Provides efficiency in metadata storage and implementation
Many applications perform similarly to Hive, offering metadata implementations. I'm looking into their advancements, such as aggregated joins and MBT joins. Hive's virtual implementations are evolving, and tools like Snowflake offer specific use case advancements. In future releases, the Bloomfilter function should be a part of Hive. Windowing functions should also be there. I would also like to see AI implementation.

Centralized sprint boards have transformed our planning and now improve cross‑team visibility
While Jira is very powerful, there are definitely areas it could be improved, especially for usability and simplicity. One common challenge is that Jira can feel overwhelming for new users. The number of features, configurations, workflows, and settings is huge. Onboarding non-technical teams or new employees sometimes takes longer than expected. A simple default experience for a beginner would help a lot. Another issue is performance. In large organizations with heavy customizations, large backlogs, or complex dashboards, Jira can occasionally feel slow, especially when loading filters, reports, or larger boards. Pricing can also become expensive as an organization scales and multiple Atlassian products and plugins are added. Some smaller teams sometimes feel the ecosystem becomes costly over time. The mobile experience would be smoother for project managers or leadership users who mainly want quick update approvals or dashboard views on the go. Overall, Jira's biggest strength is flexibility, but that flexibility can also create complexity if not managed carefully. Improving simplicity, performance, and ease of adoption would make the platform even stronger. An additional improvement I would mention for Jira is around balancing flexibility with simplicity. Jira gives organizations a huge amount of customization power, which is great. But over time, many teams end up creating overly complicated processes. After a few years, some Jira environments become difficult to maintain because there are many workflows, custom fields, permissions, and automations layered on top of each other. It would help if Jira would provide a strong built-in recommendation or health check for keeping a project clean or efficient. For example, identifying unused custom fields, suggesting workflow simplicity improvements, flagging redundant automations, or recommending dashboard optimization.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a good solution for us when it comes to metadata implementation. It's beneficial to have metadata stored in Hive."
"It excels in handling diverse data formats and is particularly beneficial for constructing a data lake for companies with mixed data types, such as videos and structured data."
"We have been able to integrate the ecosystem we created using this automation tool, so when we run the Jenkins pipeline, the build is already automatically connected to Jira."
"Jira is a strong and reliable project management tool, especially for agile teams, offering great flexibility and tracking capabilities, and keeping workflows simple helps teams to get a better experience from it, definitely improving overall productivity."
"It handles all of the issues that we need it to do."
"We have around 2000 plus users, so scale wise, there are no issues, and we can easily scale up with multiple users."
"It is user-friendly, and you can manage your project according to the methodology you want. It is also easy to configure."
"The solution is quite easy to use, very user-friendly, and offers very good tools for Agile teams while also being very reasonably priced."
"Having used JIRA for the last 2 years, I can definitely say that having this tool with you is a big plus when it comes to project management."
"We use Jira to manage our software development lifecycle, and additionally it can be used to communicate between teams and as a management tool with many abilities."

Cons

"In future releases, I would also like to see AI implementation."
"For smaller datasets, it may not be as suitable, and its performance might not be optimal."
"There should be a way to integrate the mobile application or in some way, make it more clear because at first instance, I didn't understand how to use it."
"Lacks field-level permission in the cloud version."
"Sometimes the screens can be a bit too busy. There's often a lot of information on the screen. I think paring things down and applying some UX improvements might enhance the look and feel of the interface."
"The tool should improve its pricing."
"Jira lacks easy capacity calculation compared to TFS, making it harder to know how much work to allocate to each specialist."
"The integration of Jira could improve. The solution should be able to integrate easily with other solutions, such as ERPs. There are times the solution can be slow and we have to reset it over and over again."
"The help desk and services management features are in need of improvement."
"Yes, this is not stable as compared to other tools I managed."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an open-source solution."
"The pricing is much higher than other similar solutions available in the market, and as such, the vendor should think about a price reduction to make this product more affordable."
"The licensing cost for Jira is typically around seven dollars per user, though it may vary depending on regional variations. This cost is for a subscription-based model rather than a one-time purchase. I rate its pricing a seven out of ten."
"We used to be on a perpetual license provided by our clients."
"Almost everybody uses JIRA nowadays because it is the most cost-effective solution."
"JIRA's pricing is very economical. I would say that JIRA is a great deal more economical than Microsoft."
"We currently have ten users, and it is free for ten users."
"I don't deal with licensing in my current consultant position."
"Jira is expensive and a lot of people are choosing DevOps because they are cheaper, open-source, easy to use, and have basic licenses. Jira should decrease its price to be more competitive."
