Useful for lead capture and engagement across social media platforms
Before Marketo, I worked on the Oracle Eloqua platform, both B2B-based. Currently, I'm working on Salesforce Marketing Cloud. So, these are the three platforms on which I have good hands-on expertise. One key reason platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud are gaining traction is that they invest in marketing campaigns. They conduct many virtual and live events, aggressively marketing their products. This strategy convinces C-suite executives to buy into and implement the Salesforce platform, something that other bigger platforms lack. Most companies are migrating to Salesforce. I've migrated one of my projects from Marketo to Salesforce and encountered many opportunities where companies want to migrate from Marketo, HubSpot, or Oracle Eloqua to Salesforce. I've worked on Oracle Eloqua, which is also a B2B platform, and I've also worked on Marketo. The lead scoring, table structure, and rules we apply are quite straightforward compared to Marketo. In Marketo, it's a bit clumsy. Regarding lead scoring or moving leads through the sales funnel, Oracle Eloqua is better, but it's a bit pricey. So, Marketo ranks second in lead scoring or managing leads, and it highly depends on the respective CRM. The tool tracks significant events, such as form fills on websites or social media handles. All this data is captured and stored in Marketo for analysis. Marketo Analytics is connected with Adobe Analytics. This integration offers detailed reports on total clicks, views, form fills, subscriptions, lead conversions, and more. It's straightforward compared to Oracle Eloqua, which has its own Oracle Business Intelligence suite.Marketo's reporting tools are easy to use, making it a plug-and-play solution for anyone.

Co-branded content has reached partners faster and personalized campaigns have improved engagement
It's fairly easy to implement StructuredWeb within my existing marketing processes, probably a seven or eight on a scale of 1 to 10. Navigating through what they call the small journeys for setting up the marketing campaigns is more complicated; I'd rate that probably a five, as we're just starting some of that process now, and one of the reasons we haven't started until now is that it's quite complicated. The complexity in navigating the setup hasn't affected the speed of launching marketing campaigns significantly; there are some internal processes that contribute. The biggest issue that affected our speed of launching was the content upload process, where certain formats are easy for StructuredWeb to upload, while others take more time and are more manual. StructuredWeb is very focused on partner marketing and certainly competes as a best-of-breed solution. There are other platforms that have elements of what StructuredWeb offers, but from what I've seen, it's very high for a partner marketing-specific platform. The effectiveness of the personalized content delivery in enhancing partner engagement is a very strong component; however, the only criticism we've received from partners is that sometimes our rules about what can be edited on the content are too restrictive for them. They would appreciate seeing us exercise more flexibility and less control. But that's an internal policy issue, not a problem with StructuredWeb. Managing personalized content for different partners within StructuredWeb really comes down to partner size and resources. Larger partners typically use the platform to occasionally co-brand the content and then download it without extensive editing. In contrast, smaller partners, who may not have their own marketing platforms, engage in more extensive editing on the StructuredWeb platform and sometimes deploy from there and sometimes from their own platform. We haven't really utilized the AI assistant for creating and distributing marketing content yet. There are two AI models: one internal and one external, where we haven't launched the external one available to our partners via the platform. The internal one has been experimented with, but due to turnover in staff, those initially trained are no longer with us, so we feel we're back to square one. Additionally, the AI component is somewhat tedious due to our AI council regulations within Imnissa, which has restricted us from using all capabilities from StructuredWeb. I would rate StructuredWeb an eight out of ten.

Pros

"It is a very user-friendly solution. I'm mainly working on Design Studio, which is useful for companies in tracking repeat users. The progressive proofing is also useful. It is not available in other solutions."
"Marketo gives me the toolset necessary to create automated drip email campaigns to my customers and prospects, delivering HUGE ROI with great customer service and a relatively nimble dev team always willing to help, even in special or one-off scenarios."
"The most valuable features of Marketo are its ease of use and flexibility."
"Advanced capabilities for closed-loop lead management"
"I like that the solution is flexible."
"I like that Marketo is user-friendly and has an easy view. It's like a one-stop solution for everyone. It is very good, and you can categorize leads in different ways. You can also create your custom objects and enjoy good connectivity."
"The main highlights of Marketo are its support structure, the documentation available, and the features mainly related to forms, landing pages, and leads. Although other platforms like Oracle Eloqua have similar features, Marketo's support structure, lead generation, and segmentation features are easier than those of different platforms."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is Smart Campaigns."
"The most glaring benefit I've observed from using StructuredWeb for partner marketing is the ability to get out co-branded materials in a much faster fashion, which keeps our partners engaged."
"The best part is that they have these Assistant AI and Edit AI capabilities that truly allow our partners to take our demand gen campaigns and essentially utilize our back-end data to build out accurate claims around our technologies."
"Consolidating everything in one single tool—StructuredWeb—has allowed us to save costs through the process and solve for lower management costs from our perspective, and also helped us to provide a better experience for our partners because now everything is in the same tool instead of managing two different tools that do not talk to each other easily, improving the experience for partners."

Cons

"Marketo's reporting and dashboarding features could be better. Compared to other tools, the visualization options with charts and graphs seem somewhat limited."
"Marketo filters are not very efficient, and timely updates or features could improve this aspect."
"Marketo should give more power to the users for data manipulation."
"I had an issue while integrating JavaScript with forms. When you embed JavaScript, you can either embed it in a landing page or some other self-contained management system like WordPress. Currently, it provides you access to CSS, where you can customize your form design, but there is no option for JavaScript modification for a particular form. This area needs to be improved where you can integrate JavaScript, and it has the JavaScript functions for that particular form. There are a lot of other areas of improvement. In the design area, they can give us more testing options instead of relying on email testing alone. It would be great if they can provide responsive testing where email clients can be tested within Marketo. It would be also helpful if they can implement some in-built options for users or forms for blocking a generic email ID such as Yahoo or Gmail. Similarly, it would be helpful to have JavaScript features and forms as well as the option to add Google analytics and a header and footer for the landing pages."
"Its APIs need to be more flexible because there are some things that are not available in the API."
"Segmentation in Marketo is limited to a maximum of 20 segments. Depending on the company's specific needs, these segments can be based on various attributes such as company, industry, or other values. Sometimes, there's a lag when sending data from Marketo to any CRM. It can take around five to fifteen minutes for the report to sync."
"It could be more scalable."
"There is a bit of room for improvement in the level-one support team. It relies too much on documentation."
"Areas that may have room for improvement include continuing to evolve as AI continues to evolve; the capabilities and the use cases of how AI can be used for partners are areas they are developing."
"If anything, it would be the pricing. I get nervous about how many partners will use the service, as it is based on a schedule."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Marketo is too expensive for a small-sized company but more affordable for a larger-sized company."
"Marketo is used a lot because it's cheaper and preferred by many firms."
"The pricing is not cheap, but it's not that expensive either."
"It is expensive. We have a yearly license."
"The initial pricing was excellent, but the pricing for renewals is not as good."
"Marketo's pricing depends on the number of contacts and the level of features you need. Compared to other platforms like Oracle Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo is generally more affordable. Like other platforms, it offers different packages based on your needs."
"I'm not sure about the cost because I don't get into this aspect. Clients normally take care of that. I only know that it is costly, and I don't think there are any additional costs to the licensing."
"The licensing cost usually depends on the users."
