Creates user defined screens, which are then reportable
Flexibility in terms of customisation does come at the expense of ease of use. It is not the easiest system to manage from a system administrator point of view. Whilst obviously not unmanageable, you will need to develop expertise in teams to manage the back end of the system internally within the organisation.

HR has gained clear analytics for attrition, goals, and appraisals and manages talent efficiently
SAP SuccessFactors has a low error rate. We had many ad hoc reports that we needed to generate, and it was very easy to do so in SAP SuccessFactors. We also created many in-house reports according to our specific requirements with the help of this tool, which was a really big game changer for us. We did not depend on advanced Excel in those cases. We generated a lot of detailed reports whenever we needed them during emergency cases or board meetings. A lot of usefulness and time were saved in those cases. I will also mention that we conducted a comparative study for some recruitment cases. We had a recruitment model where we were looking for a very niche profile. Since the job profile was really different and rare, we had to depend on analytics to understand and shortlist from a large pool of candidates that we already had in our database. Analytics was really helpful in this situation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to create user defined screens, which are then reportable, allows us to capture specialised information that would not necessarily be considered core HR data for most organisations, and as a university, the ability to produce our HESA return using the dedicated module is invaluable."
"I would recommend ResourceLink and it is a highly customisable solution to any organisation, but they would need to employ a System Analyst to fully implement the system due to the size and complexities."
"MyView is easy to configure, and Auto Enrolment is excellent as you can automate letters and templates."
"SuccessFactors offers all aspects of Human Resources Management. What I love most about it is that it can be implemented for any company very quickly."
"Considering the flexibility of the system and its ability to accommodate complex business processes, the product is ready to be used in multiple industries."
"It covers all the everyday functions of the employee life cycle."
"It has improved my organization by enabling us to efficiently manage our personnel."
"It's very user-friendly."
"One of the most wonderful features is the ability to customize the modules and workflows. So far, we've done a fair bit of customization and it is helping us a lot and really adds to the value we already get from SuccessFactors."
"This solution has always been stable for me."
"This solution has automatic linking and reporting features. Upgrades are hassle-free because you don't need to change everything from scratch, when compared to Meta4."

Cons

"Their product is not overly intuitive when setting up new processes, but MyView is very easy to use."
"Leave Management needs to be significantly enhanced and ACs need to be trained fully on the product."
"Customer service is questionable at best recently; we have experienced issues with patches and installation of additional modules, which has caused delays on some projects and meant senior managers of the school have had to be involved in escalating issues."
"The process for long modules needs to be improved, because compared to how it's done with a competitor (Meta4), the competitor's process was simpler."
"The Onboarding module must be improved."
"We would like to see improvement in the initial launch of the product, as it is currently quite slow."
"The technology is changing quickly and the solution requires support but it's not forthcoming."
"However, a couple of improvements can be carried out to offer more customization of the solution that is limited in the market."
"SuccessFactors' experience management is not so user-friendly."
"Integration between Employee Central and Compensation in SAP SuccessFactors is one area of the solution that has room for improvement."
"Technical support has been an issue since day one."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The cost of SAP SuccessFactors is reasonable."
"SAP SuccessFactors requires an annual subscription."
"The pricing for SuccessFactors is ridiculously high, and there are costs in addition to the license fee for some features."
"I don't want to comment on the license cost, to be honest. It could be about $1,000 approximately per customer. However, it's very flexible in terms of the licensing costs depending on the volume and depending on the deal of installation."
"Probably, it is one of the priciest products, and is very costly to put up and maintain but because it is a good solution end to end, people take it."
"Our costs for the solution are subsidized by our parent company, I am not aware of the exact cost because of this. However, we pay $50,000 annually. If we move to another solution it will be more expensive."
"The price of the solution depends on too many factors to provide an estimate. However, the price of SAP SuccessFactors is competitive."
"I have raised change requests for some modules within SuccessFactors. For example, when you're using Recruiting Management, there's a feature called Interview Central you can use to reach the candidates you're interviewing. I wanted to add a writing assessment when I select the competency on that platform. It varies from consultant to consultant, depending on what module they use."
