Easy to use, reliable, and offers a straightforward setup
We are customers and end-users. We've dealt with the solution for a long time. We've seen how they developed as a startup, and how they've matured over time. They're actually quite advanced and they are sometimes cutting edge compared to other competitors. I'd recommend the solution. They do things very differently. They're very advanced and they're standards-based. They basically have got a very good vision in terms of how they do strong authentication. Other companies are actually following suit and following what they've done to support standards. They're quite advanced and simple to use, with a good support model. They have the edge compared to other solution providers. In general, I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Single sign-on has simplified access while adaptive authentication protects complex user journeys
Regarding areas for improvement in Ping Identity Platform, there is not much. In terms of licensing and implementation costs, it has premium pricing, and it has a very complex implementation. It provides greater feasibility, but it takes a very long time in terms of complete building. There is a very limited number of legacy support, which can pose potential difficulties in integrating with certain older or legacy systems. Additionally, issue troubleshooting can be difficult at times. Sometimes issues can be difficult to diagnose and require extensive technical expertise. There is also a very steep learning curve for administrative purposes and potential difficulties with offline authentication scenarios.

Pros

"They are sometimes cutting edge compared to other competitors and have a very good vision in terms of how they do strong authentication, being quite advanced, simple to use, and standards-based with a good support model, giving them an edge compared to other solution providers."
"The technical support is quite good."
"It gets a mobility portal in place in conjunction with Office 365. It provides very good possibilities and it's much better than other technology that we have used before which was unstable and slower."
"The product's most valuable features include its cloud-based capabilities for handling cloud applications and providing authentication and authorization through OIDC and SAML. It also supports integrations needed for both local and internal applications, including legacy applications requiring web server access."
"It provides ease of connecting all our devices."
"It is a scalable solution."
"PingFederate is a good product but there are limitations."
"It is a very stable solution."
"What I like best about PingID is that it's very user-friendly. PingID is well-built as a developer tool and regularly upgrades and updates via patches. I also like that PingID has clear documents that will help you integrate it with other solutions."
"It's convenient for users to log in through Ping using the Kerberos adapter because it doesn't require them to authenticate again."

Cons

"There's nothing wrong with the solution that we can see. However, maybe they could improve slightly by incorporating decentralized identity blockchain models into their solution."
"I have contacted the technical support team at PingFederate. I would rate their help as two out of ten."
"PingFederate's UI could be streamlined. They have recently made several improvements, but it's still too complex. It's a common complaint. The configuration should be simplified because the learning curve is too steep."
"I think that the connection with like Microsoft Word, especially for Office 365, is a weak point that could be improved."
"It requires some expertise to set up and manage."
"PingID would benefit from a better user interface for integration."
"Some colleagues have mentioned API connectivity, data security, and privacy issues."
"Many times when we are authenticating, we'd like the freedom to set the time; maybe it needs to be slightly longer, and before we can authenticate it, it ends up in an error and then we have to create everything all over again in terms of launching the application."
"In terms of licensing and implementation costs, it has premium pricing, and it has a very complex implementation."
