I moved to a new organization where I am also using Dell CloudIQ. I use Dell CloudIQ to monitor PowerStore as well as Dell PowerEdge servers.
I use Dell CloudIQ for the availability and capacity reporting, which is very helpful in terms of capacity and availability reporting. If there is any fault or faulty drive or faulty part, I am alerted on time with that. That is the main benefit that avoids any unplanned outage.
The current features including availability, performance, and capacity are good enough, and I think more of better alerting along with improved thresholds of alerts should be implemented.
It is helpful, but it should also include the capability to detect zero-day attacks if there are any.
I think the remediation could have been better. For example, if I am upgrading my firmware or BIOS or firmware of the infrastructure, it should give me exact CVSS scores and remediation data provided against the CVSS scores.
I think the Dell CloudIQ app could be more interactive. If there is a possibility that I can open tickets or SRs via the Dell CloudIQ app, that would be a good feature.
I have been working with Dell CloudIQ for three or more years.
I purchased it through the vendor.
For the competitor, I have not seen anything like that in other vendors. Although there are some solutions, they require some deep integration as well. In terms of competitors, I find Dell CloudIQ very useful.
For performance analytics, I have my own NMS in-house that I use. I have deployed a VApp on-premises with all of the servers and storage integrated, and it sends telemetry data directly to Dell. My overall experience is 18 plus years. I would rate this review an 8.
We use CloudIQ to monitor our servers. In case there are problems, we can identify them and receive notifications. We are a manufacturing company and an end user.
CloudIQ allows us to monitor our servers centrally, and we can receive notifications in case of issues, like a potential hard drive failure. Engineers also get notified of issues. We can add users and devices. It is user-friendly and adaptable to company infrastructure. Others may have similar features.
There is a need for improvement in predictive maintenance, which I assume is somewhat AI-driven. The process of upgrading could be streamlined. Customers usually need to download files first and collaborate with support. Notification processes could also be improved.
CloudIQ is very stable, provided there are no issues in the infrastructure itself.
CloudIQ is feasible for adding new users and devices, with no significant problems experienced so far.
I am satisfied with their services. When we are nearing a failure of a piece of hardware, we receive notifications and engineers also send emails.
Positive
Before switching to Dell, we used IBM Storewise for storage. However, other parts of our organization, like those in Thailand and Indonesia, mostly use Lenovo.
The initial setup is straightforward. After installation, it takes just a minute unless there are upgrades.
We asked the vendor to activate the software and it requires some configuration and firewall policies. It involves some cooperation with the vendor and support team.
CloudIQ is an add-on or built-in solution that we do not need to pay extra for.
We evaluated Lenovo mainly due to price concerns. Lenovo is widely used in other parts of our organization.
Usually, I do not give Dell a rating of ten out of ten unless I am very satisfied. I rate it an eight out of ten.

My relationship with CloudIQ is because I was selling Dell products. I needed to understand it to explain to customers why they need to use that. CloudIQ provides one single pane of glass to have an overall dashboard of the entire platform and infrastructure.
It's an application that you can see on your smartphone or even on a website. You need access to the entire infrastructure for monitoring your system, and CloudIQ helps understand the health of your environment, about capacities, and potential future needs, like capacity planning.
CloudIQ doesn't directly impact organizational changes, however, it helps users by offering a single pane of glass to quickly understand the health and needs of their IT infrastructure.
Some of the most valuable features of CloudIQ include its health status alerts, which allow you to see quickly if there is something that needs immediate attention, preventing the need to check each system individually.
It provides a status with traffic light colors, where red indicates danger, yellow means attention is needed, and green represents normal conditions to easily understand the health of the environment.
The quick overview aids in decision-making. Additionally, CloudIQ's predictive capabilities, which are enhanced by artificial intelligence, have improved operational efficiency by providing proactive information to prevent issues before they arise.
The main limitation of CloudIQ is that it is intended to be used exclusively with Dell hardware. If you have a heterogeneous environment, there might be some limitations in coverage since CloudIQ is primarily designed for Dell-based infrastructures.
The customer service and tech support for CloudIQ are good. There are no major issues besides some misunderstandings about granting access to consultants, however, functionality issues are minimal. The system itself runs well without significant issues.
Positive
I haven't really used other IT infrastructure monitoring solutions.
The initial setup for CloudIQ is straightforward. You first need to configure the support system and ensure that all appliances and environments are set up correctly.
Once these systems are in place, you can connect CloudIQ to the information portal, and then you'll have access. Customers can also grant access to consultants for external support.
Only one person is needed to deploy CloudIQ, and as additional Dell hardware is added to the monitored environment, it will integrate seamlessly with the system.
CloudIQ provides return on investment by allowing you to detect errors early in project processes, which leads to better resource management and avoidance of space constraints in the future.
There's no additional cost for using CloudIQ if you've already bought a Dell solution. It is free, so whether or not you use it, there are no costs involved.
I rate CloudIQ a ten out of ten. More information is always better than no information. Having a single pane of glass is preferable for monitoring the environment, and using it will be valuable for making internal decisions.

I use it for monitoring environment security today. I look at security, capacity, and availability in our environment.
It's easy for me to manage and access. The dashboard is clear and user-friendly. I use CloudIQ for the monitoring environment, such as data domain, where I monitor capacity consumption. CloudIQ sends me alerts when the threshold reaches the limit, which is very good for me.
It can improve the reporting facility to create custom reports or dashboards.
I have used the solution for two and three years.
The customer service is quick to respond to my requests. The engineers or support staff demonstrate strong knowledge and capacity for troubleshooting.
Neutral
I used a different solution before. I had many solutions similar to CloudIQ, like HeliParker, Cisco, IBM, and others.
The setup is basic and easy for me.
I had one or two people, no more, which included an administrator engineer.
I have experience with other Dell products like Dell CloudIQ or RecoverPoint, which have been in network, cloud, PowerProtect, data domain, etcetera.
I would rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

We use it primarily for storage management.
Dell CloudIQ has been very helpful for us.
It would be even better if it could include information on servers and other hardware components in addition to storage.
I have been using Dell CloudIQ for about three or four years as a partner.
It is a stable product. I would rate the stability a nine out of ten.
The solution is suitable for small, medium, and enterprise businesses. Its stability is high, and I would rate it an eight out of ten.
The scalability is good.
Getting through support has become a difficult thing. Dell's support has degraded since they took over EMC. It's a bit difficult to use.
Neutral
Dell CloudIQ is a cloud-based solution, and deployment takes only a few minutes. I would rate its scalability a nine out of ten, with ten being easy.
CloudIQ has improved efficiency.
I don't think there's a cost for CloudIQ. I believe it is a free product because we don't pay for it.
I would definitely recommend CloudIQ. It is easy to manage and provides insights into issues at the storage level. It's convenient because you can access it from a mobile device without needing a laptop.
I would rate CloudIQ a nine out of ten.

Dell EMC's storage came with a proprietary solution. I deployed it in-house with Dell CloudIQ and integrated it with the EMC ESRS. Through that, we indirectly reached the cloud solution of IQ. We use this solution to integrate virtual infrastructure, and there are many use cases in the vCenter servers, hypervisors, analytics storage, storage utilization, and reclaimable storage. We primarily use Dell CloudIQ for monitoring and analytical problem identifications.
The best thing about Dell CloudIQ is that all storage devices are visible in it, we see firmware and drive versions and a holistic view of storage devices. In addition, there are firmware versions that upgrade their reclaimable storage. So, if there is any faulty part, we can easily view it. However, the only constraint is that it takes ten minutes to sync the changes from on-premises to Dell EMC cloud services.
I observed that legacy systems are not supported. For example, the latest Dell EMC Unity series storage is supported, and the pioneer storage of Dell EMC, VNX unfortunately, is not supported on Dell CloudIQ. Also, we have Connectrix switches that are not supported as well with running FOS 7.4.xx versions but Dell CloudIQ supports eight and nine-series FOS, and the switch is the latest because I upgraded in December 2022 which is between 7 Series FOS. It was the maximum I could reach and the legacy hardware is not supported on CloudIQ. Hence, supporting legacy systems is an area that can be improved.
I have been using this solution since the inception of new storage back in 2019, it comes bundled with a new box and deployed Dell Cloud IQ solution. I recently upgraded to version 1.15.
The solution is stable, and fewer vulnerabilities have been observed in the four years we have used the solution compared to VMware and Veritas. The solution is compact, compressed, and optimized.
The solution does not have any features to scale up or down. So to scale, you only need to add additional hardware that is supported by the solution. The solution has very limited devices, so the scope of device compatibility needs to be in place for Dell CloudIQ to be more beneficial
We do not have any experience with customer service and support because we have not faced any issues with the solution.
The initial setup is very easy, so I don't need to engage local or principal vendors for the deployment. We just download the appliance, integrate it with infrastructure, include VMware center servers, and integrate all storage devices with EMC ESRS, and secure services apply. Deploying the solution for the first time takes approximately forty-five minutes due to the evaluation of use cases and configurations.
We implemented the solution in-house.
The solution came with proprietary software for storage devices, so there was no cost involved.
I rate the solution an eight out of ten. The solution is good but can be improved by including the UI and adding some dark themes. This will give more clarity on the analytics because dark themes can easily be viewed, concentrated, and more focused on analytics. I recommend the solution for users considering implementing the solution.

Our company uses the solution for forecasting capacity and performance via cloud visualization that is maintained by Dell.
The solution is a maintenance tool that is used by our storage and backup teams to view PowerScale and our cloud.
The tool for forecasting capacity is valuable.
PowerScale is the only file system offered and that is limiting.
I have been using the solution for one year.
The solution is stable.
The solution used by our storage and backup teams with no issues.
I previously used InsideIQ.
The initial setup is straightforward.
We set up clusters and use the SRS for direct connection to upload. Dell doesn't access our clusters but rather they are sent to the solution for visualization. The process of uploading clusters takes one day.
We implemented the solution in-house.
The solution is more expensive than NetApp which offers options for file systems in various price ranges. For example, the solution has H500, H700, and A2000 models but NetApp has many models with varying prices.
I rate pricing a four out of ten.
Our company moved from InsideIQ to the solution last year.
We are looking at NetApp because it offers more file systems so pricing is flexible to budgets. It also allows the creation of small, dedicated wallets with 24 nodes.
I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
We use this solution for the reporting, optimization, monitoring and management of different system updates of our infrastructure.
The best thing about this solution is that you can check for the infrastructure and system updates that you might need to be compliant with the Cloud. It also highlights optimization techniques and data and shows you the different types of security related to infrastructure.
We chose this solution because it is a free product offered from Dell which you can use to monitor, manage and optimize cybersecurity.
The reporting capabilities of this solution could be improved.
I have been using this solution for one year.
The software is stable and we have not experienced any clashes.
We have regular contact with the customer support team. We recently changed the ECRS server to the LCDRS server. This required some help from Dell to authorize our accounts and move information to the Dell Cloud IQ. I would rate their support a four out of five.
Positive
The initial setup of this solution involves medium complexity. You have to know how you are going to connect infrastructures to the gateway and then try to match the data to the Cloud IQ.
It took us two weeks to get the solution up and running.
I would recommend this solution to others. I would tell them to check if the infrastructure connects so they have to make a solid plan of how they will handle the infrastructure.
I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.
We are looking for a solution that is good for inventory and health monitoring.
This is a valuable solution if you're a complete Dell shop. It's got really nice roll-up dashboards and things like that.
CloudIQ doesn't do well in terms of integrating with technologies other than Dell.
I've been evaluating this solution for a few weeks.
I haven't had any stability issues.
Scalability is good.
The initial setup is straightforward and takes a few hours. Maintenance would probably require one or two people.
I don't know about licensing costs but any agreement would be part of a service contract with Dell.
We're evaluating several solutions but haven't chosen one yet. We're looking for something that encompasses a larger range of vendors and that's not CloudIQ.
This solution would be very helpful for anybody that is solely using Dell equipment. I would currently rate this solution seven out of 10 but that might change once I've had more experience with it.
We are using the on-premises deployment model. Our primary use case of this solution is to monitor our most critical tier-1 storages.
The mobile application is the most valuable feature for us. We can monitor all the storages on our phones. It's really good.
In terms of improvement, they should enhance the product range. I would like to be able to add an older VRX solution, for example. They should change the product range.
They should also reduce the cost.
When compared to other monitoring solutions, this stability is better than other EMC models.
Scalability is very good. We have around five users using this solution. We are five storage admins.
We haven't needed to get any support for CloudIQ yet.
We also use Huawei at the same time. We defined all the most critical storages to the CloudIQ. EMC is better. Cloud IQ's capabilities seem better than Huawei but CloudIQ should enhance the product range.
The initial setup was very straightforward.
My advice to someone implementing this solution is that implementing it is very straightforward. It's really easy to implement and you can monitor all systems from one window and mobile phone. You can monitor all your system from remote to local. You should choose CloudIQ.
I would rate it an eight out of ten.
