I use FortiGate for perimeter security, web filtering, and antivirus purposes.
I use two different models. I use 90D and 200E.

I like several features that this product has, such as antivirus and internet navigation inspection. It is also simple to use.
It is very expensive, and their support is not very good. I hope that their technical support will be better in the future.
In terms of new features, it is a complete product. I don't expect any new features.
I have been using this solution for five years.
It is stable.
Their support is not very good for such an expensive product. I expect better support. You can find a lot of documentation on Fortinet's website, but their technical support is not very good.
It is easy to deploy and use. It didn't take more than a day.
We deployed it ourselves. We have our own team. There are three people in our organization who directly use this product.
It is expensive. You need to pay for the subscription every year, which is very expensive. The subscription includes technical support and hardware exchange in case of failure.
I would rate it an eight out of 10.
We are a system integrator and Fortinet FortiGate is one of the products that we have implemented for our clients.
It is primarily used for VPN and remote access. More recently, we have been using it for SD-WAN.
This is a versatile solution and with it, we can offer our customers multiple functionalities. The Fortinet fabric goes across the entire enterprise.
The most valuable features are the security and the integration with the entire Fortinet product line, from access points to switching.
FortiGate has a very strong unified threat management system.
I would like to see integration into other systems. That would be really great for me. The fabric works well only if you're using other Fortinet devices, but they're not exactly the best in terms of switching or access points. If they could extend their fabric towards other vendor environments for integration, that would be great.
I have been working with Fortinet FortiGate for the past few years.
This is a very stable product.
Fortinet FortiGate is very scalable.
We have implemented it for 13 or 14 customers.
I am familiar with technical support and they're very responsible. I haven't had any issues with them so far.
The initial setup is straightforward. The length of time required for deployment depends on the customer's environment and use cases.
We handle the deployment and maintenance of this product for our customers. We use the Fortinet tools, such as FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer to maintain it.
Licensing is usually on a three-year period.
Overall, this is a very good solution and in fact, a good starting point for a broader cyber security approach for the business.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
We have several sites spread geographically across Latin America and Asia that use FortiGate. Some of them are unable to support cloud services so we have deployed it on-premise in order to provide ourselves with a fast and secure network.
I like that you are able to manage FortiGate from the FortiManager to create a more centralized environment.
The solution's framework needs to be frequently updated in order to have a stable solution.
We have been using this solution for a little over one year.
This is a stable solution is you are able to effectively maintain the framework.
This is a scalable solution. We have about six thousand users and have plans to increase.
My company used Blue Coat and Zscaler in the past but I am unsure why they switched.
The initial setup was not 100% straightforward, but it was also not too complicated. You have the choice to use templates or design your own so deployment length will be dependent on that.
This is a great solution for companies spread across Latin America and Asia.
I would rate this a seven out of ten.
The network security and cloud security are most valuable.
Its price could be better.
We have been dealing with this solution for hardly two years.
It is stable.
It is scalable. We have 10 clients who are using this solution.
We have never contacted them.
It is a little complicated. It took four months.
We have a team of about 20 people for deployment and maintenance.
Its price could be better.
I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate it a nine out of 10.
I use Fortinet FortiGate to secure the network.
The features I found most valuable in Fortinet FortiGate include their SD-WAN features and their VPN. They are good and very useful. My remote user and I are using them all the time. The URL filter is also good.
I started using Fortinet FortiGate five years ago.
I'm satisfied about the stability of this solution.
The scalability of Fortinet FortiGate is good.
The initial setup of this solution wasn't complex at all.
This solution was implemented in-house. I was the one who implemented it.
Licensing for Fortinet FortiGate is on a yearly basis. Pricing for it is a bit high. It could be cheaper.
Deployment of Fortinet FortiGate took one to two days, because I needed time to put my existing environment and what we have, and what we intended to do with our network, to convert it into the Fortinet FortiGate system.
We were on another platform which was a concurrent platform and it wasn't a good one, and it was our first time to go on Fortinet FortiGate, so we had an issue and it took me a few days to deploy.
Maintenance of this solution requires two people. The number of users of Fortinet FortiGate in our organization depends on whether it's direct or indirect. If indirect, it will be all the users we have in the organization, but if it's direct, it could be just the administrator. If indirectly, it'll be a hundred users on our actual site, and 2000 to 3000 users on the other site, all done remotely.
I didn't have to contact Fortinet's technical support, so I can't evaluate their level of responsiveness. I was able to make all the configurations I wanted, without needing to contact support. This solution is good for me.
I'm rating Fortinet FortiGate an eight out of ten.
I'm recommending this solution to be deployed for a new user. I'm really happy with it.
We are a sister company of Fortinet FortiGate. Our organization has more than 3,000 users.
I would like to see improvements with the antivirus and IPS as they are not working properly all the time.
I have been using Fortinet FortiGate for twelve years.
Fortinet FortiGate is a stable solution.
This solution is very scalable.
Prior to choosing Fortinet FortiGate you should make sure you select the right box. Be sure of the capacity and have a capacity plan before installation. I suggest you do a failover and redundant together, compact boxes together.
I would rate this solution an 8 out of 10.
We use this for bandwidth management and user security when accessing specific internet service devices.
Before using this solution, we had many problems accessing our resources because we don't have a lot of internet bandwidth. And by using application control and traffic shaping, we were able to manage users to quickly access services that are important. This tool has aided in the simplicity of our day-to-day management.
I value it's IPS and application control solution.
I would like to be able to see more log details.
I have been using this solution as an integrator for the past five years.
The solution is pretty much stable.
The solution is scalable and we are planning to increase usage in the future.
Customer service and support is great.
We used Sophos in the past. We switched after seeing a presentation on Fortinet FortiGate IPS where we concluded it would be easier to use and more secure for our company.
I think that setup was easy or medium depending on number of resources. Deployment took about a week. We wanted to have control over all of our users so it took some time to create each user on the device one by one and allocate a security profile to specific group of users.
We have this for about one hundred users which include the administrators, IT security and network manager.
Implementation was done via in-house team.
There are currently five team members maintaining the tool.
We do not have physical data for this, but we know that this product has allowed us to have less people working on the security side which provides the company with more human capital to work on other projects.
It's a year based license.
We evaluated Cisco Meraki. The main difference was between the configuration and the security option that they give to us. With FortiGate we have so many security features that we never have to make any sophisticated configurations making it easy to manage.
Potential customers should first approach Fortinet pre-sales. Our pre-sales agent was able to give us good advice. His technical and buying advice made implementation of the solution easy.
There are also many resources available on the web that make implementation easy.
I would rate this an eight out of ten.
We use this solution as a firewall proxy. I'm the company manager.
Valuable features include the performance, stability, and virtual domain ability as well as the management that it provides.
There are some limitations to the solution such as publishing multiple servers with a single IP. I'd also like to see some improvement in the support system.
I've been using this solution for two years.
The solution is stable.
I think the scalability could be improved.
Technical support is a little slow and needs to be improved.
The initial setup is reasonably straightforward.
Compared to other vendors and other firewalls, the Fortinet pricing is reasonable.
