Simplifies device management, making performing various administrative tasks easier
Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded. Jamf Pro offers many features, but some improvements could make it even more user-friendly. For example, streamlining authentication controls would enhance its security value. Too many complex settings on the dashboard make it hard for users to navigate. Simplifying the settings would make it easier to use. Adding a more interactive and cleaner UI design would also improve the user experience. Additionally, automatically categorizing policies and configurations by type would be helpful, making the dashboard more organized. Introducing auto-filtering based on categories would streamline configuration management. On the security side, enabling two-factor authentication for console login would provide better protection than single sign-on. Only authorized users can access sensitive data, like the asset inventory stored in the console. 2FA would help keep the system secure, preventing unauthorized access even if login credentials are compromised. Device management needs automation, and Jamf is likely to integrate Apple's Apple Intelligence into its framework once it's available. This integration is expected to be a significant enhancement for the Jamf console, potentially transforming the way device management is handled.

Used for device management and provides automated device enrollment feature
We're happy to have a strong MDM solution like Jamf School. Not many schools can afford it, and we are lucky to have the solution. Jamf School has helped push applications to the iPad and do all the iPad System updates and app updates. With Jamf School, it's easy for teachers to monitor the iPad within the classroom and manage all the running activities. The solution's support and training resources have helped resolve user issues and manage daily tasks. It saves time and effort for us. I would recommend Jamf School to other users. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features in Jamf Pro are the policies and config profiles, making our life easy to manage many different things in one place."
"Jamf Pro has allowed us to make sure settings for our devices are easily installed so our end-users don't need to worry about a significant amount of steps for setup. We also use this to send applications to devices."
"With the countless API integrations and Jamf Marketplace add-ons, Jamf is customizable and is a total device management tool for Apple's ecosystem."
"The action and trigger is the main thing for us. We like the kind of repetitive script which we can use there."
"The time that we save in hours for new deployments, redeployments, application upgrades and OS upgrades more than makes up for the cost of the product."
"I am most excited about a feature that is called User-Initialed Enrollment."
"Some of the most valuable features for us include remote management, DEP enrollment, and zero-touch deployment."
"Patch management and associated policies help us manage and update our fleet's software."
"The overall usage is the most valuable, and it's a clear upgrade from our previous system."
"Many features of Jamf School, including automated device enrollment, have helped us manage multiple devices."
"The solution protects all our Apple products like iPads and MacBooks."
"It was straightforward to initially deploy it."

Cons

"Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates."
"I would love to see an integrated ticketing system built-in, better reporting templates to help analyze the data (software usage, etc.), and integration with FREE SSL Cert (letsencrypt.org) with auto-renewal."
"If it could do ticketing and non-Apple devices then that would be huge."
"Jamf doesn't make the Cloud file system visible so there are rare occasions where the local repository and Cloud repository get out of sync."
"Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded."
"We need better reporting options."
"We would like to have some of the extension attributes configured so that those extension attributes can be part of the core structure. They can make some of the extension attributes the actual attributes. They shouldn't be like add-ons."
"We face issues when we do not have a script and have to write a script, we need to create extension attributes."
"There is room for improvement with the security aspects, like scripting."
"Having everything centralized would be a preferable update."
"The product must improve its price."
"If you start the system update in Jamf School, you cannot stop it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup."
"The price of this solution is a bit high but it is worth the money for the features. There is an annual license for the use of this solution."
"With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet."
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must."
"They have a standard pricing model which they follow, and it's global."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"It would be beneficial if it could be reduced slightly."
"Cloud is worth the small increase in price, but make the switch before you need it, and not during a global pandemic."
"Jamf School is an expensive solution."
