Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Accessing the same desktop experience from anywhere but user template creation needs improvement
Mostly we are quite happy with it. However, some of us want a more powerful desktop. When not present, we use a remote tool called Splashtop, which is a good solution for some users. We have about ten licenses for those who need a powerful workstation at the office. We have not used many different tools. We are never in contact with Microsoft. These are quite basic configurations, to be honest. It's not complicated. AI is coming to or is already in some applications we are using. Not system-wise, however, it might be good. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. It's quite good, yet certainly not perfect.

Allows an ease of access to various systems and has a straightforward setup process
The product allows easy access to any system in case of any issues We cannot see the number of monitors working on the system simultaneously. It becomes complicated to switch from one monitor to another for different windows. The product's stability depends on the network's stability in our…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has significantly improved managing a diverse range of devices. We have observed enhancements across Android, iOS, and Windows devices."
"What I like most about the tool is that it's now very easy to set up a device for someone to use. It also helps us tremendously in managing security. Before, we used on-premise management with a domain controller. It was difficult to manage security comprehensively. For example, it was hard to know which computers were updated. We weren't able to do that easily with our previous solution."
"In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response."
"Stable product that's easy to set up compared to other MDM products."
"It is a very stable and scalable cloud-only solution."
"Fortunately, now everything is streamlined into a single, unified platform."
"It is a very helpful solution."
"I particularly appreciate the administration and security features, which can be deployed easily."
"The solution performs well and is easy to use."
"The product is stable."
"I would recommend Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, especially for general support."
"The installation of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services was easy."
"It's built into the operating system and has a command line interface capability to insert credentials, IDs, a password, et cetera."
"The most valuable feature is the remote application access."
"The solution now includes a multi-screen feature which is great."
"It's simple to set up."
"It's very easy to set up."
"It was worth the investment. You can do file transfers and video calls with it. You can do a lot of copy paste stuff. E.g., if I have a file and want to place it on somebody's machine, I can just copy it off of mine and paste it right on their machine. I don't have to put it in a Dropbox account and have them log into it to pull it off. I can do all that right through TeamViewer. When you're looking at the TeamViewer screen, you think you are working on your own machine."
"The most valuable feature of TeamViewer is its ease of use and beneficial remote access."
"It's pretty easy to use. Just key in an ID and password and connect. For meetings, just enter the meeting ID and connect."
"The product is quite stable. The performance is good."
"Getting started with TeamViewer was easy, with a very straightforward usage"
"The pilot feature is what stands out the most. I love the ability to use the pilot feature for remote inspections. The augmented portion of the software comes in handy when I have to assist my inspectors. They use the app in the field, and they show me what they're seeing through their phones."
"The solution is very stable. We've never had a problem with it."

Cons

"The reports aren't complete, and it's not easy to build custom reports. For example, Windows Autopilot isn't working well in cases where the computers don't have a good internet connection. Then the option is not good enough."
"There could be more wizard-driven policy development or creation. Some of the policies can get quite complex. If they have a wizard that assists the administrators in creating the policy, that will be a great job."
"The security aspect could be more effective. We are using other applications to manage network devices and groups, so if Microsoft Intune could improve in this area, especially on a network level, it would be a real advantage."
"The worst aspect is the reporting."
"I would like to see the ability to deploy custom packages as a Windows 64-bit package, as opposed to the Windows 32-bit, which is the only one available now."
"Sometimes, updating a client policy is very difficult. This needs to be improved."
"For an existing customer who has an SCCM, it would need to be upgraded to an MECM first before I can introduce Microsoft Intune."
"Microsoft Intune's app deployment presents challenges for non-MSI and non-store apps, particularly EXEs, requiring the use of a Win32 wrapper tool and adding overhead to the process."
"From the perspective of an IT professional, Microsoft Remote Desktop is very easy to use. However, it could be made easier to use for the end user, especially when it comes to activating it."
"We would like configuration to be automatic and the price to be close to zero, however, that's not realistic."
"I would like to be able to leverage it on other operating systems."
"The only problems that you're going to have with the remote desktop are going to be firewall ports, security, and NLA, which is a net network level access control, or TLS transfer layer security or some other SSL-type of security."
"We had some instability during the implementation process. This has since been resolved."
"The training profiles could be better."
"The performance of Remote Desktop Services could be better."
"Updates sometimes impact the application and we have system crashes."
"I am not sure about all the features of TeamViewer, but if they have no voice communication or file transfer features they should add them."
"The solution could improve by increasing or removing the time limitation on the use of a session."
"They could give more information about using certain kinds of applications for secure transactions, such as secure file transfers."
"You can't configure multiple, unattended control passwords on the Mac. On the Mac, there's only one. On Windows, there are multiple unattended control passwords. I have people in different departments. My infrastructure people need to control a server and my developers may need to go into that same server. But I don't want them to have the same password... on the Mac, it can be done but it's extremely clunky and problematic."
"It should have ability to display notes in the computer list."
"TeamViewer could improve by having support for other operating systems, such as Linux."
"The product's expensive nature is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Every now and then you'll get a silent crash and you relaunch the application. But it happens no more than with anything else in the Windows environment."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not expensive."
"Microsoft Intune is not cost-effective as a standalone product."
"While I don't have access to high-level financial information, I believe we have achieved lower costs with this implementation."
"I recently got to know that the AD P1 license is compulsory to use Intune Autopilot, which was surprising for me. Earlier, this was not the case. It is the wrong thing to do. We now need to purchase AD P1 licenses for us and for our customers. I would rate it a seven out of ten for pricing."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"Its price is quite okay. I wish they provide certain additional features with the same license."
"The cost is handled through our Office 365 license, so I have yet to be able to compare it directly with other tools in its class."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"The pricing could always be improved."
"The solution is overly expensive."
"The pricing is moderate."
"The price of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is reasonable."
"It will probably cost about $500 USD to get the resources set up in the cloud."
"I rate the price of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services a three out of five."
"It's not an expensive solution."
"We do not have to pay for the product."
"The cost is in the thousands of dollars per year."
"I used the free version of TeamViewer."
"There is no license needed to use TeamViewer."
"The price of the license could be less expensive."
"TeamViewer offers a free version to try. Download and give it a shot. See what it's like and if you like it, then buy the license for it."
"The version of the solution we are using is free."
"TeamViewer is $600 or $700 per port per year..."
"TeamViewer is very pricey. You have to sign up for a yearly subscription."
