User-friendly solution with good blocking
I mainly use Security Premium as an antivirus.  Security Premium's best features are blocking, notifications, and the user interface. Security Premium's cost could be lower. I've been using Security Premium for a year. Security Premium is stable - I haven't faced any issues or bugs while using…

Management becomes easier with minimal complications, but improvement in support tools needed
Regarding areas of improvement for Symantec Endpoint Security, there are many changes, and the support portal tool is complicated compared to other tools. When trying to get service from Symantec, the process is complex. I'm not sure whether it's because of my project or something else. Though it is easy to manage, easy to get, easy to install, and works efficiently for managing policies, we faced a significant disadvantage. We wanted to add multiple hashes because of numerous new alerts coming, but we could only add them one by one, which is a considerable disadvantage in Symantec.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It does not take many resources during scanning."
"When I'm using the solution in my personal space, I can see that it secures my laptop, it works fast, and it actually does what I want."
"Security Premium's best features are blocking, notifications, and the user interface."
"Protects me from internet vulnerability."
"We like how it can check for issues, including files and web browsers, as it is a full-stack solution for antivirus for personal use and it is pretty effective."
"The dashboard is good."
"The internet security was a plus, and it's pretty good."
"The most valuable feature is the quick installation."
"Symantec ATP provides quite a good overview of how threats have spread within the company."
"It's a robust product."
"I like the firewall and the intrusion prevention features, and just the basic anti-malware and anti-virus seems to be pretty effective as well."
"We never expect downtime. There is also great ease of use for my admins."
"Symantec EndPoint Protection is a package of protection against different types of threats and vulnerabilities."
"I like the intrusion prevention and Sonar features."
"As a service-centric company, we have advised Symantec endpoint solution to various clients, and they have been satisfied with the quality Symantec offers."
"This product provides complete laptop and desktop protection from cyber attacks."

Cons

"The product is an antivirus, it should be updated automatically when needed."
"The product could always be more secure."
"As far as improvement to the product, perhaps the price could be better."
"Having a dashboard that shows the different functions of Norton Security Premium can convince end users that the software is more than just an antivirus solution. This product offers several features, but end users think that it's just one out of the box solution, because the different functions are not explained in detail."
"Sometimes the program is too complex, and simplifying it might be an improvement."
"The only problem with Norton Antivirus is that it consumes a lot of resources like CPU and memory in the background. Whenever it's scanning, my laptop becomes very slow, and the worst part is you cannot do anything about it. As this product is secured by my local IT team, you cannot even kill that process, and that's what I've felt about many other antivirus solutions. I'm using McAfee for personal use, and I have the same problem."
"The solution can improve the security modules."
"They say Norton Security Premium is an all-in-one solution, but we don't know exactly what's in it, e.g. they didn't make an effort to explain the difference between a virus scan and a ransomware scan."
"Overall, the price could be reduced."
"Since the acquisition by Broadcom, we are no longer receiving the proper support."
"It needs to die. In my opinion, Symantec was a really great security company, 10, 15 years ago. They went out, they bought all the great tools and then they never did anything with them. So they've just fallen behind and there's nothing that's going to work now to bring them back up the date that's going to regain user confidence."
"It would be nice to be able to manage the endpoints a bit further. A valuable attribute would be the management of software inventory, software deployment, and third-party software deployment. I would like to see the ability to deploy and delete unlicensed software. Many users try to install what they shouldn't, so that would be really useful."
"The device control level and application control level should improve."
"We must have complete dissolution with advance care protection but we are finding out that we need more Symantec technical specialists. We have identified a need to hire at least one more technical specialist familiar with Symantec to improve our solutions capabilities."
"We are not very happy with the solution and are in the process of moving away from it."
"Setting up and managing profiles was overly complex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have a yearly license, and each license is around 20 or 30 Jordanian Dinars plus taxes."
"Pricing for this software is competitive."
"Security Premium costs around US$100 for three years, which is a little expensive."
"If they could come down in price that would be good. It's not exactly the lowest."
"Security Premium is highly-priced."
"As I have been a long-time customer, I was given a fair price of $49.95 per month for the first four to six months."
"The solution gives the value for the money."
"The licensing fee for this solution is not expensive."
"I’d say SEP deserves the money."
"The pricing is pretty much at the market standard... Symantec is not that cheap and it's not that expensive compared to CrowdStrike. I would put them in the 'middle block.'"
"The pricing is good, very moderate, and the licensing is also good. It gives you more room to install a lot of endpoints and it even gives you the opportunity to install it on your mobile phone without any extra cost."
"It's not cheap."
"They're on the reasonable side. They are at mid-level. They're not too expensive as compared to their competitors. They're also not too cheap. In terms of price structure, hopefully, they could do a subscription."
"What we have paid for this product is good value for the work and the services that they are providing to us."
"Symantec Endpoint Security's pricing is okay. It is cheaper compared to other products."
"Pricing and licensing for our country is very good. It's not that expensive and the endpoint security is very good. It's not as cheap as some others, but they are not as good."
