We are using FortiGate IPS for network security to prevent intrusion.

I have found most of the features to be good with excellent functionality.

The solution could improve the configuration, there are times the configuration is missing.

I have been using FortiGate IPS for approximately five years.

The solution is stable.

FortiGate IPS scalability is good.

The support is very poor with FortiGate IPS and they need to look into fixing it. The senior support agent does not honor their commitments when ordering products.

The installation is very easy and the configuration went smoothly. It is user-friendly to configure.

We evaluated other solutions, such as Cyberoam, before choosing FortiGate IPS.

My advice to those wanting to implement this solution is to learn the configuration. There are a lot of features to control that should be taken advantage of.

I rate FortiGate IPS a seven out of ten.

We use Fortinet FortiGate SWG as a security package tool for many of its features, such as analyzing and VPN services.

This solution has helped us have control over our network. We are able to put in place traffic restrictions and have a visualization of what is happening in the network.

The overall features of Fortinet FortiGate SWG are good.

The solution could improve by having some additional features, such as IBS and better cloud administration. Additionally, the web and DMC features are not very good. 

I have been using this solution for a few years.

I have found the new releases tend to have bugs making them not stable. The solution should be less memory and CPU-reliant.

We have run into some problems with the configuration that could be made simpler. Additionally, when migrating there can be some difficulties.

The price is relatively expensive compared to other solutions which are providing similar features.

We consider the solution to be useful. It is utilized solely for IPS web application. This we filter, as the basic features related to next-generation firewall are being employed, including IPS, application ID and filter, web application and annex. 

The performance is very good and the solution is simple to manage.

The solution has many heightened points which we cannot get to without working on CLI. There are many features but these are hidden.

I have found the IPS, antivirus, and the feature that allows you to have a firewall in the same appliance most valuable. Additionally, the solution has good throughput and can handle many types of operations, such as VPNs and firewall rules.

There are a lot of bugs I have found in the solution and it is difficult to upgrade. These areas need improvement.

I have been using this solution within the past 12 months.

The solution is stable.

The technical support could be improved. There is a long waiting time for a resolution.

We use Fortinet FortiGate IPS as a firewall. 

I like its ability to prevent external intrusion into our database. It's so fun.

It would be better if they had a dashboard where we could see what attacks were happening. It would be good to see who's trying to get into our network.

I have been dealing with Fortinet FortiGate IPS for about three months. 

Fortinet FortiGate IPS has been stable so far. 

It's a scalable solution so far, but we're not a very big organization. We have about ten nodes at the moment.

The initial setup was okay, but I didn't do it.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Fortinet FortiGate IPS an eight.

We use it for our end customers. I am a network engineer for a company that looks after airlines.

Its interface is the most valuable. It is quite easy to manage.

Its performance can be better. We have had performance issues in the past, but we sometimes tend to find that it is more related to what we do in our network than anything else. It is quite a good product, and there isn't much to improve.

We don't really use them. There is plenty of stuff online, and it is more of a learn as you go.

It is quite straightforward, but it can be complex if you are on the cloud. A lot of our customers are cloud-based, and it is a little bit tricky trying to set them up.

The customer decided what they were going to use. We didn't have a say in it.

I would advise others to go for the training courses. One good thing about FortiGate is that you have got free training.

I would rate Fortinet FortiGate IPS an eight out of ten. It is quite a good product, and there isn't much to improve.

I am primarily using FortiGate to provide a hardware VPN or an equipment base of VPN to a central office. I am only using a small fraction of its capabilities, so I'm not pushing it at the edges.

Using this product makes the VPN seamless and almost invisible to me in the sense that I don't have to think about it.

Once it is in use, it is intuitive to use. Once it's in place, it doesn't require any further interaction.

The initial setup and configuration are not intuitive and require training.

The stability has been rock-solid, and I haven't seen any glitches or bugs at all.

With only two people in the company, we haven't needed to scale. Our roles include software development and providing technical support for various clients.

I have not needed to contact technical support.

This is the first firewall product that I have used.

The initial setup is fairly technical and it's not something the untrained person would want to do. You need to know what you're doing in order to set it up.

The price of FortiGate is reasonable. In terms of the market, it's not a cheap product, but it's cost-effective.

I purchased this product because this is the one that the central office supports.

In summary, this is a good product, it works, it doesn't need any attention, and I'm satisfied with it. Although the initial setup is slightly complex, security is a complex question and I'm not sure that it can be simplified.

We primarily use this solution as a firewall and an IPS. We are customers of Fortigate and I'm an assistant administrator.

I like the simplicity of the interface, they seem to have a good grasp of that. The solution is also very easy to deploy. 

I think they could improve the monitoring.

Scalability isn't really an issue as it's a network defense system, and it does it inline on the network. No other users interact with it directly.

I think the technical support for this product seems to be better in comparison to other solutions.

The cost of the solution is very good in the context of other, similar solutions on the market. 

For cost effectiveness, they of course have an advantage over the whole firewall DASA series.
