A flexible ERP with the best project module and excellent support
Pros and Cons
  • "The project module is the best that I've ever seen, and more than that, it's the company's flexibility to change. It means that in our company, Infor LN has the capability to support many kinds of industries."
  • "When you have a bug in the system, you get some kind of alert. They should explain those alerts more."

What is our primary use case?

We are a very big company, and except HR, we are using all the Infor LM models. We have the inventory. We have the purchase, and we have a lot of interfaces to the ecosystem in our company. It's our main ERP system.

What is most valuable?

The project module is the best that I've ever seen, and more than that, it's the company's flexibility to change. It means that in our company, Infor LN has the capability to support many kinds of industries. For example, we have an optics factory, we have a mechanical parts factory, and Infor LN can support all of them. That's because we have the flexibility to make changes and add additional fields that support our business correctly.

What needs improvement?

When you have a bug in the system, you get some kind of alert. They should explain those alerts more.

Infor needs to take its user interface one level higher. If I'm a professional, I can understand it, but if I'm a simple user, I cannot. It's very good currently, but they can make it better.

For how long have I used the solution?

It's our main ERP system. It replaced all of our ERP systems in the last six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable. Our company has thousands of people. We easily have more than 10,000 people.

How are customer service and support?

We have contacted them. We have a good connection with them. I'd rate them a 10 out of 10.

How was the initial setup?

It's very easy. The implementation duration depends on the size of the company. If you have 4,000 to 5,000 users, it will take less than a year.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The project module was the first reason, and the second reason was the management's flexibility to change. These were its advantages over other ERP systems.

What other advice do I have?

Go to your company. Take two weeks to learn about the company and then decide if you need Infor LN. You need to see if you will gain some advantages from implementing the system. If not, you can go for a smaller solution.

I'd rate it a 10 out of 10 because every time we had any problems, during the implementation or something else, we had someone we could talk to and resolve the problem. This is the main reason that I will choose Infor LN every time.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Efficient and scalable enterprise management with robust manufacturing capabilities, global integration support, excellent technical assistance, and a versatile cloud platform
Pros and Cons
  • "Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects."
  • "The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users."

What is our primary use case?

It is particularly well-suited for industries with a focus on manufacturing, such as repetitive manufacturing or job-shop environments. Organizations in these sectors have found significant value in optimizing their manufacturing processes. Additionally, the software has proven effective in enhancing financial management practices for a wide range of businesses. Specifically, its robust features in both manufacturing and finance make Infor LN a valuable solution for companies seeking comprehensive support in these key operational areas.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is production planning. Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects.

What needs improvement?

The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users. The reporting functionality is effective but the presentation is outdated and requires modification for a more modern and user-friendly experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with it for almost a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability capabilities eight out of ten. The main challenge lies in the extended training required for users due to the system's complexity, with numerous screens and checks.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate it eight out of ten. The advantage lies in its capability for both vertical and horizontal integration, not only within the Infor ecosystem but also with non-Infor systems. Unlike traditional database sharing, it operates more efficiently, functioning like a quick and flexible system. Currently, it caters to a diverse customer base ranging from medium to large enterprises, totaling around twelve customers.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate technical support at eight out of ten. Particularly in India, the support is excellent. There's a dedicated support team based in Hyderabad that promptly responds to any issues. Their assistance extends not only to customers but also to partners.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I would rate the initial setup seven out of ten regarding its complexity. The challenge lies in the extensive setup required for the basic system to function effectively. This involves configuring numerous mapping screens and setting up multiple integration accounts, which is a one-time activity but is time-consuming.

What about the implementation team?

The primary concern lies not in the functionality itself but rather in the complexity of configuring it from a consulting perspective during implementation. While the planning output is accurate when the data is input correctly, the process becomes cumbersome, particularly for consultants setting up the system. The end results are satisfactory, but there is a desire for a more user-friendly approach, such as incorporating drag-and-drop functionality for planning and scheduling. The deployment time varies, but under standard conditions with no significant process changes, it typically takes six to seven months to go live. This timeframe includes implementation for sales, warehousing, manufacturing, finance, quality, and fixed modules—essentially covering core modules for a comprehensive system launch. Infor follows a deployment process known as IDM (Infor Deployment Method). This method involves several key steps, starting with a high-level process design, followed by project training. Subsequently, a prototype is created and subject to approval before moving on to the conference room pilot. Additional testing phases, such as conference room two or sequential testing, may be included, along with user training, data conversion, leading up to the final stage of going live.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost is somewhat high. I would rate it seven out of ten. It is considered relatively expensive for the medium market in India. The shift to cloud-based services has standardized pricing globally, eliminating country-specific discounts based on currency value or economic factors. For on-premises solutions, there's a twenty percent annual maintenance cost.

What other advice do I have?

Before choosing an ERP system, particularly for manufacturing, it's crucial to assess the system's ability to configure processes without extensive customization. This has posed challenges for both new and existing customers. Engaging with Infor consultants, testing with a sample production order, and observing the results provide a more accurate assessment than relying on standard reports or promotional materials. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.

Good pricing, helpful support, and offers a helpful tree view
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is easy."
  • "It's not that intuitive."

What is our primary use case?

The needs are similar to most companies. However, the thing is that the processes are mainly engineering and customization. They have a lot of intercompany transfers as well. Also, regarding the budget, people look at the budget too and eventually went for Infor LN based on pricing.

What is most valuable?

The pricing is good.

I like the way that you can diagram flows and add layers. It has a tree view that gives you a good idea about all the pieces involved in specific procedures.

It's stable.

The solution scales well.

The initial setup is easy.

Support is responsive and ready to help.

What needs improvement?

It's not that intuitive. Sometimes it can be a bit of a counterintuitive situation, meaning you are expecting to find certain options or parameters in some places, and yet they are not there. You have to go through a whole different path that doesn't make sense.

Their menu is so chaotic it confuses people.

They should ease up on the setup of the roles. They should make it much easier to access that area.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have never had issues with stability. There aren't bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product.

How are customer service and support?

Support was helpful. They always replied on time. They were very professional too.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I'm also familiar with SAP.

The pro of Infor is that it's relatively cheaper than SAP, for instance, or some other major solution. That said, it's also good for engineering companies. It's the new way to manage engineering companies, especially their production side. Engineering production is customized every time. Every time you have customized production so the setup in general, is slightly different from a company that uses, say, SAP, and they're doing production and sales. Here, it's a different kind of business industry, so the processes that they follow and the procedures are different too. Infor LN is good for this kind of work.

Basically, if you compare SAP and Infor LN, SAP is better in some ways, meaning it can handle much more. However, it's not meant for engineering.

How was the initial setup?

In our case, the initial phase was migration. They were changing from one system to another. They were going from a Microsoft-based ERP system, NVision, to Infor. In that case, it's easier to manage since you already have a layout of the procedures and processes and what they should look like. So communicating all that to Infor LN was not that hard. They're set up for that.

The complexity was the menu, which made it difficult.

Its maintenance is not necessarily difficult, however, it depends. If you're a person that is really used to ERP systems, you will find Infor not that hard to use since everything is out there. It's just chaotic. It just needs better organization. In terms of everything else, everything is there. You can even track your session with the session numbers. Even if you don't know how to get somewhere, if you know your session number, you can go to that session directly.

What about the implementation team?

Info helped handle the deployment part of the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Many clients use the solution based on reasonable pricing.

Packages are licensed on a yearly basis. I didn't close the deal with a client for that, so I'm not 100% sure if that's the case or if there are other options. I just spoke with the consultant. Our clients always made the deal on their end.

What other advice do I have?

We are using the latest version of the solution.

If a company wants to use the solution, it needs to put in the data in the right places. They need to assign the right information to the right places so that they don't have faults when trying to understand the procedures that they're going to try and do on Infor because the information is part of the conditions. Sometimes the conditions needed to move forward with some steps are difficult to figure out.

It's always good to have organized data, so then you can migrate everything and have procedures working according to their conditions.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

A good tool for optimizing businesses processes, that provides a single point of information across multiple business streams
Pros and Cons
  • "The best feature of this solution, is that it provides businesses with a way to see information from across different process streams, in one place via dashboards."
  • "The finance model within this solution does not have very strong reporting functionality, which I would like to see improved."

What is our primary use case?

I mainly use this solution to integrate and optimize business processes for my customers across different industries.

What is most valuable?

The best feature of this solution, is that it provides businesses with a way to see information from across different process streams, in one place via dashboards.

What needs improvement?

The finance model within this solution does not have very strong reporting functionality, which I would like to see improved.

The AI prediction feature of the solution also needs to be developed.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with this solution for over 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The standard install of this solution is very stable. However, extensive configuration can affect the stability of the product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The cloud-based version of this solution is fully scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team are good, although they are often understaffed. However, they are not always able to advise on issues with the most up-to-date version of the solution.

There is also a technical guide provided, to allow users to potentially fix issues themselves.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The setup of this solution is very easy, but is dependent on the needs of the client.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing costs for this solution are payable annually. Standard licenses are available, but there is also the option to pay to add extra features.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is its ability to handle products with up to 2,500 components, making it valuable for streamlining complex business operations."
  • "One area that could be improved in Omada Access Points is team communication."

What is our primary use case?

Infor LN is a highly versatile software that meets diverse business needs. We use it in project management, finance, manufacturing planning (MRP one and MRP two), vendor management, and complex product management. Companies like ours with manufacturing capabilities electronics, find it useful as it covers the entire project/product lifecycle, from OEM entry to end-of-life management.

We needed a flexible solution, and Infor LN was the perfect choice.

What needs improvement?

One area that could be improved in Omada Access Points is team communication. It is important because we use various collaboration systems like Outlook, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence. Integrating these systems more effectively would be great. A big system like Infor LN should have excellent tools for this, including better data linking and planning capabilities.

I have used Infor LN for six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Infor LN is extremely stable. I would give it a ten out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would give the scalability of the solution a ten out of ten. We have approximately 10,000 people using Infor LN.

How was the initial setup?

I would give the easiness of the initial setup an eight out of ten. It is fairly straightforward.

My advice to people who are considering using Infor LN is to start by thoroughly listing and planning for all your needs in the next five years. Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Leader in the industry, expert experience, with long term relationship and stability
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features are manufacturing, and manufacturing costing modules. These are all powerful features of Infor LN."
  • "I would like to see the CRM improved. I would also like to see a supply chain management feature."

Our primary use case is the manufacturing module, finance module, procurement, sales module, and CRM module. They are using all functionality, all modules.

How has it helped my organization?

They have managed the customers' profits of the section, and also improved the manufacturing cost process. Procurement is very important for everybody. Stock management is valuable in Infor LN. Infor LN is a powerful tool, and our customers use all the functionalities well.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are manufacturing, and manufacturing costing modules. These are all powerful features of Infor LN.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see the CRM improved. I would also like to see a supply chain management feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Infor LN for more than twenty years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is excellent and there are no issues with performance.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are no issues with the scalability you can work with a ten-person worker company or ten thousand.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is complex on a scale of one to ten a six for complexity. It is a complex process like any other ERP solution. Normally, a normal size company project takes almost one year of project management time and implementation time.

What about the implementation team?

We can deploy our Infor LN solution on-premise or cloud options. There are two cloud options, private cloud, and public cloud. You can select whatever you want. Of course, it depends on your budget. If you don't want to make an infrastructure investment, you can select the public cloud option or a private cloud option. But if you are a strong technical team inside in your company, you can implement and set up the solution on-premise.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The standard pricing is two thousand per year per user. There are no additional costs.

What other advice do I have?

Infor LN has very good investments, as I know. They have a number of technical research and development teams. They have invested big money in the technical side. Therefore, Infor LN will be the leader in the market in this industry. I would rate Infor LN an eight on a scale of one to ten.

It's a stable solution with advanced planning tools for manufacturing
Pros and Cons
  • "Infor LN has basically the same structure as CloudSuite Industrial, but LN has more advanced planning tools for manufacturing."
  • "Infor LN is highly stable."
  • "From a technical perspective, LN needs to work on customization and integration. It's fairly expensive for many clients to migrate from a customized private solution to the cloud. Infor needs to improve the cloud solution to make the migration from the on-prem customized solution faster and smoother. Otherwise, many clients will find it difficult or expensive to do."

What is our primary use case?

Infor LN has basically the same structure as CloudSuite Industrial, but LN has more advanced planning tools for manufacturing.

What needs improvement?

From a technical perspective, LN needs to work on customization and integration. It's fairly expensive for many clients to migrate from a customized private solution to the cloud. Infor needs to improve the cloud solution to make the migration from the on-prem customized solution faster and smoother. Otherwise, many clients will find it difficult or expensive to do.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Infor LN is highly stable.

How are customer service and support?

Infor needs to create an online support chat directly embedded in the product. I will never understand why they don't make a special cloud for support.

How was the initial setup?

If you have a demo company, the setup is easy.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Infor LN eight out of 10. I would recommend Infor LN for large enterprises.

Covers the core functions of the company very well, but doesn't cover some of the functions such as invoices and digitization
Pros and Cons
  • "Our clients appreciate the financial part of the solution, which is usually very complex, and the Spanish localization is also very good."
  • "From a customers' perspective, Infor LN covers most of the processes in the company, but sometimes, they have to choose other tools because of the functionality or the cost of the Infor solution. It covers the core functions of the company—such as financial, operations, logistics, and so on—very well, but it doesn't cover some parts such as invoices, digitization, etc."

What is our primary use case?

We're working with the industrial sector. We work with manufacturers and companies like that. They use this ERP for all the processes of the company. They use it in the financial department, and they use it in the production department. They try to use this ERP for all the processes in the company.

We are using the new cloud version. It is very different from the previous version because of the restrictions of the cloud. We knew the previous version of Infor LN very well. Our technical team feels more comfortable with this version, but we have to move on to and adapt the next version, which is a cloud version.

What is most valuable?

Our clients appreciate the financial part of the solution, which is usually very complex. The Spanish localization is also very good.

What needs improvement?

Our clients don't like the relationship with Infor, which is the manufacturer of the product. They don't like the commercial relations with the sales team and things like that. Information that comes from the company isn't helpful for Spanish customers. They don't bother about this market. Infor seems to think that this market is too small to support.

From a customers' perspective, Infor LN covers most of the processes in the company, but sometimes, they have to choose other tools because of the functionality or the cost of the Infor solution. It covers the core functions of the company—such as financial, operations, logistics, and so on—very well, but it doesn't cover some parts such as invoices, digitization, etc.

For how long have I used the solution?

We are a partner of Infor, and it has been more than 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Our customers haven't had any stability-related problems.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We don't have many customers. Most of the customers that have grown have changed to SAP. I don't know if it is because of scalability or because big companies like to use the most known ERP brands.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise choosing a good partner. This is the first rule. The tool is good, but you need to choose a good consultant.

I would rate it a seven out of 10.

Full featured package, useful document management, and beneficial collaboration
Pros and Cons
  • "The best feature of this solution is it comes as a complete bundle. The solution has effective project, document, and application management. Additionally, the collaboration is fantastic, it is well integrated, and can be customized."
  • "The interface can be difficult sometimes. I need to apply a bar code system, such as business intelligence and user interface tools. The user has to be a technician sometimes to use it."
  • "The interface can be difficult sometimes."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Infor LN for operations and in the supply chain, and in sales.

What is most valuable?

The best feature of this solution is it comes as a complete bundle. The solution has effective project, document, and application management. Additionally, the collaboration is fantastic, it is well integrated, and can be customized.

What needs improvement?

The interface can be difficult sometimes. I need to apply a bar code system, such as business intelligence and user interface tools. The user has to be a technician sometimes to use it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Infor LN for approximately one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, we can add users if we want to expand.

To expand the solution I call my account manager and he can communicate with the license operations from Infor LN. In approximately 20 hours the increase would be done.

We have 120 users using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

The support is overall needs improvement.

How was the initial setup?

We did not have any problems with the implementation.

What about the implementation team?

The partner vendor is not very good. There is no one that can implement the solution here in the middle east, such as Egypt.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Infor LN is a free solution, and everything is included in the package, such as add-ons.

There is a maintenance fee of approximately 16%.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated SAP.

When you are working in SAP you need to buy another application called CRM and Service Cloud. However, with Infor LN, their package is fully complete, you do not need to purchase other parts.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise those companies that are outside the Middle East, to choose Infor LN. However, if the company is inside the Middle East, there are no partners that can implement Infor LN as a package. I would not recommend it.

I rate Infor LN a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
