Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Efficiently manage applications with secure single sign-on and streamlined operations
Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access. Its ability to consolidate applications on a single interface streamlines operations significantly. The product is highly secure and reliable, especially in managing user access across various platforms. Multi-factor authentication enhances security by requiring additional verification steps.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The features of Microsoft Entra ID that I find most valuable include the ability to define service principles and assign permissions."
"The boards for task tracking are a valuable feature."
"Entra's conditional access policies allow us to fine-tune how we allow people into the environments and secure them."
"Customer service and technical support for Microsoft Entra ID are very good because I open many tickets with the support and get straight answers."
"The main valuable feature is the integration into a single console, which includes authentication service and endpoint security."
"We have about 80 users in the Azure Active Directory right now, however, we know that if it was necessary to scale it for hundreds or thousands of users, it wouldn't be a problem."
"For some applications, it's not only working for authentication but it's also being used to apply roles for users. From the management perspective, it's much better to have this because in the past we constantly needed to go into the console of the different solutions and create or delete users or modify their roles and permissions. Now, with Azure Active Directory, we can do that from a single point. That makes our management model much easier."
"Microsoft Entra ID has streamlined and centralized our device management and threat response processes."
"The MFA is the most valuable aspect."
"Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access."
"The product supports customization."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"The solution is able to save time and resources for my clients."
"Overall, I rate Oracle Access Manager nine out of ten for its extensive capabilities."
"In general, the customization that is offered is very good. The company that I am working with currently is using this feature quite extensively."
"From a technical perspective, the solution is very good we can operate and control the user by ourselves."

Cons

"I would like to be able to authenticate Wi-Fi users using the Azure ID"
"The product needs to improve its support."
"We previously used Microsoft's technical support, which was excellent; they were very responsive. Now, we use a CSP, and their support is lacking, so I rate them five out of ten."
"Entra could be improved by enhancing self-service options for end users, such as making password reset options more accessible."
"The licensing cost is a bit prohibitive."
"Their support needs improvement. The UI can also be better. The menu options are very confusing at times."
"The quality of support is regular. If you contact Microsoft support directly for Microsoft Entra ID, it's faster, but when you do it through a partner, it takes more time."
"There should be a clearer separation between objects held in Entra and Azure, so we don't need to approach the Entra ID team to create rules, policies, and app registrations."
"In the next release, they should focus more on use cases related to customer access management, customer identity, and access management."
"In other products, we can customize on the GUI end, whereas in Oracle, we need to take a backup of the JAR file and then customize it...and during this process, sometimes the WebLogic admin console will go down, which will impact the process."
"Installation and deployment take time, but implementation is straightforward and easy, and they have very good support."
"The initial implementation can definitely be improved because you have to work on several components to configure it correctly."
"The solution's lifecycle management is troublesome. Also, another area of issue in the solution is the part involving documentation of certain features."
"Multi-factor authentication requires a lot of processes and technicalities."
"The mobile access to the solution isn't ideal. They should work to improve its functionality."
"To improve Oracle Access Manager, they should consider integrating more policies and enhancing automation, especially in managing server load and cache cleanup."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have an agreement with Microsoft, and my company pays yearly."
"We are working with the Premium P2 licenses, which are reasonable. If you invest in the on-premises environment setup, then it costs so much. However, on-prem AD gives you the ability to manage your organization in a very organized manner, where you can create a group policy."
"I feel Microsoft is very costly compared to other products. That is also what management is thinking. But when we consider security and support, Microsoft is better than any other product."
"MFA and P2 licenses for two Azures for fully-enabled scenarios and features cost a lot of money. This is where Okta is trying to get the prices down."
"I would advise implementing the solution to VIPs and admins; it's affordable, effective, and efficient. I would say training staff on properly using the tool is also essential."
"I do not have experience with pricing."
"Licensing fees are paid monthly."
"Licenses are based on the usage. There is no cap. It's based on the number of users we provision."
"I cannot comment on the exact pricing because Oracle has different licensing models for other clients, making it flexible."
"The tool is affordable."
"The product is a little expensive."
"The price is really good and it is flexible because they have CPU licenses. The license is a one-time-only purchase."
"Can be expensive as a solution."
"On a scale where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the solution a one. Purchasing a license for the solution is very expensive now."
