Conga Composer Reviews

I’ve worked on two projects with Conga Composer. In one, I automated a company’s quoting process to quickly generate customized quotes for clients, replacing a manual system and reducing human errors. In another, I integrated Conga Composer with DocuSign to automatically generate documents and send them for customer signatures. While I haven’t used Conga Composer for contract management, I’ve used it extensively for quoting processes.

I like Conga Composer because it's simple and flexible. I can manage complex formatting and queries easily and integrate it with other tools like DocuSign for the signing process. I’ve used it in Salesforce by installing the Conga Composer package, creating Conga solutions, queries, templates, and using different parameters. Integration with DocuSign allows me to send documents for signatures with just one click, which has greatly improved workflows. By automating processes, such as generating quotes, it has reduced human errors significantly. I also find the ability to generate documents in various formats like PowerPoint, Excel, and Word very useful. However, I haven't worked with its AI capabilities yet.   

One downside of Conga Composer is that it requires integration with other tools for the signing process. Apart from that, I find nothing major to be improved.

I’ve been working with Salesforce for 2.5 years, and during this time, I’ve also worked with third-party tools like Conga Composer, CPQ, and DocuSign.

I haven’t encountered any performance or stability issues with Conga Composer. 

I work with the cloud version, specifically Sales Cloud. 

In comparison to DocuSign and CPQ, Conga Composer has some advantages. It supports various formats like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, which DocuSign does not. Conga Composer also offers advanced automations and dynamic template selections, which are not available in DocuSign. Additionally, it allows table formatting on templates, whereas DocuSign does not.

I haven’t needed to escalate any questions to tech support for Conga Composer. Before using Conga Composer, I worked with DocuSign and CPQ. 

Regarding pricing, I believe it’s around fifty dollars, but I’m not entirely sure. Overall, I find the pricing reasonable and am quite satisfied with the product. The value we get from it justifies the cost, as it requires minimal maintenance and is straightforward to use. The functionality it provides aligns well with the investment.

We used Conga Composer for bill generating. They were having transactions on a click of a button, and we had to collect those fields automatically based on the criteria, and we had to map them dynamically.

The declarative features and automatic API selections are great as they help with pre-built documentation, query generation, template generation, and articulation. These features make the tool easy to use, even for new developers. It allows for good customization from both the declarative and programmatic perspectives.

There are some areas that need improvement. For example, when using the Conga Sign, there is only one checkbox option by default. Additionally, if there could be a preview option available directly in the application for testing templates instead of having to download and test them manually, it would save time.

I have been using Conga Composer for about three to six months for one of our clients on Salesforce. After using it for two to three months, I have not been in touch with it much since the project is now closed.

We never faced much buffering or any issues with the tool getting stuck. The problem usually lies with how we build or set up the concept on the Word side, not with Conga Composer itself. It is very dynamic and super fast.

We can easily scale up or down data with Conga Composer. It handles bulk data well and we were able to map a lot of fields without any lag.

Before using Conga Composer, I was only comparing it with DocuSign but did not use DocuSign much. Conga Composer is my first.

The setup was very easy because Conga Composer is an AppExchange product. We just installed it and got the complete suite we needed. It was not complicated to move it to production.

I do not know much about the pricing or setup cost because it was taken care of by my company. I was only a developer and did not handle those aspects.

Conga Composer is easy to maintain and configure. It is a highly recommended product as it does a lot of work efficiently. It allows for good customization from both the declarative and programmatic perspectives. However, it would be beneficial to have a preview option for templates to make testing faster.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

In the project, we were generating a PDF based on the insurance, creating the contract form and agreements, and sending that PDF to the customer by merging all the information from Salesforce. 

We installed all the packages of Conga Composer into Salesforce and integrated them to pull all the information from Salesforce to the PDF and then sent those PDFs to the customers.

Generating PDF documents from Salesforce and sending them to customers has been very handy to use using Conga Composer.

I like that Conga Composer allows for the generation of PDFs according to specific requirements by creating templates and pulling all the information added into those fields. The guidelines are already defined in Composer, and there are tool tips to help identify templates and strategy implementations.

I did not try multiple features; I just generated PDFs by merging fields and creating templates. If any improvement is needed, I would raise a case with Conga Composer for those features.

I have been using Conga Composer for about the past three years.

The solution is stable.

Scalability is very good because we have recommended it to more than five to ten clients. Customers ask for PDF generation or document automation, and we recommend Conga Composer because it is a good tool, easy to use, and generates PDFs well.

I have not raised any cases with Conga Composer directly because we always raise cases with Salesforce.

We were using Zoho CRM prior, which already had the PDF generation feature built-in.

The initial setup is at an intermediate level of difficulty since understanding Conga Composer for the first time can be confusing. However, once you read all the guidelines and features, it becomes very easy to use.

We have recommended Conga Composer to more than five to ten clients, and they are still using it. I would also recommend it to others for generating policy information, vehicle information, or loan agreements and banking documents.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

I use Conga Composer to generate invoice and code templates. It's useful for creating templates on Salesforce object records, but I haven't used it for contract management.

What I like about Conga Composer is that it's much easier than Salesforce's native templating. It's simple to add merge fields, write queries to pull data and access up to four levels of related objects. This makes it very comfortable to get all the needed data into templates.

We can use Word templates with Word boxes and customize everything. Its conditions are very easy to write and hide content based on requirements. When used with DocuSign, Conga Composer can calculate currency fields that DocuSign can't.

We can default to PDF and hide content to reduce errors. We can generate invoices by clicking a button and hiding tables, which we can't do in DocuSign. We can download and attach documents to notes and attachments or any field we require.

The solution with Salesforce allows us to generate templates with a single click after some configuration steps.

The only improvement I'd like to see is the ability to hide a single column within a grouped table, which I couldn't figure out how to do.

I have been working with the product for two years. 

I haven't faced any stability issues in the two projects I've worked on. 

The tool seems scalable and easy to understand. The documentation from the community partner is very detailed and helpful.

I haven't personally worked with their technical support.

The initial setup is manual and takes about two to three hours. For my current project, I have Conga Composer installed in developer and QA orgs. In previous projects, we deployed it from dev to QA to UAT and then to production, which required manual steps. It's a cloud-based solution that works with Salesforce.

The tool's deployment was done in-house. 

When bundled with Salesforce, the tool costs a bit less. I find it provides good value for money and saves time.

I think the tool costs around six dollars per user. 

I recommend Conga Composer to others because it's easy to use and understand. It supports downloading templates in multiple formats like Word and PDF, more than DocuSign. My advice to potential users is that it's really handy and supports many template formats. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Conga Composer a nine overall.

We utilize it for contracts, account statements, and summary reports.

The solution has helped us with contract consistency. Before this, sales reps would save a template to their desktop and update it as needed. Over time, people's templates and terms and conditions were outdated. This forced our reps to start using the most current approved contracts.

Once you understand how to build the templates, it's a pretty straightforward process. It allows you to create both Word and Excel documents.

The query builder could probably use some updates. When Salesforce switched from Classic to Lightning, there were many gaps. For the most part, those have been resolved, but it still operates a bit clunkily. It works great once you have your queries built and are trying to build out the template.

I have been using Conga Composer for seven years.

The product is stable.

I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.

The solution is 100% scalable. We've seen our act adopted by a global enterprise. It's remarkable to see a business of our size using the same tool as a global entity.

We currently have 65 licenses.

We've used them once for an issue, and they were able to help. Then, there was another time when we had a general question, and they couldn't assist us. However, with the help of the community, we got it answered.

We were utilizing a free version of S-Docs at the time, but it wasn't scalable.

The initial setup is easy, but we still have some issues with the coding for writing data back.

The product is priced fairly. We're actually in the process of trying to renegotiate our contracts across all the different business groups into a single enterprise-wide contract. Looking at all the existing contracts, they're mostly pretty consistent. It's definitely worth the investment.

Creating a single report summarizing multiple areas of an account has been invaluable for us. You can pull in sales information, contact data, and usage information from our subscription service into one Conga report, which an account executive can quickly review instead of hunting for all the pieces. Additionally, from a contracting standpoint, creating consistent, formal contracts that display all the necessary information in the required format is crucial.

I recommend the solution and advise you to go through the training to learn how to configure and set up templates or get someone with experience in it. It would help if you knew how to structure it and the end-to-end process.

It would speed things up for us if we had a dedicated resource to manage it, but it's doable if you're on a smaller scale. It's just going to take a little bit of relearning each time.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

We use Conga Composer for document generation. For instance, our clients need reports showcasing opportunities they've secured recently, categorized by employee ownership. 

Additionally, in the healthcare sector, we generate reports detailing the number of patients treated and their conditions.

So, most use cases are around document generation, as I work in the health sector. 

The best aspects of Conga Composer are its ease of use, efficiency, time-saving capabilities, customization, flexibility, seamless integration with Salesforce, and the excellent support and resources provided by Conga. These are essential factors that every user should be aware of before adopting this solution.

The biggest area where Conga needs improvement is its documentation. The documentation is good but not up to par with other platforms like Salesforce, which has extensive documentation and a helpful community. 

In Conga, there aren't many people with in-depth knowledge, and while the documentation can provide some guidance, it's not comprehensive enough. It is not up to the mark. Conga should focus on improving its documentation.

I have been working with Conga Composer for the past two and a half years. Prior to that, I worked on the Salesforce platform, handling development and admin tasks. Currently, I work on Conga within the Azure environment.

There are occasional bugs that cause the system to crash, but these are manageable and usually resolved within a day or two. 

While working on a PowerPoint template, I encountered issues with pie chart applications that took some time to resolve. Overall, the stability is good, and any issues are resolvable.

Currently, there are three other people on my team who use Conga Composer.

Conga Composer offers extensive customization and flexibility, that allows us to create documents that perfectly align with our branding and specific business requirements. 

We have successfully used Conga to generate complex reports, dynamic data, and visually appealing invoices. The level of customization available is very impressive, which is why we prefer Conga over other document-generation tools.

The deployment and setup process for Conga is very easy. It doesn't require a lot of time or effort, and it's not something to stress over. 

This ease of use is one of Conga's biggest advantages compared to other platforms like DocuSign or Nintex. The flexibility that Conga offers is the best in the market at the moment.

It's not cheap, but it's not overly expensive either. It's manageable. If you're looking for a developer in India, it would cost you very little.

Not many people are familiar with Conga Composer. There aren't many developers in the community. So, starting without any knowledge would be difficult. Having proper guidance or training would be a great advantage. If you have someone who knows how to work with Conga Composer, it's very easy to learn.

The organization I work with allows you to directly coordinate with us, so you can receive tutoring or mentoring. You'll have someone to guide you through the process.

It is easy for a beginner to learn to use Conga Compose. A weekly crash course session would be enough to get you started. The rest you can manage through development.

Overall rating:

I would rate Conga Composer around seven out of ten because there are challenges with every tool. The learning curve is associated with fully understanding the capabilities of the tool, and time and practice are required. For complex document generation tasks, some advanced knowledge of Salesforce data structures and Conga features is necessary.

I primarily use Conga Composer to generate documents for customers and partners. 

While we have the capability to generate complex documents, our main focus is on generating simple documents. Sometimes, these documents are associated with the signature feature, allowing recipients to sign them if necessary. Primarily, however, we use Conga Composer to generate documents without signatures.

Conga Composer is very easy to use. It's easy to debug if you have an issue.  The UI is intuitive, the way things are presented in Conga is good, and the implementation is more or less easy. It is accessible for admins to use.

Conga is getting more and more expensive. At the end of my contract at the consultancy company, I was in contact with the product manager because of the cost. I love Conga, but I couldn't properly use it because it was getting increasingly expensive. That's my main issue with Conga.

I have been using Conga Composer for approximately seven years, both in my previous consulting role and at my current company.

For me, Conga Composer is a stable product. 

We have a whole department using Conga Composer, and we have automated a lot of things. I think we have more than ten users, but less than a hundred.

I have either spoken to someone on the phone or created a case for different issues I've had, and it usually goes pretty smoothly.

I have used different products like DocuSign. I would still prefer Conga. 

You need to determine your requirements before deployment in Salesforce. Conga Composer is not easy to deploy because of the records (queries records) you need.  

When you create queries, or basically some records, and have to call those IDs in the buttons, you have to go in and change them one by one, which is a bit annoying.

To set up and use Conga Composer effectively, you need to have some technical knowledge, particularly from Salesforce. You should be comfortable with technical concepts. This is because you may need to create queries and understand technical aspects at times. While customers could potentially use it, technical sensitivity is recommended for ease of implementation.

Integration with CRM System:

We use Salesforce, and the integration with Conga Composer is seamless. Upgrades are easy, and we can easily capture information from different objects to use in document generation.

Despite being expensive, Conga Composer is worth the investment and provides a good return on investment. It significantly simplifies the process of generating documents.

I would recommend Conga Composer to someone using it for the first time.

Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. It is intuitive and easy to use for me. 

We use Conga Composer primarily for document generation purposes and for an approval process. We have used it in various projects for generating Composer documents.

Conga Composer is very user-friendly for composing new templates and integrating data from Salesforce. Its integration and user interface are very friendly, and the product supports multilingual and e-signature features.

We have not been using Conga Composer extensively or deeply to look for improvements. That said, for our use case of proposal document generation, it was okay.

I use Conga Composer to build different templates, mainly for proposals. I create the templates and incorporate conditions to make it user-friendly for professionals to handle.

The Conga Composer allows us to build templates for various purposes, making our workflow more efficient and structured.

The most valuable feature of Conga Composer is its user-friendly interface, which allows professionals to handle the product easily. Utilizing conditions within the templates also enhances its functionality.

There are some drawbacks with Conga Composer. When setting conditions, it doesn't work as expected, requiring us to rework the code. 

Additionally, sometimes buttons do not function correctly, and merge fields in templates do not get populated as expected. 

Improvements in drag-and-drop features would make it easier for professionals.

The scalability of the product needs improvement. Making the enhancements I mentioned would greatly improve its scalability. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate the scalability as five.
