Supports seamless authentication for users across multiple organizations and personal portals
The features I use in Cisco Duo include Duo Pushes to confirm my identity to the device, and eventually as MFA security was increased, I actually had to use exchange passcodes. Sometimes, I have to go into the site and get into Cisco Duo to retrieve the passcode, and many of them have been two-factor, where the sites send a passcode that I have to enter into Cisco Duo. It has been more of the latter. I have not seen issues with lagging or crashing on Cisco Duo's end; it was usually on the client end, often because someone set up a bad upgrade or there were connection issues with the Cisco Duo cloud through the administrative site.
A flexible solution for application management, and facilitated centralization of our IAM
We use HelloID for ourselves and clients, so we need to manage a lot of client environments at once. Functionality to manage this situation is not yet available. When something needs to be changed with the sign-on policies, we have to apply this manually to every client environment that we have.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"If you have to log in to something, you must go to Duo Security to confirm that you're who you are on your phone."
"The experience of deploying Cisco Duo is great; it is fast and not too complex in my opinion, as you can integrate basically anything into Duo, so I would say the experience is overall very great as an administrator."
"Cisco Duo has definitely improved my operational efficiency and reduced costs in areas like authentication and IT support, as evidenced by a reduction in security tickets since we don't see too many password change requests or forgotten password calls anymore."
"Cisco Duo is rock solid in terms of stability and reliability."
"Duo is a cloud-based product and it is a good product to maintain the security for the VPN."
"Documentation is the most valuable feature, and if you ever have to reach out to them with a question, their support is also fantastic."
"The push notifications and the integrations they offer are valuable. Their mobile app is very useful. It is very easy to use."
"It is a great system regarding multi-factor authentication, specifically after we did the integration with Active Directory, allowing us to manage the users who use the VPN, our main gateway for VPN Cisco ASA Secure, with full administration."
"The Single Sign-On capabilities are endless and we haven't found a single app so far that couldn't be set up for SSO."
"The most valuable feature is the option to use SSO from different sources such as Microsoft AD, ADFS, Azure AD, SAML, form-based, etc."
"This solution helped us with centralizing our IAM; it was spread out over many places, and now we can easily control who has access to which client or client application."
"By giving users the ability to fully manage their own workspace, while still being able to monitor and administer such actions, we can focus on new-business and projects as we like."
"The thing we like the most is that this software is so easy to use; you don't need to be a specialist in Identity and Access Management solutions to understand the software and configure it."

Cons

"The only issue I encountered was related to the expiration of Duo Unix versions below 2.0.3 on February 3rd."
"At the moment, I believe that more integration between Cisco Duo Identity Intelligence and the classic Cisco Duo console can be improved, since it is still a separate platform, and when I click on Identity Intelligence, I have to open a new window and log in again."
"I think Cisco Duo can be improved."
"Cisco Duo could definitely be improved, particularly regarding some of the reporting it does, as it currently lacks detail; for example, we had an issue where someone was getting prompted multiple times, but the console only detected it that one time."
"To improve Cisco Duo, the biggest consideration is the licensing standpoint; the most common issue I've found is customers not setting up the Active Directory sync properly, leading to inflated licensing usage when they try to delete inactive users that are still being charged."
"Cisco Duo could benefit from improvements in certain areas that are important to us."
"The product could be more intuitive on the app."
"Cisco Duo is a really good product and I am very happy with it, but sometimes we have to authenticate multiple times, which may be part of our administration."
"Sometimes it generates a username that is not unique, but at the time of this writing, it is not possible to generate a new one that is unique."
"When something needs to be changed with the sign-on policies, we have to apply this manually to every client environment that we have."
"I would like to have the built-in provisioning module improved."
"Integration with other Tools4ever applications such as SSRPM and IAM would be nice."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is affordable for what's coming to the table with it, but in this day and age, the cost is looked at under a microscope, and companies need to very finely define what is needed versus what is critical. In some cases, it might not be cost-effective for a company to have it. In a lot of other cases, it is the cost of doing business."
"It was very reasonable."
"I haven't seen it in a while, but it's at par with everything else licensing-wise."
"Its price is reasonable. It is not highly expensive."
"I believe the licensing model is excellent as it offers flexibility to our customers, allowing them to adopt a crawl, walk, or run approach."
"The licensing is very good because it does not cost a lot of money. It's affordable for all-sized customers, including enterprises. There is an additional cost for premium support."
"My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of Cisco Duo has been great. We've been there for 10 years. While we haven't gone through the setup part for a while, licensing is straightforward and convenient for higher education because student populations are included. So, we don't have to pay extra for it. We just pay for our knowledge workers, which has been great, and the cost is reasonable."
"I only need the solution for IT staff, which makes it relatively cheap. If I deployed it for the whole company, it would be costly, so it depends on the number of users. Duo Security is affordable compared to other products in the segment."
"In terms of costs and pricing, this solution is worth every penny."
"Since HelloID is very reasonably priced, the return-on-investment is fast."
