Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery and Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 compete in the data protection and disaster recovery arena. Infrascale seems to have the upper hand due to its robust disaster recovery capabilities that ensure business continuity even during server failures.
Features: Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is known for its ability to quickly boot up VMs and spin up servers both locally and in the cloud. It also features a unified dashboard that allows straightforward management and offers Critical Server Insurance to protect various server infrastructures. Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 stands out for its selective data restoration capabilities, excellent integration with Microsoft 365, and high granularity in data recovery with ease of use.
Room for Improvement: Infrascale could enhance its pricing model for simplicity and improve geographic data diversity by replicating data across multiple data centers. Better intuitive navigation within the platform and enhanced integration features are also desirable. Veeam could offer a more flexible pricing model, ideally aligning costs with CPU cores and adding native deduplication features to optimize storage. Improvements in UI for easier configuration are also suggested.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Both Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery and Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 offer deployment options across on-premises, private, public, and hybrid clouds. Infrascale is praised for its responsive customer service, although time zone differences can pose challenges. Users acknowledge the recent improvements in support over two years. Veeam is commended for its support system, especially the effectiveness of account teams and technical support.
Pricing and ROI: Infrascale offers flexible pricing models favored by MSPs, though adjustments, especially regarding tier storage, challenge consistent cost estimates. Competitive pricing allows notable ROI through operational resilience. Veeam's pricing is seen as high but reasonable when user licenses are managed effectively. Both solutions offer strong ROI, with minimized downtime and enhanced data protection proving invaluable.
For Office 365, Microsoft has already done a good job securing their own data center, so additional backup is basically just getting another copy for on-prem safety.
Veeam is a good investment in general.
The right expertise, a timely response, and being able to get to the right person to help you resolve the problem are very important.
Their average mean time to resolve open tickets is an hour.
The most valuable aspects of Infrascale’s support for my company are the turnaround time and the resolution time.
My customers have reported that when they open a ticket, even complex issues get resolved swiftly with a remote session.
I find Veeam's customer service and support to be excellent, rating them ten out of ten.
They give us a notification very much in advance if there is a maintenance activity.
One person can manage hundreds and hundreds of endpoints without any issues.
It is very scalable because all hosting is on the cloud backup.
From organization to organization, the scalability requirement varies.
Veeam Backup is quite scalable.
I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.
There was a recent announcement in terms of moving Infrascale to the cloud, which makes it easier for the customer in terms of usability.
I have not faced any issues impacting my operations or my customers' operations.
Many customers do not rely on just one cloud provider and want to work with multiple clouds.
When the product works, there is really nothing to fix, but they can allow different types of backups, such as differential or incremental backups.
One area that needs improvement is the pricing of Veeam Backup, as it can be expensive at twenty-eight dollars per user for one year.
Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it.
Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can be improved by making it more affordable.
To someone considering Infrascale but is concerned about the price, I would say that they should get Infrascale's service no matter what it costs because any downtime or any loss of data is substantially worse than any cost for backup.
We recently renewed one of our agreements with them, and even though we were going to renew anyway, they added more margin in terms of a discount for us for renewing early.
The per-terabyte pricing is very competitive compared to the others.
Transitioning to a cloud solution was not cost-effective for us.
The initial onboarding plus the initial expenses are slightly more when compared to another cloud-to-cloud backup.
Performing backup and recovery can be done very intuitively with the solution and the interface that is part of the solution.
What I like the most about it is that backups and restores are simple, straightforward, and clean.
The most valuable features of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 are its intuitive interface, ease of use, and unlimited capacity for backup and restore.
I have utilized the granular recovery options for recovery mailbox and OneDrive.
The most beneficial thing is that it is admin-friendly, with no complicated menu structure.
