Used for troubleshooting and receiving real-time alerts and works on artificial intelligence
I always recommend Marvis to every customer because it requires no additional direct involvement. Marvis has been developed well using AI and machine learning technology. Its AI engine updates itself regularly, which is a beneficial feature. I request that Juniper integrate a cloud identity engine and simplify the Microsoft Azure Active Directory Services integration with the SRX hardware firewall. Additionally, the SRX firewall needs a more robust graphical user interface. Currently, we can only configure the SRX using the CLI; if a wrong command is entered, restoring it cannot be easy. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Has improved troubleshooting efficiency with AI-driven insights but requires a simpler user interface
Mist AI and Cloud has integrated artificial intelligence and introduced a Marvis tool, making troubleshooting much easier compared to Cisco, Extreme, or any other vendor. The Marvis tool includes Marvis Action and Marvis Mini. In Marvis Mini, you can enter the MAC address, site name, or device name to get complete details of any issues the device is facing. If you enter the MAC address of a device, it will show the types of issues such as roaming, authentication, or IP address problems. This eliminates the need to manually search for errors on the controller. The troubleshooting has been significantly simplified through Marvis Mini, which is integrated with AI. Additionally, Marvis Action helps with alerting and monitoring, showing how many devices are down and what kinds of connectivity, DHCP, or authentication issues exist, providing alerts without the need to manually monitor all devices. Mist AI and Cloud is very effective at managing user experience through its AI capabilities. It helps reduce downtime by providing alerts that allow us to work directly on issues without waiting for system failures.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Marvis Virtual Network Assistant uses AI to find problems or to get information from devices."
"If you ask any questions about Marvis, it will respond immediately and use some solution. It will be very easy and save you time."
"Mist is a really good tool that provides essential AI information from an operational point of view, covering both wireless and switching."
"It's really easy to provision and support. Those are its main features."
"The most valuable aspect is that they operate on small microservices, offering numerous open APIs that enhance the value of our Wi-Fi network. This flexibility allows us to optimize various aspects such as workforce planning and occupancy management. The platform is highly open in the market, providing robust APIs for seamless integration with other tools. Currently, we leverage these capabilities at a building site, incorporating IoT sensors to gather data. The collected data is stored in a centralized location, and we plan to use AI for analysis. This analysis will include insights on peak activity times, humidity levels, temperature variations, and other relevant metrics within the building."
"The triangulation feature can be used to determine where a person is in relation to the access point."
"Mist AI and Cloud has integrated artificial intelligence and introduced a Marvis tool, making troubleshooting much easier compared to Cisco, Extreme, or any other vendor."
"I have a very good experience with the solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Natural language patching is an important feature."
"AI is the most valuable feature."

Cons

"It should add real-time application visibility."
"It would be a good idea to integrate the solution to support other vendors besides Juniper."
"Regarding opportunities for improvement in Mist, it is notable for its robust cloud portal and integration of artificial intelligence into various services, creating a highly efficient environment for work. However, a drawback lies in the cost associated with its WiFi offerings. With a pricing range of twelve hundred to fifteen hundred dollars for a single Access Point, exclusive of the subscription, it is acknowledged as a relatively expensive solution in the realm of WiFi services. Despite this drawback, the positive attributes of Mist make it a noteworthy option."
"Mist AI and Cloud need to improve the configuration speed."
"Currently, the solution lacks the ability to configure with other solutions from other vendors."
"Mist AI and Cloud should be marketed more and focus on making partners in the industry."
"There seems to be different versions of standards used in the wireless access points. In the future, it would be helpful if the solution could come up with some kind of universal standard for all devices and all access points."
"The solution lacks documentation."
"There are many aspects of AI, and how acquisitions are proceeding, particularly between Juniper and Aruba, remains unclear."
"There could be more integration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is not an expensive solution."
"The solution's price is too high for the end-users. My customers pay 1,000 USD towards the licensing cost of the solution every year."
"Depending on the features, I think it's quite reasonably priced, especially considering the facilities of the product."
"Mist AI and Cloud is expensive."
"I rate the pricing a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is low and ten is high."
"The price is about the same compared to other vendors. There is an add-on license, but it's up to you if you want to buy it or not."
"The solution is expensive in Brazil."
"The price is not cheap, but it's a reliable solution and very easy for management."
"The annual cost is a significant issue for us, and it notably contributes to the overall price. We have a customer with nearly fifty-eight access points in a multifunctional building, and while the setup was relatively simple, the yearly licensing cost is substantial. For the specific features we utilize, the licensing amounts to about forty thousand euros annually. This is not a trivial expense and significantly impacts the overall cost, making it quite high."
