Has a simple interface, is easy to use, and has good stability
It's really easy to use and has a simple interface.  The networking could use improvement.  One to three years. Stability is good.  Scalability is just fine. We have fifty users, most of them are admin roles.  Their technical support is very good. They are very helpful. The initial setup was…

Decades of use have delivered secure, customizable control for public sector operations and finance
I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The advanced scheduler helps to ensure proper staffing."
"The flexibility in configuration is this product’s most valuable feature."
"Do it."
"Technical side: The level of detail (building blocks) in configuration (setup) makes it scalable and secure on a functional level, as well as on a data level."
"It's really easy to use and has a simple interface."
"Poor user experience."
"The customization and catering to our specific needs have helped, with obvious benefits as the streamlining process is accelerating and it aids me from an auditing perspective since it's all system-driven and cannot be altered."
"In general, this solution is user friendly and also performs well. There are two types of forms. One is a standardized form, which you can define things into. The other, you can customize so more repetition can be done in an even manner. That way, it can be designed for what the public or user actually wants. It's not very tough for any person, or layman to understand exactly what the screen requires one to do."
"The customizations allow us to come up with a lot of complex labor rules. In the Philippines, there's a lot of different kinds of rules you need to be in compliance with. The solution offers up a lot of flexibility and customization that is perfect for our region's requirements."
"Peoplesoft is the best payroll software in the market."
"We use a lot of typical cases from PeopleSoft, for example, solutions for security, business performance, monitoring processes, and a lot of training."
"We find the Campus Solutions very valuable."
"If the organization has a sufficient budget and wants to manage talent and support business objectives, then this is the answer."
"PeopleSoft is mostly used for payroll and core HR functionality, and some customers use it for its finance module."

Cons

"Licenses are expensive."
"Poor user experience. Web based, but requires old version of Java on the desktop which is a security nightmare."
"The setup was complex."
"The networking could use improvement."
"Customer Service: 3/10 Technical Support: I would give technical support a rating of 3/10. A lot of the time, their technical support person did not understand the issue."
"The main area for improvement would be with performance in some cases, specifically with migrations."
"In my opinion, it needs more performance, maybe something technical related, because it's very slow for us and even small activities take a while."
"The solution needs to work on its mobile technology."
"The reporting needs to be improved."
"The learning and development side of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"There should be more analytics, monitoring analytics, and also machine learning should be incorporated into the core product."
"The solution needs to work on its mobile technology. We're hoping in the next version we're working on implementing, 9.2, will have more of this."
"The solution's initial setup is not straightforward."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is expensive."
"It's approximately $3,000,000 to $4,000,000 USD per year."
"Check all options before a decision is made."
"The licensing cost for PeopleSoft is 3,500 per course and the annual subscription fee is 6,500."
"PeopleSoft has a yearly maintenance fee."
"We are a University and the cost and license are negotiated privately."
"The tool is expensive."
"This solution offers annual licensing. We pay per user."
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being expensive."

The pricing is customer-specific, so I am not generally privy to what the pricing for licensing is. However, generally, I think PeopleSoft is certainly cheaper than cloud solutions.
