Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Offers good UI but needs to improve its integration capabilities
Speaking about how the tool is useful in automating repetitive tasks in our company, I would say that my company started to collect data with the help of Datamatics while also using its GPS tracking features. The tool's UI is much better than the ones offered by other similar products in the market. I recommend the product to others who plan to use it. I suggest that others use their own method of interrogation since it will help them achieve more growth in their organizations through the use of the tool. I rate the tool a seven and a half out of ten.

Automating processes has saved time and improved communication
Something frustrates me concerning Microsoft Power Automate, and that is about the integration with Microsoft Forms and Excel. The issue now is that I don't get my responses synchronized automatically, and that frustrates me a lot. If the team could take this as feedback, the synchronization of the feedback responses from the forms and the Excel sheets should be seamless. This synchronization issue happens frequently, and it causes a lot of delays in the sense that the mails that ought to go out to the agents fail at some point. I have to reload these responses so that the agents can get their responses as when submitted. What I notice is that the responses don't go out without proper synchronization, so I reload the field responses, and this works afterwards. I would say probably a seamless walkthrough process for new users would be beneficial. For those using it for the first time, a seamless walkthrough process would be fine.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Excel automation is especially helpful because a lot of small companies are still using Excel as their data storage."
"One thing that I want to highlight AA for is their security standards."
"It's very easy to use. It helps streamline manual processes."
"Currently, everyone wants to experiment more and more with cloud offerings. They don't want to spend money on setting up their internal hardware infrastructure. Automation Anywhere is the only tool that provides a pure cloud to customers. That is one of the key features."
"The universal recorder along with the Excel basic and advanced packages has been highly valuable."
"The technical support is something that I rely on if I have any queries or if I have to work on another alternate approach."
"From an SAP point of view, we have in-built features. They have integrated everything together, so it's much easier for us to use that."
"Tasks now don't depend upon the unavailability of certain employees/colleagues to be completed. Also, bots can run all day long which also affects the overall budgets."
"The product's initial setup phase is straightforward and easy to use."
"We believe that the value and the cost of the Datamatics TruBot really fits financial institutions' budgets much better than what we'd call the big three, the Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath."
"The solution is inexpensive compared to many other solutions in the market."
"Ability to calculate the ROI on the jobs that are running."
"The solution is very stable and we have not had any issues."
"I use the product for automation."
"Triggering and scheduling were pretty good. There was no real commitment with WinAutomation because the licensing was very fair and you could trigger bots very easily."
"The ease of use is the solution's most valuable aspect."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to integrate across multiple systems, for example between web portals, Excel, and email, and the ability to write a process that covers all of those different areas of technology."
"The initial setup is pretty easy."
"It comes as a part of the Microsoft suite, which makes it an easy sell."
"Implementing Microsoft Power Automate has made our development team more efficient."
"Power Automate has allowed us to simplify the business process and improve operational efficiency."

Cons

"The integration is not always seamless. Sometimes, it takes a while to get everything to communicate and be ready to go into production."
"The data migration could be better."
"To achieve a perfect ten, I would want to see new features working as expected and further advancements in automation."
"We had had issues with scalability. Recently, we had a use case which we were working on, but we could not do it because Automation Anywhere could not connect to the system."
"While the community provides a platform for interaction and resource sharing, not all training content aligns with the specific needs of developers."
"What we currently have with Fortress IQ needs to mature more, and I say this since people spend weeks creating PDDs documentation."
"We would like to have a better debugging facility."
"Compared to other RPA tools, the UI of Automation Anywhere is not that great and is not that easy to pick up for people, which takes more time for a newbie."
"I'd like to see more additions to the library, which I believe currently has 200 plus items."
"The stability of the product has certain shortcomings, making it an area where improvements are required."
"Would like to see more additions to the library."
"There is a learning curve, and some training could be included to bring users up to speed."
"This solution should be more resilient, with robots more capable of recovering after an error."
"Tech support could be more hands-on. Right now, they simply direct users to documentation instead of directly dealing with issues."
"They can improve the description of errors and provide more details. Sometimes, when I receive an error, I can't understand what is wrong. It would be useful to have a desktop version to modify or edit workflows. Its scalability can also be better."
"We haven't gone into depth to explore the integration with AI, so I am not really sure."
"There is an RPA feature gap between this solution and other more mature products."
"I've had some issues with the stability."
"The solution could offer more specific training. There should be more examples of what the functions can do and more instructions and explanations to the process."
"It would be difficult to do a supplier onboarding with Power Automate, whereas you could do it with Nintex, and this is a big drawback."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In the Indian market, I feel that for mid-size companies, such as ourselves, that having multiple bots costs a lot. If Automation Anywhere wants to expand in the Indian market, they will need to look at their pricing."
"The initial setup and licensing fees are high, and although it saves costs in the long run, reaching the break-even point can take at least six months."
"Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"I think the solution's pricing is reasonable."
"Automation Anywhere is flexible in terms of costing and licensing."
"The price is a little bit high but the support is good."
"The setup cost depends on multiple factors, so you need to get details before choosing."
"The tool is expensive."
"There should be increased transparency about which features attend the pricing."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"Power Automate is comparatively less costly than UiPath."
"The cost to use Microsoft Power Automate is approximately $15 per user per month, for the basic plan. However, the solution comes free with the Microsoft 365 Suite."
"This is a cost-effective RPA solution."
"It comes with the Microsoft suite. I'd rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing."
"Due to the pricing model, the solution is more convenient than any other tools."
"The licensing price should be more cost-effective."
