Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Great reporting and customizations with good reliability
A lot of the improvement is not so much the product as it is how it's deployed; it's about mapping against what you need to improve your processes, whether it's the Kofax kind of shows in the IDP. You've got process orchestration, extraction and robotic process automation, process orchestration, and then mobile. Tracking what you need out of those, either all five together or one of those separated out, is usually what's more critical. They do add capabilities to the tool. However, from our perspective as a consulting organization, the real key is whether you are getting the data you need to improve your process or if your reporting is not providing you with the desired information you need to improve your processes. If there's any negative, it's just the different names, the branding names that the product's gone through. It's confusing.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"BDC Delta Share has brought down cost significantly, and by eliminating the BODS and SLT layers, a 30 to 40 percent reduction in overall total cost of ownership has been achieved, followed by BW integration roadmap, which is longer-term."
"We moved to SAP because we recognize the value and advantage of SAP Cloud Analytics over other solutions."
"The most valuable features are the visualization and user-friendliness; it's like a self-service platform, and if the connectivity is good then anyone can log in and use it."
"Using the integration between SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud is the most efficient integration, and when it's all in one SAP ecosystem, that's when it actually shows and shines."
"SAP Analytics Cloud provides benefits such as time savings and cost-effectiveness because anyone using a planning tool traditionally relies on Excel sheets to build planning."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has provided centralized access in respect of the data governance part, managed to provide real-time insights due to its live reporting, and provided a unified, comprehensive interface wherein the data is in harmony, whether it is SAP or non-SAP."
"The user interface is quite good for developing reports out of models."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has positively impacted my organization by ensuring that there are multiple projects which are still on BW, so there will be very little downtime for them to use or to still keep reporting the existing data from BW."
"It provides the ability to design applications directly."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The designer and workspace tools in Kofax Insight are good, providing the ability to design applications directly and read various types of PDF images, handwritten files and cheques, transferring the data from these images into the database and making it accessible on mobile and computer devices."
"Based on my experience, it's been a very, very good product, a very powerful insight analytics or business KPI-type tool that provides a very good data-based review of intelligent document processing and allows clients to develop their own reliable, customized reports."
"You can easily customize reporting to pull the fields that interest you."
"The solution is easy to manage, very easy to scan and archive documents, and after digitizing it is very easy to reach archived documents."

Cons

"I'm not satisfied with technical support because they're taking some time. Sometimes I think they could be faster."
"It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs."
"With the R Visualization, the coding is somewhat complex."
"I dislike when they do a lot of verification before I begin. I need to follow various steps to get into the system, and I hate this one."
"Documentation-wise, we see some gaps when trying to connect different solutions. Some generic documents are available, but the steps maintained are not accurate. There is room for improvement in documentation."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."
"Pricing is fine for the BI license, but when it comes to client license, that fee is a bit high."
"The technology used by the tool is old, making it an area where improvements are required."
"The initial setup is complex and would be difficult to carry out without any training."
"The reporting and internal integration systems could be improved by making them more user-friendly."
"If there's any negative, it's just the different names, the branding names that the product's gone through. It's confusing."
"The solution is not cheap. It is a bit pricey, and therefore more suited towards larger companies."
"It would be ideal if there were some standard forms that could be customized."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price is slightly on the higher side."
"The premium option is very expensive at five thousand dollars. I use the nine hundred and ninety-nine dollar option."
"Compute and storage features should be sold separately."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is expensive. The price is a big issue if you compare it with other solutions from different vendors."
"This solution is pricey."
"The product is expensive."
"It's not that costly as such for the time being."
"SAP Analytics can be very costly to license, which can make it difficult for organizations to implement."
