Effective lead management and useability with room for reporting improvements
Customer support could be more helpful. The reporting could be better, with more engaging reports and the ability to collaborate more objects, like opportunities. Incorporating AI features similar to tools like HubSpot and Salesforce account engagement would be beneficial. Additionally, Marketo should work on automating tools and updating the product since it looks similar to how it did five years ago.

Integration with CRM and third-party systems significantly boosts campaign management
The native integration could be improved, as Oracle Eloqua has decommissioned it. Manual uploads require changing the data priority order to top priority. Sometimes form capturing data fails, and campaign response issues occur. The pricing of Oracle Eloqua is quite high as it is an Oracle product. Compared to other marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Pardot, the price point is higher. The technical support is rated at eight because it can be difficult to get in touch with them after working hours. Support is only available during business hours, so if assistance is needed outside of the nine-to-five window, users must wait until the next day.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One of the most important things about Marketo is its focus on GDPR compliance. It helps you follow GDPR and CAN-SPAM rules. For example, with Marketo, I won't accidentally target audiences without their consent. Firstly, the Marketo Insights system will highlight new customer segments that I should engage with."
"With the scoring and how we deploy it, we have a greater integration between Marketo and Salesforce, which allows our sales team to focus on people we believe are ready for conversations, rather than everyone they had to talk to before."
"It's pretty good at handling customization and templates. We can put in different variables, so even someone without coding knowledge can create and develop emails that look good on different browsers."
"We have a better alignment of sales and marketing."
"Advanced capabilities for closed-loop lead management"
"Marketo helps us easily segment and target the appropriate users for the relevant events."
"This is the best marketing automation solution out there, for the ease of use, the amazing metrics, the integration to SFDC, and the price."
"The most valuable feature is the scoring."
"In Oracle Eloqua, the most valuable feature from the marketer's user experience perspective is the design editor, which is very feasible, allowing a marketer to design emails and landing pages in a very short amount of time through drag and drop of email components, making them ready to use instantly."
"The most valuable feature for us is that it integrates with our CRM content management system."
"If invested in properly, a worthwhile and extremely beneficial tool that I would advocate to any company looking for something that really delivers functionality and results"
"The solution is stable."
"Eloqua10 is a great tool for marketing automation for both B2B and B2C companies."
"I've used other marketing automation tools, like Marketo, that require more technical knowledge. Eloqua is straightforward and user-friendly."
"Eloqua has a drag-and-drop interface based on HTML5 and is the easiest WYSIWYG editor for creating landing pages and HTML emails that I've ever seen."
"It is a necessity in the world of marketing to have a strong marketing automation tool."

Cons

"Wish it had a better user interface"
"Marketo is still very slow."
"Marketo should give more power to the users for data manipulation."
"Marketo filters are not very efficient, and timely updates or features could improve this aspect."
"I had an issue while integrating JavaScript with forms. When you embed JavaScript, you can either embed it in a landing page or some other self-contained management system like WordPress. Currently, it provides you access to CSS, where you can customize your form design, but there is no option for JavaScript modification for a particular form. This area needs to be improved where you can integrate JavaScript, and it has the JavaScript functions for that particular form. There are a lot of other areas of improvement. In the design area, they can give us more testing options instead of relying on email testing alone. It would be great if they can provide responsive testing where email clients can be tested within Marketo. It would be also helpful if they can implement some in-built options for users or forms for blocking a generic email ID such as Yahoo or Gmail. Similarly, it would be helpful to have JavaScript features and forms as well as the option to add Google analytics and a header and footer for the landing pages."
"One limitation is the user limit. For bigger organizations with large audience sizes exceeding, let's say, 500k, the solution may not be as efficient as larger enterprise platforms like Salesforce or Oracle Eloqua. However, Marketo is one of the best platforms for mid-scale and small-scale organisations."
"The user interface could be improved."
"Adobe, the parent company, needs to improve on getting more information published to allow users to educate themselves on how to use the solution."
"The solution does not have a good database architecture."
"It could be a bit more intuitive for the average user. The segmentation portion is difficult for a marketer with no marketing operations experience to understand."
"The dashboards or the data which we get from insights reports could be improved."
"There are some things where improvement is needed. For me, it would be great if they integrated a tool like AI configuration capabilities within Eloqua itself."
"Data manipulation tools are lacking. Documentation is sketchy and often incomplete."
"Some times new features get rolled out too soon, but the good thing is they constantly adapt to the demands of their customers."
"The solution should consider adding functionality related to event listening, such as webhooks."
"The UI of the reporting tool (Insight) is a bit dated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Marketo's pricing depends on the number of contacts and the level of features you need. Compared to other platforms like Oracle Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo is generally more affordable. Like other platforms, it offers different packages based on your needs."
"Marketo is too expensive for a small-sized company but more affordable for a larger-sized company."
"I'm not sure about the cost because I don't get into this aspect. Clients normally take care of that. I only know that it is costly, and I don't think there are any additional costs to the licensing."
"The pricing is not cheap, but it's not that expensive either."
"The licensing cost usually depends on the users."
"The initial pricing was excellent, but the pricing for renewals is not as good."
"Marketo is used a lot because it's cheaper and preferred by many firms."
"The solution is expensive compared to others."
"It's quite expensive."
"The tool is pricey compared to products like Marketo."
"Oracle Eloqua is quite an affordable solution."
"Oracle Eloqua's pricing is medium."
"The solution is expensive."
"Oracle Eloqua can be expensive compared to alternatives."
"Our licensing costs are yearly."
