Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Great reporting and customizations with good reliability
A lot of the improvement is not so much the product as it is how it's deployed; it's about mapping against what you need to improve your processes, whether it's the Kofax kind of shows in the IDP. You've got process orchestration, extraction and robotic process automation, process orchestration, and then mobile. Tracking what you need out of those, either all five together or one of those separated out, is usually what's more critical. They do add capabilities to the tool. However, from our perspective as a consulting organization, the real key is whether you are getting the data you need to improve your process or if your reporting is not providing you with the desired information you need to improve your processes. If there's any negative, it's just the different names, the branding names that the product's gone through. It's confusing.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SAP Analytics can be used as an all-in-one source; it can bring everything together: BI, predictive, planning, simulation — it can combine all of this into a single user interface."
"I like the connectivity the solution provides with other products, as one can see different data sources, such as SAP ERP and the in-house hub, create a business warehouse, and import multi-dimensional data from flat files and various sources."
"As a partner, I can mention something positive about SAP Analytics Hub: its products are tightly integrated, so the business context of data is retained in the analytics solution, and that's the main advantage."
"Seamless planning is equal to live data, and when using live data it is very helpful because I get the data up to date, I do not have to manually refresh it, I can perform all sorts of calculations on my presentation or calculation layer, and present it to the client with live data being fetched into the system, which helped greatly for BI capabilities and allowed me to create multiple reports and dashboards to understand the sales-related dynamics of the current business in real time."
"Provides rich features for developing automated reports and dashboards."
"This product provides good reports using a single pane of glass."
"The integration aspects between SAP and SAP Business Data Cloud are pretty good and seamless, with multiple ways to take the data that all work seamlessly, and taking data out to Azure Data Lake using premium outbound as a service and replication flows in Data Sphere is really seamless."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is very easy to use, and you don't require much technology. It has a very good library and analytics. It is easy to configure and offers good visualization."
"You can easily customize reporting to pull the fields that interest you."
"The designer and workspace tools in Kofax Insight are good, providing the ability to design applications directly and read various types of PDF images, handwritten files and cheques, transferring the data from these images into the database and making it accessible on mobile and computer devices."
"It provides the ability to design applications directly."
"The solution is easy to manage, very easy to scan and archive documents, and after digitizing it is very easy to reach archived documents."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"Based on my experience, it's been a very, very good product, a very powerful insight analytics or business KPI-type tool that provides a very good data-based review of intelligent document processing and allows clients to develop their own reliable, customized reports."

Cons

"Pricing is fine for the BI license, but when it comes to client license, that fee is a bit high."
"The integration with other vendors and solutions could be improved."
"There is no direct connector from SAP to Redshift, so we are required to use a third-party product that was recommended by SAP."
"Performance is a limitation that SAP Business Data Cloud has right now, and until I know more about SAP with the Iceberg adoption, I will say more, but now performance is a limitation using the Delta capability."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing of SAP Business Data Cloud is that it is very high compared to implementation costs."
"Custom visuals is another area of improvement. There are also some mobile features that are missing. There are features that aren't available on the mobile."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say their positioning. Effectively there are too many parts from SAP in the planning and consolidation space."
"In my experience, I would rate SAP support as two to three out of five."
"The solution is not cheap. It is a bit pricey, and therefore more suited towards larger companies."
"The reporting and internal integration systems could be improved by making them more user-friendly."
"If there's any negative, it's just the different names, the branding names that the product's gone through. It's confusing."
"The initial setup is complex and would be difficult to carry out without any training."
"It would be ideal if there were some standard forms that could be customized."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is expensive. The price is a big issue if you compare it with other solutions from different vendors."
"The price is competitive. There is a power user license and normal user license, but the normal user license is reasonable."
"SAP pricing tends to be premium, so it is slightly higher."
"It's not that costly as such for the time being."
"It is an expensive solution."
"I don't have the exact price for SAP Analytics Cloud, but it could be improved and made cheaper, especially when compared to Power BI."
"The premium option is very expensive at five thousand dollars. I use the nine hundred and ninety-nine dollar option."
