Has a simple interface, is easy to use, and has good stability
It's really easy to use and has a simple interface.  The networking could use improvement.  One to three years. Stability is good.  Scalability is just fine. We have fifty users, most of them are admin roles.  Their technical support is very good. They are very helpful. The initial setup was…

Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's really easy to use and has a simple interface."
"Do it."
"The flexibility in configuration is this product’s most valuable feature."
"Technical side: The level of detail (building blocks) in configuration (setup) makes it scalable and secure on a functional level, as well as on a data level."
"Poor user experience."
"The advanced scheduler helps to ensure proper staffing."
"We've seen a lot more cohesiveness in our organization since we started using EBS."
"When I put these aside, EBS saves time and increases the efficiency for the customers."
"Technical support is good, and they offer different types of support."
"It saves on cost, time, people, and human resources."
"In one shot, we know what is happening."
"We've run our business on it for 15 years now."
"Oracle EBS adapts to our business rules, so we don't have to change them, whereas SAP is rigid."
"Online patching, which lets administrators apply patches on the fly and with minimum downtime to make it active."

Cons

"Customer Service: 3/10 Technical Support: I would give technical support a rating of 3/10. A lot of the time, their technical support person did not understand the issue."
"Poor user experience. Web based, but requires old version of Java on the desktop which is a security nightmare."
"Licenses are expensive."
"The setup was complex."
"The networking could use improvement."
"Java continues to be an issue for organizations that are running multiple products."
"Support could be improved."
"We are on a slightly older version as we don't apply as many patches as Oracle recommends because we feel it's not stable. So we've definitely had some stability issues that have prevented us from moving forward for the product."
"The UI isn't up to speed with most digital marketing-style interfaces."
"One issue with the product is because it build on a lot of older technologies, there is a substantial technical debt in the system."
"They started on the mobile app and tablets, but still I see there are no short-forms used in EBS."
"Earlier when our organization was small they chose Oracle because in the telecommunication industry everybody was using Oracle. Our company has grown to a size where our particularly billing phase has created some challenges and now we are looking at alternate solutions. There is not a billing engine or module that you can buy from Oracle that can be added to this EBS solution to fix our problem. They should add a billing module or engine to the solution."
"The user interface is not completely a web interface, it uses a lot of traffic which costs too much for a large number of users scattered throughout the country as they connect from their terminals to do their tasks."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is expensive."
"There is an annual licensing fee and you are able to add features depending on the scope of the environment."
"The pricing of the solution is at about $700-$750 per year."
"Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
"It's quite expensive, even though they gave us a discount."
"USD $100,000 annually."
"In my opinion, the prices for Oracle ERP are reasonable, especially considering the various discounts that are often available."
"At the time of purchasing the license the price was reasonable."
"The pricing is high."
