Flexibility in terms of customisation does come at the expense of ease of use. It is not the easiest system to manage from a system administrator point of view. Whilst obviously not unmanageable, you will need to develop expertise in teams to manage the back end of the system internally within the organisation.

I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I would recommend ResourceLink and it is a highly customisable solution to any organisation, but they would need to employ a System Analyst to fully implement the system due to the size and complexities."
"MyView is easy to configure, and Auto Enrolment is excellent as you can automate letters and templates."
"The ability to create user defined screens, which are then reportable, allows us to capture specialised information that would not necessarily be considered core HR data for most organisations, and as a university, the ability to produce our HESA return using the dedicated module is invaluable."
"PeopleSoft HCM is a mature, flexible and robust product."
"All the features of the solution are integral to the functionality. Additionally, the navigation customization is beneficial."
"PeopleSoft is mostly used for payroll and core HR functionality, and some customers use it for its finance module."
"The breadcrumb approach to navigation in PeopleSoft is good. nVision is also a good supplement."
"A valuable feature is FSCM."
"PeopleSoft FSCM provides for order management, SCM, human capital management, and CRM, making it a comprehensive ERP system compared to others."
"For example, any time you need to search information for any employee, you do not need to navigate through different screens and menus."
"Customer service is good."

Cons

"Leave Management needs to be significantly enhanced and ACs need to be trained fully on the product."
"Their product is not overly intuitive when setting up new processes, but MyView is very easy to use."
"Customer service is questionable at best recently; we have experienced issues with patches and installation of additional modules, which has caused delays on some projects and meant senior managers of the school have had to be involved in escalating issues."
"PeopleSoft can improve by having proper connectors. It's very difficult to change some interfaces with the other systems."
"The solution needs to work on its mobile technology. We're hoping in the next version we're working on implementing, 9.2, will have more of this."
"Mobility is an area that has evolved a lot in recent years at PeopleSoft, so I think it would be an area of product improvement."
"More/better reporting tools and ease of testing effort."
"The solution's initial setup is not straightforward."
"It requires more technical expertise to weed through code and see what’s happening behind the scenes to actually deliver a solution that the end user is happy with."
"I am not satisfied with this solution because its performance is not good."
"Upgrades are lengthy and costly."

Although both are solutions to manage HR, their differences make each one suitable for different companies. Oracle Cloud HCM is a platform for connecting all human resource processes in your organ...
What is your experience regarding pricing and costs for PeopleSoft?
The pricing is customer-specific, so I am not generally privy to what the pricing for licensing is. However, generally, I think PeopleSoft is certainly cheaper than cloud solutions.
What needs improvement with PeopleSoft?
More delivered artificial intelligence functionality in operations and finance would be helpful.
