Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Integrates well, highly stable, and scalable
CA Asset Portfolio Management can improve the uploading of batch information. I have to upload large amounts of information and it can take a long time to finish. There are some other solutions that are better, such as Micro Focus. We have approximately 10,000 PCs that we are busy processing and we have to upload information to them but when we use this solution it is complex. When we use Micro Focus it is better.

It is stable and has useful features, but the automation feature needs improvement
All of the features are very suitable for us. It is also a stable solution Its automation feature needs improvement. They can include the vRealize Automation feature in this solution. I have been using VMware Service Manager for more than six years. It is stable. Its scalability is good, but…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The platform is easy to use, especially for business users."
"This RPA solution really stands out because of its functionality, scalability, and stability. It also offers very good technical support, and is always innovating with new features that speak to various operational use cases."
"Our organization used to have a process which took five business days to do: our monthly pricing update. This was a very manual process. Our very first bot built was to automate this process. Now, the bot runs in the background every month and the process takes less than a day to run."
"At the most granular level, automating people's daily tasks has been helpful by freeing them up to do higher value-add activities, which is definitely beneficial."
"Automation Anywhere has a uniqueness with respect to the IQ Bot."
"Automation Anywhere helped me achieve my automation goals as it reduced turnaround time, cost, human intervention, and increased overall satisfaction levels for our customers."
"I feel that it save us time and provides ROI as a monetary benefit because it reduces FTE, the number of headcount working for a particular project."
"I'm impressed with the scalability. We are able to do changes. We are able to scale from different environments now with the Control Room in version 10 and 11. The scalability is pretty good. It is up to the mark of the other market competitors."
"This product has added value to our organization by our increased ability to track assets, status, and lifecycle as well as being able to monitor assets when they are active."
"It enables us to make better business and financial decisions."
"You build the items one time and then you have your discovery that's coming in and the system will let you know whether or not you're out of compliance."
"Being able to determine the licensing position for existing vendors and future vendors. Also, visibility into our environment,"
"Cost, time, and risks that relate to auditing of compliance are greatly reduced with the use of IT asset manager."
"Enables me to know where an asset is at any point during its lifecycle: How old it is, who it belongs to, and where it's at within that lifecycle."
"You could also look for software that is no longer being used and you can re-deploy the software, so then you save from a purchasing standpoint because you don't have to buy the software again."
"My organization now understands what type of products they have: warranties, how long the warranties last, depreciation; we never really knew what our depreciation values were, so it was really nice to have that on hand as well, and it gives us a better view of our hardware, which is really beneficial."
"We have installed a physical server for failover; we need to configure cluster on everything, but with VMware, we do not need to cluster because we automatically get seven physical nodes failover and if one fails we have no issues."
"It provides us with improved maintenance cycles."
"It provides us the following: A better utilisation of the hardware, more flexibility, improved maintenance cycles, and a system overview."
"All of the features are very suitable for us. It is also a stable solution."
"The Service Desk module and the Workflow module, which is extremely powerful."
"Simplicity and flexibility are its major plus points making it a leading industry solution for deploying cloud environments."

Cons

"Our current version needs drag and drop, but that should be in the next release."
"Automation Anywhere can be improved in certain areas specified in the cognitive zone where the information needs better OCR Engine + Machine Learning capabilities. Also, they can improve on the System Identified region function of the IQ Bot - Our team faced a tough time in handling that as we were not able to assign variable to System Identified Region as the IQ Bot tool wasn't allowing it."
"We do not have the AI Agent Studio feature of Automation Anywhere available yet in our government GCC environment."
"Also, the Master certification should be provided free of cost for partners."
"I just came to understand that there is a cloud attached to it. I would like to see how the cloud is going to work, because every application is coming out with a cloud version. If you are not on-premise, then you will need to have Citrix automation."
"I am looking forward to seeing writing on Linux in the web and WorkBatch in the next release."
"Because I am using an older version, I am rating the scalability as a seven out of 10. I feel a lack of convenience when I try to scale it."
"MetaBot still needs to be optimized, though Version 11.3 did integrate all the commands into it. We are not able to see all the lines of code which are executed in MetaBot."
"Keeping the catalog updated and having more titles in the catalog is helpful, because the more items that are in the catalog, your process goes faster because you don't have to manually build all the entitlements."
"Accessing from roles can be effected adversely if searches are created and incorrectly assigned to roles."
"IT asset manager is very complex when integrated with other systems like HR, help desk, procurement and supply chain systems."
"One additional improvement – the reporting aspect in SAM is poor; we need different reporting for different purposes – compliance reporting for executive management and the product teams."
"CA SAM is not a CA product. The vendor is Aspera and CA is the distributor, so support is difficult. It's more difficult to get a good response."
"Initially, each upgrade, the process for it was a little different. Having to go, this upgrade was going to be different from this one, going to be different from that one, that was a bit of a headache."
"As I'm looking into financial reporting and audits, new features to help with this would be good."
"The UI, even though they upgraded the UI, it's still kind of dated, it's a little bit convoluted to use. It's not like something that you can sit down and automatically understand how to use it."
"Graphical User Interface looks a little bit old-school."
"It needs to improve user roles and access rights."
"Its automation feature needs improvement. They can include the vRealize Automation feature in this solution."
"Not a ten because the price is high."
"Still new in the market and a lot of its features are still not yet explored."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Price is where I'm least satisfied. Other vendors are more willing to offer discounts."
"On average, a bot runner in Automation Anywhere can cost $5,000, while in Microsoft Power Automate, you can get most of the same functionality for $100."
"Automation Anywhere's pricing falls within the mid-range, but the long-term benefits outweigh the initial investment."
"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"It costs up to $1,200 per license."
"The pricing model can be a bit more flexible."
"The cost of this solution is a little bit high, but it is worth the price."
"Currently, it stands as one of the more expensive RPA tools available."
Information not available
"The price depends on different enterprises. As compared to Citrix, VMware is reasonable."
