A simple and lightweight college course automation system with third-party integrations
The initial setup is straightforward and can be completed with the environment within an hour. First, take the latest from the git repository and check the git code to the monitor studio and a bar file, a deployable Bonita archive file. Then, take that process to the Bonita server, running at runtime on another server. Finally, deploy and enable it by selecting the proper organization.

Supports process modeling and customization but needs better reporting flexibility and UI improvements
As an administrator, I would improve MEGA HOPEX by adding a WYSIWYG feature for building reports, which would be very helpful. Additionally, I would want reporting customization from the front end web application, not only from the Windows app, which is the customizer. If all changes could be made in the web application, that would be beneficial because every time we need to request access to the server, it takes time in large organizations and involves multiple levels of approvals from cybersecurity and IT security, which can block the project. Regarding dashboards in MEGA HOPEX, they could definitely be better. Having something similar to ARIS would make it easier to build dashboards, providing a what-you-see-is-what-you-get experience, allowing me to drag and drop elements, configure them, and test queries. Moreover, RFQL language is not common, so in MEGA HOPEX, I need to learn RFQL querying. In terms of additional features for MEGA HOPEX, I would appreciate more features for workflows. There are limitations in customizing the email notifications sent during workflows. When creating a workflow, I can configure actions and customize the text, but not the header and footer. Therefore, all emails from the tool come with a MEGA HOPEX header. In large organizations like BPM COE, we want to have our own logo, header, and footer in those emails, but this is not configurable, which I find limiting. I would appreciate easier features to customize workflows and create workflows.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its user-friendliness, along with the availability of comprehensive and clear documentation on the website is the most valuable."
"Compared to other products on the market, Bonita presents a pretty acceptable level of robustness."
"Bonita is user-friendly."
"With Bonita BPM, you can run the process (as it will in the final stage) immediately after the design stage, giving you 100% control over the quality of your processes and flows."
"The most valuable features of Bonita are the connectors, detailed documentation, and web applications."
"The solution is stable. Even the older versions are stable."
"Process automation with Bonita BPM is really easy."
"Studio provides an opportunity to get early feedback from real users and quickly change the process and forms."
"The ability to have standardized reports around obsolescence and lifecycle management is probably the most valuable."
"The most valuable feature is that the software controls everything from a single management window."
"MEGA has different models and different disciplines, but perhaps for me, the best feature would be that it has one unique repository for all of them."
"This is a complete package with all of the functionality that we need."
"I find the process modeling and value chain features valuable. The application portfolio management functionality and workflow management capabilities are also nice. It provides a holistic view for stakeholders and helps align IT with business strategies. It facilitates collaboration across the organization and covers all domains, including business, applications, technology, and data."
"The main feature that we like the most is the ability to have a unique repository where all the architects can interact and play together with the shapes of different architecture solutions."
"Traceability across architecture domains - business architecture and data technology - can connect the dots and provide an end-to-end view of the architecture landscape, which is one of the powerful strengths of the tool."
"We have many use cases for this solution but the feature I have found most valuable is the IT Portfolio Management module."

Cons

"I would like to improve the product's load balancing."
"There could be an improvement in IoT connectivity."
"Installation could be made easier. I would like to see more automated processes."
"So Bonita is easy to use but it seems to be missing some powerful features that competing products have."
"The main issue with Bonita is that the workspace crashes sometimes."
"The price is good, but I do not like the process instance annual quantity pricing base used today."
"There could be an improvement in IoT connectivity."
"There is a need for more components in the library and additional customization options for these components."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"It was very difficult to adapt MEGA to our way of working. You have to spend 40% of the time thinking about how you will implement and use the MEGA concept."
"The tool usability is weak and it also has a high learning curve."
"Overall rating: 7-8 (out of 10). Stability is one shortfall and it's probably the major one."
"We would like to see integration with other products, such as being able to use our workflow with SharePoint and Microsoft Office."
"Needs a friendlier import/export to other modeling tools."
"We have a very close relationship with MEGA representatives in Mexico, and we ask them why they don't offer impact analysis. For example, we have a server in the center and provide the client a view of what's in the peripheral area, like one cluster, application, process area, and services. We want to offer our clients that level of visibility with HOPEX."
"The solution lacks additional models compared to other tools."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Price to service ratio with Bonita BPM is good."
"I am using the free version of Bonita."
"The product is not cheaper, not costlier; it is reasonable. Bonita’s license is very flexible, with options to meet the needs of different customers and clients. Previously, it was less flexible, but now, many different licensing options are available."
"Licensing cost for the Enterprise edition comes out to be around 40,000 a year. There is also a Community edition, which is free. Some customers can go for the Community edition, but some of them require the Enterprise edition. Big companies go for the Enterprise edition, which comes with a lot of additional features such as a mobile app."
"I believe this is a very good financial choice."
"The Community Edition comes free of charge."
"We are using the Community Version, which can be used free of charge."
"The product's pricing is acceptable. Pricing is yearly."
"The tool is relatively expensive."
"I've been told that MEGA HOPEX is very expensive, which is why small organizations dismiss the tool. It's complex and costly versus other simpler and cheaper solutions."
"MEGA HOPEX's licensing costs are yearly."
"It is very expensive."
"The price of the support depends on the vendors that are reselling this module or the MEGA HOPEX version 5. We are on premium support and are their only partners in the GCC, we have a premium support contract with them. The support we have is not with the client. The client does not bear the cost, it's us who bear the cost."
"The price of the MEGA HOPEX license could improve, it is expensive. The license key for business process analysis and IT architecture is approximately €10,000. This price is fixed, it's not a subscription or cloud-based version. It is a one-time price."
"The pricing depends on the number of licenses purchased."
"If you want to use additional features, such as the Risk Management capability, then it is a little too expensive."
