Has a simple interface, is easy to use, and has good stability
It's really easy to use and has a simple interface.  The networking could use improvement.  One to three years. Stability is good.  Scalability is just fine. We have fifty users, most of them are admin roles.  Their technical support is very good. They are very helpful. The initial setup was…

Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Do it."
"Technical side: The level of detail (building blocks) in configuration (setup) makes it scalable and secure on a functional level, as well as on a data level."
"The advanced scheduler helps to ensure proper staffing."
"The flexibility in configuration is this product’s most valuable feature."
"Poor user experience."
"It's really easy to use and has a simple interface."
"The solution's very scalable, being used by organizations from very small businesses to multi-billion dollar organizations."
"E-Business Suite's best features are the standard process, the table dictionary, and the ability to work with the SQL language to correlate data."
"In one shot, we know what is happening."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is flexible, and its rich functionality can work in any client environment or business."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is a stable product."
"The most valuable features of the product are Oracle Process Manufacturing, the module for custom production, raw material conjunction and finished good tracking; Oracle Cash; Procure to Pay; and the full circle."
"Oracle is the best solution, I would recommend this solution to others."
"This solution offers customization. You'll have the ability to change and add your custom solutions and integrate them with the standard ones."

Cons

"The setup was complex."
"Customer Service: 3/10 Technical Support: I would give technical support a rating of 3/10. A lot of the time, their technical support person did not understand the issue."
"Poor user experience. Web based, but requires old version of Java on the desktop which is a security nightmare."
"The networking could use improvement."
"Licenses are expensive."
"The support site is the only bad thing I've seen with Oracle. Unless you type in the exact right words, you don't get the right answers."
"Oracle E-Business Suite should be more detailed and user-friendly. I should be able to customize the screen or application without needing technical support."
"The biggest frustration I have with Oracle is that they have taken an acquisition approach. Because of this, the modules don't talk to each other."
"An area for improvement is related to the flexibility of the processes in Oracle ERP. It is challenging to change processes within the system, which sometimes hampers our ability to quickly adapt to new requirements."
"Reporting is a big area for improvement. It needs to provide the ability to extract data from the suite. Oracle has also been making a great effort to make E-Business Suite more user-friendly but there are still areas where a focus on User Experience would help."
"Improving the reporting and user interface of Oracle ERP would be beneficial and is something that can be considered for future updates."
"In the future, Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by having a better UI. Competitors are providing much better interfaces."
"I think that is a weakness that E-Business is really more like a module that connects things than a complete solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is expensive."
"The license is very expensive and I think that it needs to be cheaper to get a wider range of users or customers."
"I would rate the pricing a nine out of ten, with ten being very expensive."
"The pricing is high."
"We pay about $300 a year in order to license the solution."
"E-Business Suite's pricing could be lower."
"Oracle's pricing is on the higher end."
"At the time of purchasing the license the price was reasonable."
"I have found the solution overall to be expensive. There are additional fees on top of the standard license."
