Collaboration has transformed how our teams work and Copilot now drives faster daily decisions
The interface for the security and compliance center could be simplified. It changes frequently, which can make it somewhat difficult for admins to stay up-to-date on where specific settings are located. The compliance center modification or improvement of Office 365 needs to be introduced. The rest of the features feel acceptable to me. The reason it is not a ten is because of the complexity of managing the vast array of admin settings, which requires a specialized IT team. Even though it meets industry standards for decent security compliance such as SOC and HIPAA, the complexity of managing the admin settings needs to improve.

Self-hosted file sync tool used to deploy custom web UIs.
I think it’s probably the best self-hosted file sync tool on the market. It’s a full web application platform, an indispensable tool for a business of any size that needs to deploy any kind of custom web UI. If you build an ownCloud app, you’ve got authentication, storage, security, caching, and database layers already fully baked for you. You just need to build your UI and custom logic. Your app doesn’t even need to interact with files, sync, or interact with other ownCloud features. Any web UI can be included without ownCloud. It can even be a portal to web interfaces of other applications within a business using the external app to display external sites within ownCloud. This is the case as long as that site allows itself to be displayed within a frame.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use it for documentation management, to collaborate with Microsoft Teams, web calls, web conference calls, chats, and as a documentation repository mainly. We have an Office pack suite to be able to write documentation, make spreadsheets, and create PowerPoints."
"The recent Microsoft 365 integration with Copilot is certainly very useful and effective, specifically for enterprise customers as it provides more than a 5x boost to productivity."
"What I like most about Office 365 is its reliability and that I haven't experienced any outages, it's always worked fine for me."
"Office 365 has good integration and a more pleasant and organized user interface compared to Box, and it feels like an extension of my computer, making it easier for organizing."
"Office 365 applications are indispensable for data cleansing, data collection, and analytics, with Excel acting as the primary system for formulas, data extraction, and data cleansing across various sectors in Egypt, including banking and real estate."
"The Copilot integration in Office 365 stands out by providing various different kinds of support to daily users utilizing AI help on other products."
"Reduces the manageability from physical server to cloud, with less chance of issues."
"The good thing is they auto-recover and auto-save, so when corruption happens, we can retrieve the latest version templates from Word, Excel, or PowerPoint."
"I think it’s probably the best self-hosted file sync tool on the market."

Cons

"The stability for Office 365 is not very good, as the application sometimes closes without any information; the old version was much more stable."
"The online applications have limited functionality compared to the local applications."
"I work on a Mac, and sometimes Outlook on Mac is pretty slow."
"The issue arises when I need to ask Microsoft directly for support, and I have had delays, such as with a SharePoint issue that took two weeks to resolve, and another instance where the ticket was mishandled and sent to the wrong queue, which delayed the response even further."
"The ability to work with SharePoint from within the Office applications is limited. (There is still a need for third party tools like Harmon.ie)."
"In terms of improvement, it should have tutorials when you first have the opportunity to use it, to be able to really learn it."
"Office 365 is not cheap for individual users."
"Microsoft could improve their support; I don't deal with Office 365 or Office 365 application-specific issues, but I wonder if it's similar where you get someone from Microsoft to hold your case, which could take a couple of days, maybe a week in between when they get back in contact with you."
"Even with fast disks, it still takes a fair bit of time to write most schema changes to multi-GB tables."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Good reporting and good value subscriptions for international calls."
"We have a license to use this solution. We have an E3 license which covers many different solutions."
"I would rate the solution 3 out of 5 for the price. I think Microsoft presents a good solution concerning the price."
"Licensing, billing, and accounting are available from the management interface."
"I think that we pay $9.99 USD per user, monthly."
"For the moment, we are paying on a monthly basis because we are still adapting the support and how we want to proceed. I think we will move to paying for the annual license."
"The pricing is good for all the features that we receive, e.g., Skype for Business."
"The price of Office 365 is very expensive."
