It's easy to setup and the plugins are easy to write. When we need to, the threshold is easy to change It would be nice to have a centralized client-settings management. At the moment, the client settings have to be changed individually. I've used it since 2011. The deployment of the new server…

Unified monitoring has improved event handling but needs stronger AI automation and modern dashboards
OpenText AI Operations Management could benefit from a fully integrated AI system, which we call AIOps. A fully integrated AI operations system would be valuable in the future. Additionally, the UI experience could be more comfortable. We are not using predictive features in OpenText AI Operations Management such as anomaly detection. In the future, we may be able to operate with our customer, but we need to decide this collectively. You need to see the big picture and understand what the customer's pain points are to find the right tuning. Normally, predictive features can be more useful, but this is an end-to-end solution that needs to be customized. You need to understand the exact customer needs. The predictive analytics feature is very close to being integrated, but it is not fully integrated at this time.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's easy to setup and the plugins are easy to write."
"The integration with the ticketing tool makes sure that there is a record for every issue."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its grouping scripts and event focus."
"Be patient, and take things step by step to get it going; once that takes place, it's pretty self-sufficient."
"This solution worked as an umbrella for many different types of monitoring systems, offering various tools for not only application performance management models but also user experience models and monitoring business processes."
"We use the on-premises version to monitor our systems and manage emails, and all our systems use Operations Bridge, especially the critical systems."
"I find the Micro Focus Operations Bridge dashboard valuable, including its instrument analysis and anomaly control features that help indicate root causes and problems with your infrastructure."
"The implementation of Operation Manager made it possible to centralize the events of several supervision tools such as SiteScope, Network Node Manager or Nagios, and all the enrichment part allowed to reduce the processing time of support tickets because all the information was already present in the alarm."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to integrate with everything."

Cons

"Deploying an agent leaves much to be desired."
"Level 1 technical support is incompetent. I'm almost afraid to open tickets because I know I'll be asked the same thing 8 times."
"Stability could have been better. We were running into problems sometimes where the whole system was not performing as we expected."
"The product might currently have a lot of new features, however, I don't have information about these new features, so it's possible it may require updates in that area."
"Our issues are largely support related due to where we are and the knowledge base that we have here."
"Implementation could be improved."
"It is a very complicated product. It's difficult to manage."
"There are a couple of areas of improvement: Performance needs to increase; and Better correlation from the box rules."
"It can be cumbersome to get up and running. And it's very expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The cost is very high."
"The licensing cost for this solution is approximately $1,000 USD."
"Setup costs can be high depending on the partner, but it is worth it."
"Pricing is very flexible and depends on the modules selected as per the requirement."
"It is competitive."
"As OpsBridge is a suite of products bundled together, you may find yourself paying for software functionality that you don't actually use, e.g. Real User Monitor (RUM)."
"The licensing model for Micro Focus Operations Bridge is unit-based so it can be one device or ten devices depending on your situation or model. Cost-wise, it's much more if you have more devices and features such as infrastructure monitoring, analytic dashboard, and business dashboard in your model."
