Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Omni-channel routing has transformed case handling and now supports complex field operations
From my experience, we might need queue-based alignment in Omni-Channel routing. Assignment rules should be defined at the flow level. The challenge with SLA creation is evident in escalation rules, which should include a field flagging feature that is lacking in the current setup. Einstein Bot, linked with Omni-Channel messaging, is complex to define, with a need for all related information in one place, making the process cumbersome. Understanding which bot is associated with specific messaging apps requires manual searching, and this can be improved.

Detects incidents quickly, improves our SLA performance and solves issues faster
We mainly use it for incident logging. We'd like to add service request functionality, but we don't have the knowledge to configure the requests and the workflows properly. We'd like to integrate our workflows with the incident management, so we use it to manage our work better. We'd like to implement the service request feature. Right now, we just record everything as incidents. Some activities can take a long time, maybe one or two weeks. This makes it hard to maintain a good SLA, even if we work hard. So, response speed and workflow improvements.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Automation Anywhere has presented us with a platform that is easily accessible from a web interface, enabling us to write code for RPA scripts without having to download a dedicated software application."
"A project that we automated: A person used to spend about eight to twelve hours every week to finish the process. The bot finishes it in half an hour. Now, the person just reviews it, then passes along the information. This has helped our organization because originally EMEA and APAC would not receive the files the same day that they were processed. But because the bot only takes a half an hour, everyone can now receive the files on the same day."
"The most valuable feature of the platform right now for us is just getting the most out of the tool. When I first joined the company, we were on version 11, which is the on-premise version of Automation Anywhere. Getting over to the new cloud platform A360 has enabled us to get the most out of general RPA or robotic process automation."
"Automation Anywhere is the first RPA solution we have taken and suggested implementing it to our customers, and it has helped tremendously in assisting our customers in achieving their goals."
"We have some bots which are saving a week or month of multiple employees' times."
"We have the MetaBot feature, which is valuable because we can read reusable components in the MetaBot, then use them as a framework."
"Automation Anywhere has significantly improved our organization's efficiency. Across various processes, we have achieved a 90% time savings for each use case, making our workflow much more streamlined and productive."
"Automation Anywhere has provided the capability to automate repetitive tasks for the organization, which in turn has lead to a lot of cost-savings."
"I would rate the support received from Salesforce of the highest caliber, as they are very responsive and helpful and even sent a Product Director on-site to work with us on a particularly difficult issue."
"The whole CRM suite is valuable, and it's a platform upon which to rapidly build applications."
"Clients gain productivity and save time with Salesforce Service Cloud."
"Distributing them automatically and evenly between users through Omni Channel ensures that everybody performs at their best and improves their productivity!"
"Automation, order of execution, bulkification, and error monitoring are features that I found to be valuable, and with Salesforce, I have not faced any issues related to these functionalities."
"The complexity of the solution is very less."
"We have improved our customer service and call-deflection rate with Service Cloud, particularly with Knowledge Base and Customer Community features"
"The interface is quite user-friendly."
"The solution has a great filtering feature."
"Samanage has not only taken over asset and inventory management, but it also has the ability to function across departments, making it easy for end users to submit help desk tickets for IT, HR, and Finance."
"I would recommend Samanage from the IT support perspective because it's a great ticketing system and the only downside is the site shutdowns and the messy nature of the UI and UX."
"The best part is the ability to keep records, especially incident records. It's easy to use the tool to store data and monitor it."

Cons

"Unfortunately, this process was not used for a long time due to latency issues and a functionality gap."
"We have done some automation of incoming documents, but it has been somewhat hard."
"Automation Anywhere is a tool. It is not able to go ahead and extract the hand-written documents."
"Automation Anywhere has a persistent click-related issue that can make automation difficult, particularly in unattended environments."
"The initial implementation of Automation Anywhere regarding the elastic search and database set connection can be a little difficult. However, I am skilled enough to get through it. There were some balancing issues that my other team members had to manage. They are having difficulty in balancing when I checked the architecture properly. We determined later that there was no need for a load balance to be done on the servers. We didn't do any load balancing and then the elastic search was not done."
"For improvement, I would like to see Automation Anywhere integrating with multiple other technologies. As of now, it is integrating with .NET. When it come to future technologies, I want Automation Anywhere to integrate with Python scripts, and make the execution easier. That will be very helpful, having our cognitive technologies interacting with Automation Anywhere."
"My current and previous companies have had stability issues."
"We want to have greater control on deciding when we want to upgrade to a newer version"
"Salesforce Service Cloud's report functionality could be improved."
"I would like to add some bot features."
"The product's high price is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"I'd like to see a better UI/UX. It also needs more competitive pricing on the Service Cloud feature licenses."
"Most of the applications are third party applications which we have to install through App-Exchange (some are paid ones)."
"While there is extensive reporting in the system, there is not always a direct route to get what you are looking for."
"Einstein Bot, linked with Omni-Channel messaging, is complex to define, with a need for all related information in one place, making the process cumbersome."
"I guess it loses a point because the demos we see on world tours have a lot of customization in them and are not at all out-of-the-box."
"We've had some problems with the system shutting down about once a month. It sometimes takes five or 10 minutes to start working again but it can also take hours."
"There are definitely areas for improvement, but so far, so good."
"The system shuts down about once a month which is frustrating."
"The setting up process is not quite easy. It's quite difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Automation Anywhere is affordable."
"We have seen a return of investment because it takes less time to market in our current process. I would estimate a times savings between 20 to 30 percent."
"The pricing strategy for us is one license for development. It is more complicated than that depending on the options you choose."
"Pricing is a bit high when compared to other available tools; however, the tool is worth the cost."
"Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
"We purchase on a bot basis. Our costs are approximately $5,000."
"I advise others that even as of right now, the setup cost and licensing cost to automate bots on Automation Anywhere is steep but it is worth the investment!"
"The price is a little bit high but the support is good."
"Salesforce Service Cloud is a bit expensive."
"Salesforce is not a cheap product. It can be expensive."
"The product is expensive. There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product."
"The solution is priced at 50 dollars a month per user."
"I believe that in our country, Colombia, we utilize this platform for the Latin American region. In terms of expenses, it's somewhat higher compared to other products. I would rate it as expensive and nine out of ten."
"Salesforce Service Cloud is a highly expensive solution"
"Salesforce is very cost-effective."
"Salesforce Service Cloud is expensive. I worked with ExactTarget over five years ago, and it was quite pricey then. Not everyone could afford it. Salesforce has different tiers for different kinds of users. It's expensive considering their features and services, but they offer best-in-class solutions."
"It is expensive."
