Has supported centralized management of all Apple devices while ensuring high security and compliance
I have not encountered many areas for improvement, but there are feature requests submitted to Jamf Pro for reporting purposes that they are working on. Jamf Pro continues to increase its capabilities. One improvement I would recommend is integrating Jamf Setup Manager as an inbuilt feature. Currently, it is a separate tool that needs to be installed and integrated with Jamf Pro. Having zero-touch capability as an inbuilt feature would eliminate the need to work with scripts and configurations. The pricing of Jamf Pro is relatively high. Jamf Pro does not have a fixed price for all organizations. Based on my experience, they offer discounts inconsistently. Due to the high pricing, many organizations are moving to InTune and Workspace ONE. There are many other tools in the market for Mac OS device management, such as ScaleFusion, Addigy, and Kandji. Small organizations are moving to these alternatives, and larger organizations with fewer security concerns are moving to InTune. Despite being expensive, I still rate Jamf Pro highly because of its security features and comprehensive management capabilities for Mac OS devices.

Streamlined endpoint deployment has improved configuration and security workflows
It's a great tool that provides a lot of assistance from the Windows perspective with configuration and many other things. The newest feature that came up with AI is particularly valuable. I haven't used much of Windows Autopilot as it's very new to me. It's a cloud-based technology from Microsoft for performing the setup and pre-configuration of Windows devices. The way it assists in automated setup and streamlined deployment is great. I don't see any cons as of now.

Pros

"We can set custom deployments based on every available parameter in macOS."

"Smart groups and just the way MDM works are valuable. We like all the features that they have. We try to use it as much as possible, and then we have the support and community involvement to reach out to."
"If I need to deploy an app to all the laptops, I can use the smart group I created for them instead of choosing each device one at a time."
"We are able to manage our full fleet of devices and can simply integrate with all of our systems."
"We could not handle the volume of devices as an Apple school without Jamf Pro managing our fleet."
"Navigation is straightforward. It's not hard to create policies and manage the device. It's a lot simpler to create smart groups, view inventory, and see what the estate looks like."
"It gives us the flexibility to offer near zero-touch deployment when onboarding employees remotely and allows us to standardize our policies organization-wide."
"Windows Autopilot's most valuable features are its automatic enrollment functionality and ability to detect and configure new devices seamlessly."
"Windows Autopilot automates much of the setup process when delivering computers with a specific image to multiple employees simultaneously. It streamlines the configuration loading process, making it more unattended and yielding consistent results. This eliminates the need for an engineer to input data on each machine manually."
"The solution is very stable."
"Windows Autopilot is very stable."

Cons

"I would like to see improved integration of some of the additional tools that users create within Jamf itself."
"For Windows, we have a reset option. We'd like that option available for Mac."
"I'd like to see better reporting features."
"We would like to have some of the extension attributes configured so that those extension attributes can be part of the core structure. They can make some of the extension attributes the actual attributes. They shouldn't be like add-ons."
"There needs to be a mass policy change tool."
"The prices are expensive and should be reduced."
"The pricing of Jamf Pro is relatively high. Jamf Pro does not have a fixed price for all organizations. Based on my experience, they offer discounts inconsistently."

"If Microsoft can automatically add the license serial numbers, or have a method for us to get those serial numbers added to Windows Autopilot, apart from having to go through the device manufacturer that would greatly improve the solution."
"They could provide an executable and user-friendly wizard for installation and automatic removal, making it easier for users."
"Windows Autopilot could improve its user interface. While it is a good tool, there are other options available that are more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of this solution is a bit high but it is worth the money for the features. There is an annual license for the use of this solution."
"The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup."
"The setup cost is in the training, which is the most important step of your journey."
"Licensing cost is dependent on the footprint and foreseen growth."
"I think it pays for itself to let Jamf host the server."
"It would be beneficial if it could be reduced slightly."
"I know that as a school we get a discounted price, which is good because without it we would not be able to afford it."
"The cost of this solution is expensive but worth it."
"As far as I know, there isn't an additional cost specifically for Windows Autopilot itself. You'll need to consider the licensing fees for the software you install on the machines, such as Windows and Office. Overall, it is a valuable tool that simplifies the deployment process, making life easier for those involved."
"We are required to have a license for either EMS, E5, or E2."
