Identity has become our central gatekeeper and has provided secure single sign-on for all users
Microsoft Entra ID can improve by focusing more on new passwordless methods and becoming a primary adopter. One feature we would like to see is the ability to have security questions for password resets. I know the current capability is phasing out, so we do not have an alternative method yet. Customers who already use security questions require a smoother transition for that capability to be available. My experience with the deployment has had some challenges, particularly around the Microsoft MFA campaigns. The hardest part is moving users from a different MFA provider to the Microsoft MFA provider, as it ultimately depends on user activity. In large enterprises with numerous users across various geographies, this transition takes time. If there are ways to exert more control around that process, it would improve the situation.

Efficiently manage applications with secure single sign-on and streamlined operations
Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access. Its ability to consolidate applications on a single interface streamlines operations significantly. The product is highly secure and reliable, especially in managing user access across various platforms. Multi-factor authentication enhances security by requiring additional verification steps.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The peace of mind from a security perspective and knowing that we have all the data that we need to, along with the assurance that people are only accessing resources when they need to and where they are, is everything."
"The single sign-on across multiple platforms is really the true advantage here. That gives you one ID and password for access to all your systems. You don't need to manage a plethora of different user IDs and passwords to all the systems that you're going to access."
"The solution allows users to authenticate from home, and the Office 360 integration is advantageous."
"Single sign-on provides flexibility and helps because users don't want to remember so many passwords when logging in. It's a major feature. Once you log in, you have access to all the applications. It also enables us to provide backend access controls to our users, especially when it comes to groups, as we are trying to normalize things."
"Having access to Azure Active Directory on the cloud gives us speed and use of the latest technology. The application services are very good, such as GitHub."
"Microsoft Entra ID has streamlined and centralized our device management and threat response processes."
"Our current experience with Azure in the Cloud - Azure Active Directory - is it's very functional and productive in talking about identity and access management solutions."
"Before Azure Active Directory, it took effort to provide cloud access to on-premises users, but with Azure Active Directory and AD Connect, we are able to sync on-prem users to the cloud with minimal effort and we don't have to manage keeping multiple entities for the same user."
"I find the authentication module, authentication scheme, and security policy most useful in Oracle Access Manager."
"The product allows customization via custom code."
"I would tell others that this solution is reliable. If they are looking for a solution that is reliable and that is scalable, then this is a good one."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Access Manager are the single sign-on capability and a very robust platform that can take a high number of authentication and authorization requests, and it is very flexible."
"Once it is set up, it is easy to use and it integrates with most of the products on the market."
"My company has used most features of Oracle Access Manager for various implementations, but the most helpful feature of the solution for the business and customers is single sign-on."
"The stability of the solution is good, we have never had any issues and neither have any of our clients."

Cons

"Documentation I think is always the worst part with what Azure's doing right now across the board."
"When you fix the rules and permissions, working directly on the manifest, you really need to have in-depth knowledge. If there were a graphical user interface to update the manifest, that would be good."
"A recent incident we dealt with took four months to resolve with a seven-day deadline, which was quite frustrating."
"When it comes to Azure, creating certain things or getting different resources isn't very clear. You need a certain level of knowledge of the system. It could be a little bit more friendly so that some of the things can be done easily, but after everything is created, it's easy to use."
"They can simplify and provide more information about adding or updating a phone number or email id in the MSA account."
"I think Microsoft Entra ID can be improved, but that's a broad question, and I'm uncertain about specific areas."
"The stability and reliability of Microsoft Entra ID is assessed as good, other than typical outages that every cloud service provider deals with."
"Microsoft Entra ID should improve workload identities. It should set conditional access."
"Customer Service: Poor. The EBS Access Gate support was delivered as a patch and support was not able to solve various problems, which I believe to be attributes to more current versions of OAM and WebLogic not being backwards compatible with the documented solution."
"The product is complicated and difficult to install and configure."
"Technical Support: Bad, when we have problems Oracle Support doesn't fix it."
"The mobile access to the solution isn't ideal. They should work to improve its functionality."
"There could be some improvements in the documentation and overall knowledge base of the solution."
"The initial implementation can definitely be improved because you have to work on several components to configure it correctly."
"Oracle Access Manager is not very suitable or too heavy for cloud-native environments and needs more customization and configuration compared to authorization servers such as Keycloak or WSO2 Identity Server."
"To improve Oracle Access Manager, they should consider integrating more policies and enhancing automation, especially in managing server load and cache cleanup."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I do not have experience with pricing."
"I feel Microsoft is very costly compared to other products. That is also what management is thinking. But when we consider security and support, Microsoft is better than any other product."
"It is costly."
"It can be a bit expensive for organizations, but they do have different pricing models. Their free tier can be used on a personal level, but for an organization, the licenses might be a bit expensive. In general, the licenses can become cheaper, which will make it accessible for more people."
"Microsoft is so expensive. You know it is expensive when a Fortune 100 company like ours is complaining about the cost. That has been a big thing for me. When I really want to use an Azure service, it is very hard for me to justify the cost, especially with Microsoft support."
"We make sure that we only enable the licenses that are needed for the users, rather than enabling licenses in a blanket fashion."
"It is very expensive. Its price should be lower. Price is the most important factor for Turkish people."
"The basic tier of Azure Active Directory is free, so many users use the service for free. For a small company having the security and compliance that Azure offers is a great benefit. For small companies that are using the basic services, not having to pay for Azure Active Directory is the main asset because they can manage their users and have authentications tools and security."
"On a scale where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the solution a one. Purchasing a license for the solution is very expensive now."
"The product is a little expensive."
"The tool is affordable."
"Can be expensive as a solution."
"The price is really good and it is flexible because they have CPU licenses. The license is a one-time-only purchase."
"I cannot comment on the exact pricing because Oracle has different licensing models for other clients, making it flexible."
