Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Having everything in one location has significantly improved our efficiency and reporting
We need to be on VPN in order to set up and access the solution, and that has created some challenges. Even though it uses our Windows login, we still have to be on VPN. The product should be able to log tickets directly from system to system. We haven't got there yet and I'm not sure it's possible but it would determine the product's capability to integrate with other systems.

Clean chat interface has supported basic AI handoffs but now needs omnichannel and a free plan
LiveChat did not support omnichannel messaging or multi-channel inbox, and it was not offering any free plan. These limitations made me switch to another solution. I believe LiveChat should support at least a basic free plan so that potential customers can try out their features before paying for the full suite.

Pros

"Comparing to other products in the market, we are getting all the features in hundred percent quality with what the objective needs to be met by other products, and that is also delivered in Automation Anywhere."

"It is easy to use and very scalable."
"Workflow automation has helped a lot with cost reduction, greater accuracy, and delivery speed."
"The main thing is the simple UI, easy to use commands, and it's very easy to learn compared to other tools in the market."
"Automation Anywhere's image reader is the most valuable feature."
"The core functionality, the ability to automate these tasks and to interact, both with our own in-house software solutions as well as with our customers' and vendors' solutions and portals, has been incredibly valuable for us."
"Automation Anywhere is frequently releasing new features to their product. I find this amazing as they provide frequent product updates, introducing new features to the frameworks and similar aspects."
"Its integration features, orchestration features, and discovery tools are the most valuable. It is also pretty stable, and it can be as scalable as you want."
"Implementing CSM has made us very efficient and we're now able to plan changes and the steps required for implementation."
"The most valuable features are problem management and change management."
"The best feature is the ability to create functional dashboards, where the IT manager can interact with its data through the dashboard using the drill down feature."
"Clear processes with transparent responsibilities led to more efficiencies within the teams."
"All our activities are carried out in the one place."
"We use the solution every day and quite extensively."
"The dashboard is very useful to get a quick overview of current tasks."
"I majorly love the ticket and knowledge base features, which allow us to save automated answers to the most popular customer queries."
"It truly does what I need it to do and anything else I would say, I would be making it up."

Cons

"Although the UI and elements are user-friendly, it is still difficult for business users without experience to understand how to use Automation Anywhere."
"The API integration should be improved further since it is a bit difficult at the moment to connect with the API in the enterprise version."
"Blue Prism is more secure than Automation Anywhere. E.g., Blue Prism has a system that is difficult to penetrate. You can't simply go into their system and make any changes."
"I would like to see more stability around scheduling a bot to run headless."
"We've struggled with some of the new features Automation Anywhere added in the latest version. For example, they added a new OpenAI package, but it took a while for me to find it in the actions menu."
"Automation Anywhere has to be integrated with machine learning and AI systems to read images and videos, then put the information into another format."
"There is definitely some room for improvement there. It is sort of a hit and miss with their support engineers, you have some really good ones and some that aren't."
"Excel functionalities, the macro interface can be improved in the next release of RPA platform Automation Anywhere."
"They need to improve their mobile interface, as well as features regarding the extension of the mobile access to the end user."
"The stability, specifically in the on-premises deployment model, could be improved."
"The solution could be more user-friendly."
"We need to be on VPN in order to set up and access the solution, and that has created some challenges."
"Agile delivery should be supported."
"Access is only available if we're on VPN."
"Areas for improvement would be the service catalog and customer catalog, which is not very user-friendly. The shopping cart experience is also terrible - you submit and go straight to the cart, you can't continue shopping or see your overall cost."
"The support from the actual manufacturer is poor."
"There have been times where Live Chat's servers have had DDOS attacks and have made communication difficult."
"I'd like to be able to create teams and filter the reports by team, in addition to the ability to currently filter by group, date, agent, tag etc."
"LiveChat did not support omnichannel messaging or multi-channel inbox, and it was not offering any free plan."
"The biggest friction point I have experienced with LiveChat so far is the lack of a free plan."
"The service needs to be more popular than it currently is."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It costs up to $1,200 per license."
"The cost is affordable, which makes an easy barrier to entry for the RPA market."
"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"It is one of the most affordable RPA solutions, and as for licensing, they offer a community edition that greatly helps anyone who aspires to learn about the product before buying the enterprise solution."
"I feel the cost of licensing is very high for the A2019 version."
"It is not too expensive, but there are many tools available in the market that can provide the same functionality at a cheaper price."

"Our pricing a year ago was $600 per license."
"For an ITIL user, the cost is probably about 50 bucks a month."
