Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

A highly stable and scalable remote tool that can be used for remote solutions
LogMeIn is a remote tool that I use for remote solutions The solution’s pricing could be improved. We are a service integrator and have been using LogMeIn Rescue for quite a while now. I rate LogMeIn Rescue ten out of ten for stability. Our customers are mostly medium and enterprise…

Accessing the same desktop experience from anywhere but user template creation needs improvement
Mostly we are quite happy with it. However, some of us want a more powerful desktop. When not present, we use a remote tool called Splashtop, which is a good solution for some users. We have about ten licenses for those who need a powerful workstation at the office. We have not used many different tools. We are never in contact with Microsoft. These are quite basic configurations, to be honest. It's not complicated. AI is coming to or is already in some applications we are using. Not system-wise, however, it might be good. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. It's quite good, yet certainly not perfect.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are the ones that make sure that the deployment is of a standard operating system and the Zero Touch deployment, which is very useful. This allows users to have an out of box experience."
"The best features include the management, which is quite good, and endpoints."
"The stability of Microsoft Intune is good."
"The biggest asset is the range of device management options available with Intune, whether it is a Windows device, a Linux device, a Mac device, or mobile devices."
"When managing a large number of devices in an organization, it becomes easy to handle them on one platform using Microsoft Intune."
"The system itself is great."
"The many policies available in Microsoft Intune for managing our devices are valuable."
"The core management feature in Intune is invaluable to us, especially considering the challenges we often face with System Center when pushing external updates."
"The multiple connect methods really help with users who are not tech savvy or knowledgeable about their own computers."
"There’s something called the dial-in so for people that use us all the time, we can have an icon on their screen and they can click that icon and we connect to them."
"For people whose computers we maintain, we can have those computers on file. Without having somebody to invite us, we can actually log in automatically, and that’s unlimited."
"It allows us to rapidly solve issues for our customers on a remote basis, regardless of the location of the customer."
"I can remote reboot and know I can reconnect automatically without having to have the end user log back in again."
"The initial setup is easy. If you want the desktop program, you just download and install it."
"The desktop sharing allows our clients to demonstrate the issue they are having, and then allows us to provide remediation directly."
"I have technicians all over, and not everybody is an expert in all areas. They are able to bring other expertise from different locations with the click of a mouse. They can invite in other technicians, so I can have most of the technicians collaborate on the same question, and that’s really amazing."
"Microsoft is very reasonable in its approach to cost."
"The initial setup is not that difficult. I have gone through the RDS initialization steps, which only seem easy."
"You can scale the product."
"The solution works well as a remote desktop."
"It's simple and easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is managing the remote desktop end user or remote server."
"I've had good experiences with Microsoft customer support."
"It allows employees to log on to corporate resources remotely."

Cons

"It needs certificate provisioning for S/MIME purposes."
"In terms of the admin experience, it is straightforward, but the Windows enrollment experience could be improved. Sometimes, for enrollment, we have to reset devices and re-enroll them. Just configuring Windows, Azure, or Active Directory doesn't enroll the devices. We need easy enrollment for Windows."
"I think there should be a better tracking of the cell phones used on the Intune."
"A new Intune feature allows application packaging, but it incurs additional licensing costs for a significant number of applications."
"I rate Microsoft support four out of 10. Support is one area where Microsoft needs to improve a lot. I recently raised a ticket for a Microsoft Azure issue, and it took two and a half weeks for support to reply. They need to improve support across their entire catalog of products."
"Integrating certain group policies can be challenging and may necessitate using on-premises systems to integrate them with Microsoft Intune."
"If you wish to block any App Store application, there is no way to do so."
"Intune doesn't provide much control over Windows servers. It's something we struggle with."
"I do wish there was an application to manage all of the admin properties of the subscription, rather than having to use the web portal."
"Nothing's perfect but I think it's really a great tool just the way it is. The suggestion that I made to them at their user advisory board is that they combine the two products, Rescue and Central, into one because you really should have both. A bunch of the other people in that meeting very much liked that."
"Support to remotely control more mobile devices' screens is desperately needed. It is sad to see how long this product has been out and how many phones are still not supported for, specifically, remote screen control."
"Network browsing and connecting on the LAN, because if you can't see the computers on your network, what good is the product?"
"I wish this product was tied to a Help Desk package so I could manage tickets and have an infrastructure, with this being the primary tool to troubleshoot."
"We are currently supporting Linux, but there are certain limitations. We are currently working on improving Linux support and addressing certain limitations in the roadmap."
"The solution’s pricing could be improved."
"it needs better iOS integration. It's still limited in its functionality when it comes to iOS. Currently, when you do something other than iOS, you're not able to take control of what's going on; instead of having to tell the user, "Click here, click there," I would like to have full control over an iOS device."
"I would like to see the hard drives work without locking up and integrate the local drives in the next release."
"I want to connect easily from an external network even when I'm not in my enterprise or company. It should be easy to connect or integrate Microsoft Teams, for example, with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services."
"The user interface needs improvement."
"Security in the connection between us and our clients' servers is something that can be improved."
"Microsoft should be more compatible with other operating system."
"I rate Microsoft's customer service support a two out of ten. In general, Microsoft has poor support."
"Remote Desktop Services doesn't scale well."
"In the past, my company had faced some issues related to the stability of the product. The product's stability can be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"We don't get Intune as a separate module. Most of the time, we use it within an enterprise agreement like E3 or E5. Those licenses are at a good price, but what is annoying is that every single year they go higher."
"It's a part of Microsoft 365 and E5 licenses. Microsoft's strategy of making every feature in Microsoft Intune paid needs optimization. Remote control is one of the basic features, not a luxury feature, yet we must pay for it. I"
"Pricing depends on the features. Microsoft offers special packages if there are more than 10,000 users, and you may be able to get a reduced rate."
"My team members bundled it together with their Microsoft solutions, including Microsoft 365 and related products."
"There is a license needed to use the solution and we are on an annual license."
"Microsoft Intune costs about $7 per user per month, which is somewhat on the pricier end. That said, it's a reliable product, so it's fair."
"We have a limited budget for security investments, so Microsoft should consider reducing pricing in our region. This would make investment more viable, especially since larger businesses in other countries can afford it easily."
"Right now, I'm using ScreenConnect, which is about $45 per technician. Unless I buy LogMeIn with a large license and commit for the long-term and prepay, I will have to pay almost $120 per user a month. It's almost three times the price over the normal price for ScreenConnect, which is very similar in regards to all of the features that LogMeIn Rescue can do."
"The pricing is a little on the higher side, though."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten."
"It is on the medium to high side. For us, it is worth it. For the amount of time they save us, it pretty much pays for itself."
"The only downside is pricing. I think each technician license is somewhere around $100 or $120 a month now. So if you have a lot of technicians, it can get expensive, for a small business."
"The cost of LogMeIn is high... I went with another product that was going to give me savings of 50%. One technician tested it, he gave us the thumbs up. Then once we moved all my technicians to it, but it didn’t work... Trying to move from LogMeIn hindered our performance and productivity and it was not worth the savings."
"I did look into a couple of other products, TeamViewer in particular, at one point. The price point of Rescue, compared to some of the other things that are in the marketplace right now, is high. But it's what I would call the "Cadillac" of the industry."
"It's definitely worth the value."
"The cost is fair."
"The price of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is reasonable. The solution can come for free for some clients with certain agreements."
"The tool must be cheaper."
"The solution is overly expensive."
"I think that Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is expensive compared to Login solution."
"The price of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is reasonable."
"The solution is expensive. Since things are made to be a bit easier in the solution, the solution's cost is a bit on the higher side."
"The solution has a perpetual license and it is purchased upfront."
