Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Simplifies device management, making performing various administrative tasks easier
Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded. Jamf Pro offers many features, but some improvements could make it even more user-friendly. For example, streamlining authentication controls would enhance its security value. Too many complex settings on the dashboard make it hard for users to navigate. Simplifying the settings would make it easier to use. Adding a more interactive and cleaner UI design would also improve the user experience. Additionally, automatically categorizing policies and configurations by type would be helpful, making the dashboard more organized. Introducing auto-filtering based on categories would streamline configuration management. On the security side, enabling two-factor authentication for console login would provide better protection than single sign-on. Only authorized users can access sensitive data, like the asset inventory stored in the console. 2FA would help keep the system secure, preventing unauthorized access even if login credentials are compromised. Device management needs automation, and Jamf is likely to integrate Apple's Apple Intelligence into its framework once it's available. This integration is expected to be a significant enhancement for the Jamf console, potentially transforming the way device management is handled.

Pros

"The overall user experience is quite nice. I have no complaints from end users regarding their devices enrolled in Intune."
"I particularly appreciate the administration and security features, which can be deployed easily."
"I can see that the patch management process is much improved with the bundled patch management option available in Microsoft Intune compared to the KPI deployment required by the other deployment solutions."
"The synchronization of Intune with other Microsoft solutions is a valuable feature."
"I have seen a return on investment right from the start of the tool's usage."
"It works well if you have a Microsoft environment."
"The mobile application management, MAM, is the most useful aspect of the solution."
"The action and trigger is the main thing for us. We like the kind of repetitive script which we can use there."
"If I need to deploy an app to all the laptops, I can use the smart group I created for them instead of choosing each device one at a time."
"The most valuable features in Jamf Pro are the policies and config profiles, making our life easy to manage many different things in one place."
"There is support for Apple updates from day one. Jamf works closely with Apple, so they are ready to support new updates whenever Apple pushes them."
"It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management."
"The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment."
"The most valuable features are the Jamf agent and the API."
"Being able to push out elevation policies to users on an Adhoc basis helps us when users are not in the office."
"One of the most valuable features of Sophos Mobile is the Wifi password."
"The management and enrollment process is great, and with the asset management and instant action menu, we can easily maintain and support the users."
"Sophos Mobile offers several valuable features, such as device tracking, allowing me to know where a device is located."
"The most significant features of Sophos Mobile include controlling user installations and managing features like the camera, which can be disabled or enabled."
"Sophos Mobile is efficient in threat detection."
"I recommend Sophos Mobile to medium-sized companies."
"The initial setup process is straightforward and fast."
"The features that stand out for maintaining mobile security are compliance and the ability to install applications and configure work profiles."

Cons

"Microsoft Intune is not user-friendly to manage and has room for improvement."
"While the ability to deploy applications at startup is reliable, the policy-based application deployment method has not reached the same level of consistency."
"The support is not particularly good. Sometimes when you open a case with Microsoft, you end up resolving the issue by yourself."
"At the moment, we need more flexibility. We have some offices migrating to Windows 11 remotely. Sometimes, it is difficult to manage image installation because we have to collect some information before starting image deployment. Currently, Intune cannot collect the information needed for deploying new images."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Microsoft Intune lacks live location tracking capabilities. Improvements should be made in terms of MDM platforms for other devices."
"There are challenges with Intune, specifically in reporting. Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive. You can connect to Azure, monitoring, and the workbooks, but it's not streamlined."
"It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."
"I would love to see more integration with ASM and ABM."
"The patch management needs improvement in Jamf Pro."
"I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating."
"I would like to be able to see what policies and configuration profiles are tied to what Smart/Static groups."
"We need better reporting options."
"Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded."
"Jamf Pro could be improved by providing more out-of-the-box integration with other systems such as Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, and other IT management tools."
"The solution needs cheaper training."
"The technical support for Sophos Mobile requires improvement. I would rate it as five out of ten."
"Our support reps are based in the Philippines, and it's hard to connect with them sometimes. It took me about two months to resolve my issue, so it wasn't a good experience."
"We encounter issues while working with iOS."
"One area that could be improved is the compatibility with all mobile platforms, including iOS and Android, especially with the older versions."
"The features of Sophos Mobile could improve. The way the system works together could be better. Additionally, the integration with other Sophos products could improve."
"The area for improvement in Sophos Mobile is troubleshooting."
"The setup should be made easier."
"There's a need for better protection against hackers trying to access key accounts such as bank accounts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Most of our clients come to us with licensing already in place. On average, it costs $6 per device per month to add Intune to an Office 365 subscription, but I am not sure."
"The pricing for Microsoft Intune is reasonable. Our clients are satisfied."
"Generally, we get favorable discounts, so it's not too bad. Obviously, we're looking at decreasing those wherever we can to bring value back to the public purse because it's all charity based. It's all publicly funded."
"Pricing can be improved."
"The clients pay for a license and each can have a different type of license, such as an E3 or E5."
"Microsoft Intune costs about $7 per user per month, which is somewhat on the pricier end. That said, it's a reliable product, so it's fair."
"The overall pricing of Microsoft Intune is good for companies that have big IT budgets, 3,000 or more users and devices."
"The price of Intune is often included as part of a bundle with other Microsoft licenses, which makes it somewhat cheaper."
"The price of a training pass for five people was $18,000 USD."
"The only thing that is kicking us a bit is the rand to the dollar exchange rate. It is priced in dollars. Every time the rand goes worse, it just costs more. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing because it is very unpredictable because of the rand to the dollar exchange rate."
"The setup cost is in the training, which is the most important step of your journey."
"With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"Licensing cost is dependent on the footprint and foreseen growth."
"If you have the in-house capability to support Jamf, then paying for onboarding / JumpStart training is a no brainer."
"This product is surely worth the cost of implementation."
"The licensing fees are paid based on a one-year or two-year subscription."
"Apple is starting to do beta testing with their own solutions and for much cheaper than Sophos Mobile's price."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"The product is not suitable for smaller companies because its price is high."
"Sophos Mobile is inexpensive."
"My company needs to make yearly payments for the licensing charges attached to the product."
"The licensing is paid on a yearly basis."
