OCR solution within it. All the other solutions do not have the right integration of the OCR solutions. You need to go to two different places to get one solution. Whereas, in IQ Bot, there is one area where you get all these solutions together in one area. That is the most important and beautiful point that I like about IQ Bot."
"Many of our tasks are automated using AA and due to ease in handling, it becomes the first choice in terms of RPA tool."
"Automation Anywhere is a good platform with extensive capabilities that has innovated and kept their platform more centered and relevant in the market by introducing AI and agentic capabilities."
"It is one of the popular RPA vendors offering powerful & user-friendly RPA capabilities to automate any complex tasks. It is one of the "Revolutionary Technology" that changes the way the enterprise operates. This tool combines conventional RPA with intellectual elements like natural language understanding and reading any unstructured data."
"We use it to create and manage our work orders."
"Our efficiency has improved drastically due to a massive reduction in phone calls."
"Using their problem management process, we can use parent/child tickets and set up public views for our problem work orders."
"The customization of the product and reporting capabilities have allowed us to provide upper management the graphs (data) they request that helps validate specific needs that we (IT) have."
"As a department, we have been able to identify problems and resolve them faster because of the centralized database."
"The solution is quite stable, and we've found it to be reliable and free from bugs and glitches that affect its usability."
"Using the Help Desk and Purchasing modules, they let us keep track of all the issues in our organization and analyze them for trends."
"Track-It! has many features that help make us more efficient and cost effective as a department."
"It provides us the following: A better utilisation of the hardware, more flexibility, improved maintenance cycles, and a system overview."
"It provides us with improved maintenance cycles."
"We have installed a physical server for failover; we need to configure cluster on everything, but with VMware, we do not need to cluster because we automatically get seven physical nodes failover and if one fails we have no issues."
"All of the features are very suitable for us. It is also a stable solution."
"Simplicity and flexibility are its major plus points making it a leading industry solution for deploying cloud environments."
"The Service Desk module and the Workflow module, which is extremely powerful."

Cons

"It is not able to use OCR effectively and has limited usability."
"We only faced some problems when integrating it with SAP, and Oracle integration was a bit challenging, especially with Oracle Fusion. We had some issues when we were trying to connect some of the applications on the API level. But, in general, integration using Automation Anywhere is fine."
"I would like the support to be faster. Their response time is one to two days. Their customer care could be faster."
"The document processing, OCR, needs to be more accurate. Sometimes, when you try it on documents, it keeps on failing and goes to a different queue. It needs to mature."
"The support and user community need improvement."
"Technical support needs to be much faster. I also had the project delivery. I had six clients whom I looked after. Whenever we got stuck, it was all about sprinting. There was a two or three week sprint. Within that, if you just wait for two to three days, it doesn't make sense. The support needs to implode, because I was just talking to a customer now who came directly and asked us, "Can you give us a dedicated support team?" It's feedback from our customer that support takes too long."
"I think Automation Anywhere could be improved by addressing the learning curve, as it is a little complex to start using it, especially for people new to automation tools."
"The product is not totally stable."
"Their self-service is not user friendly."
"The area where we would like to see improvement is in the asset management module."
"The product’s current version could be easier and straightforward to work with small IT organizations, similar to the older version."
"Currently, if you go and check the reports in the packet, the reports are useless; reporting is really bad."
"There are a few items that I would like changed or extra features that could be added to our current version of this software, but those are all going to be addressed in a future software update."
"Track-It! works great for a mid-size company, but anything over 700 employees, and trying to use Track-It! for any other areas of the business is difficult."
"The solution is cumbersome to use."
"Graphical User Interface looks a little bit old-school."
"It needs to improve user roles and access rights."
"Its automation feature needs improvement. They can include the vRealize Automation feature in this solution."
"Not a ten because the price is high."
"Still new in the market and a lot of its features are still not yet explored."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The current pricing for Automation Anywhere seems a little higher compared to competitors Power Automate or UiPath. Automation Anywhere is perceived as pricey due to the support model charges ranging from 20% to 30% based on the plans."
"When you compare the cost of Automation Anywhere with UiPath and Blue Prism, those others are much less. Licensing-wise, UiPath wins the deal."
"As far as costs, it depends on your use. We started with a basic department pack, which is over 10K. The additional costs depend on the scale of the engagement and how it pans out. We customize to our needs on the go."
"The pricing model can be a bit more flexible."
"We save 34,000 hours of time per year and have recouped up to $6000 in lost revenue."
"Its price is competitive with all other products in the market."
"I've seen the price vary by whether the client is going to scale and adopt a tool."
"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"BMC Track-It!’s price is reasonable compared to other products."
"The price depends on different enterprises. As compared to Citrix, VMware is reasonable."
