Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Efficiently manage applications with secure single sign-on and streamlined operations
Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access. Its ability to consolidate applications on a single interface streamlines operations significantly. The product is highly secure and reliable, especially in managing user access across various platforms. Multi-factor authentication enhances security by requiring additional verification steps.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The centralized management feature is very valuable."
"Azure Active Directory provides us with identity-based authentication, which secures access at the user level and also integrates with conditional access policies and multi-factor authentication helping to increase the identity security for that person. So, the hacking and leaking of passwords is a secondary problem because you will not authenticate a person with one factor. There is a second factor of authentication available to increase the security premise for your company."
"It has given us the ability to be able to establish single sign-on identities in which we can establish credentials no matter where we are, whether it is on-premises or in the cloud, in a hybrid cloud, or in an additional connection from another cloud where we share equipment or host."
"The solution has some great features, such as identity governance, and user self-service. The Outlook application is very good and is used by a lot of people even if they are using Google services."
"I like Entra's ability to integrate the Active Directory with third-party solutions. It's straightforward. I like the ability to define third-party systems and make the AD the primary identity provider."
"The single sign-on is very convenient for us."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is its authentication security. That is Azure Active Directory's purpose - making cloud services' security and integration easier."
"It offers features that improve our security posture such as multifactor authentication, which is the second layer of protection that is used when we log into the cloud."
"Overall, I rate Oracle Access Manager nine out of ten for its extensive capabilities."
"I would tell others that this solution is reliable. If they are looking for a solution that is reliable and that is scalable, then this is a good one."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten."
"Once it is set up, it is easy to use and it integrates with most of the products on the market."
"I find the authentication module, authentication scheme, and security policy most useful in Oracle Access Manager."
"The most important functions of Oracle Access Manager are single sign-on and its integration capability with different applications."
"The product was built to be scalable."
"I rate Oracle Access Manager a nine out of ten."

Cons

"Documentation I think is always the worst part with what Azure's doing right now across the board."
"The onboarding process for new users can be improved. It can be made simpler for people who have never registered to Azure AD previously and need to create an account and enable the MFA. The initial setup can be made simpler for non-IT people. It should be a bit simpler to use. Unless you get certifications, such as AZ-300 and AZ-301, it is not a simple thing to use at the enterprise scale."
"The management interface has some areas that need improvement."
"Azure Active Directory could be made easier to use. We have large amounts of data and storage. We are looking for video files and media content for applications, we will think about options, such as cloud storage or a CDN."
"Microsoft's biggest challenge is the documentation. The challenge lies in keeping documentation up-to-date due to rapid changes. Troubleshooting requires workarounds and research."
"The support could be better. Lately, they sort of dropped off a bit in terms of quality."
"Its area of improvement is more about the synchronization of accounts and the intervals for that. Sometimes, there're customers with other network challenges, and it takes a while for synchronization to happen to the cloud. There is some component of their on-prem that is delaying things getting to the cloud. The turnaround time for these requests is very time-sensitive. I don't mean this as derogatory for this service, but in my experience, that happens a lot."
"Adding a new account can be tricky."
"Sometimes if a session takes too long, you have to log in again."
"Although Oracle Access Manager is generally stable, we experienced issues with multi-domain configurations and web agent settings."
"In the next release, they should focus more on use cases related to customer access management, customer identity, and access management."
"I suggest Oracle make the integration process for non-Oracle applications as straightforward and easy as it is for Oracle applications."
"Multi-factor authentication requires a lot of processes and technicalities."
"There could be some improvements in the documentation and overall knowledge base of the solution."
"Installation and deployment take time, but implementation is straightforward and easy, and they have very good support."
"The pricing of the solution is in need of improvement. Oracle products are very expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price is per user. It is also based on the type of user that you're synchronizing up there."
"For you to make use of some of the security features, you need to upgrade your licenses. If it is possible, could they just make some features free? For instance, for the Condition Access policy, you need to set that up and be on Azure AD P2 licensing. So if they could make it free or reduce the licensing for small businesses, that would be cool, as I believe security is for everyone."
"It's pretty good. We're using the native features. It's bundled with our Office 365 licenses. We aren't paying anything extra for Azure Active Directory. It's pretty good for us because it's complementary to Office 365. We're only paying for Office 365."
"It is very expensive. Its price should be lower. Price is the most important factor for Turkish people."
"Most features of Entra ID are part of Microsoft's ecosystem and included in Microsoft 365 bundles, which means there are no additional costs associated with pricing and licensing."
"Microsoft Entra ID service can be quite costly due to its hidden expenses linked to usage."
"Licenses are based on the usage. There is no cap. It's based on the number of users we provision."
"Entra's pricing is somewhat higher compared to AWS."
"Can be expensive as a solution."
"The price is really good and it is flexible because they have CPU licenses. The license is a one-time-only purchase."
"On a scale where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the solution a one. Purchasing a license for the solution is very expensive now."
"The tool is affordable."
"The product is a little expensive."
"I cannot comment on the exact pricing because Oracle has different licensing models for other clients, making it flexible."
