We use Ivanti Tunnel to provide and publish access to on-premise applications The product's interface needs improvement. I rate the product's stability a ten out of ten. One of our Ivanti Tunnel's customers manages 300 end users, and another customer manages 200 end users. I rate its…

User management has simplified internal VPN access and now provides clear visibility and control
I do not use any role defining features because it is a really small organization, so it wasn't required, but it is there if needed. I have seen OpenVPN Access Server integrations such as LDAP, RADIUS, PAM, and SAML, but again, due to the size of the company, it wasn't necessary and we didn't have it inside the company. However, it was nice that it is already embedded inside. We haven't used much in terms of integrations with OpenVPN Access Server, so it's hard to say. We only used basic features there. My advice for others looking to implement OpenVPN Access Server is that it is at least worth trying if you need a fast and easy implementation solution without technical overhead and you just need VPN access, which is supported by all operating systems and mobile operating system vendors. It is definitely worth a try. OpenVPN Access Server was purchased directly from the website, not on the AWS marketplace or through a partner purchase. I would rate this product an overall eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The technical support team provides good services and faster response times."
"The product provides secure internet connections and helps with faster downloads."
"I would recommend this solution to other people."
"Simple to install and maintain, easy to find documentation or help in Google."
"A valuable feature for us is its ability to see the new Citrix server as a local server within the company. And it allows us to test abroad."
"The most valuable thing about OpenVPN Access Server is its ease of use."
"Encrypted connections are, in all situations, better than unencrypted, so security is much better with OpenVPN."
"The stability is very reliable in my experience."
"Provides privacy and cryptography for my network communication."

Cons

"The product's interface needs improvement."
"The product is fully customized through configuration files, which is all achieved through manual data entry."
"There was one annoying feature where we had to disable and enable the user."
"I would be more happy with the idea of licensing to have a reduced price with longer, grouped, annual fees. We have a lot of other software that does the same thing. It's a little higher price if you're going with a shorter stint, but there's a reduction in price for three- and five-year contracts."
"The logs should be made easier to read."
"OpenVPN does not have the ability to selectively terminate connections."
"Needs a better GUI."
"OpenVPN Access Server needs to have fewer updates."
"It is not scalable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product has average pricing."
"At one point I had to purchase addition connection licenses. I was very pleased with the pricing and licensing; so much easier than navigating the confusing jungle of Microsoft and Cisco licensing and pricing. That alone made the product a delight to manage."
"OpenVPN Access Server was free for students. I don't know if you have to pay for an advanced version."
"Begin with the community version and upgrade to paid one if the need arises."
"Open VPN Access Server is open-source and free of charge."
"OpenVPN is an open-source solution. If the solution is used for personal use it is free. For non-personal use, the solution can be expensive."
"The price point is fantastic since it is free."
"The licensing has a fixed pricing."
"I don't need to pay for its license since it is an open-source tool."
