Centralized device control has simplified compliance and security for our Mac environment
Pros and Cons
  • "Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it was very easy to implement and manage all of our devices, especially when we manage with the ISO and SOC 2 certifications that we need for our organization."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is to manage our MDM, all of our devices, the softwares that we distribute, and mainly everything regarding the Mac computers in the company.

A specific example of how I use Kandji for managing my devices is that we created Blueprints first, but then they changed it to assignment map. We created an assignment map for all the MacBook computers, meaning we added the softwares that we want to distribute, all the configurations, all the settings, and everything. When there is an enrollment of the device, Liftoff installs all the basic softwares and settings.

Kandji is a great tool with great support, and it is a really unique product that works perfectly.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Kandji offers include the easy management possibility and its intuitive interface.

What makes Kandji intuitive and easy to manage is the fact that you have Liftoff and everything is visual to you, allowing you to see the status of the enrollment and how easily you can manage it. The intuitive aspect also includes what is called Kandji Self Service, which is the best because you can see all the applications that you want users to install, and it is very intuitive and easy.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it was very easy to implement and manage all of our devices, especially when we manage with the ISO and SOC 2 certifications that we need for our organization. It has impacted the security and the IT aspect of the company very effectively.

    What needs improvement?

One thing I think could be improved is what happens when a user gets locked out. Currently, you have to go to recovery and provide the recovery key, and then the user needs to log back in. I think this should be more self-service for the users without the intervention of IT.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for about three years.

Centralized management has streamlined device compliance and optimized license usage
    Pros and Cons
    • "Everything is now compliant and controlled, and we know where each device is, with all updates pushed and managed and licenses that they do not require."
    • "There are certain limitations with blueprints where each machine can only have one or must have a blueprint, which is frustrating since certain machines may not need to have a blueprint straight away for testing."

What is our primary use case?

Kandji is primarily used for MDM management, enabling us to see, organize, and keep our fleet managed, centered, and updated with Apple management.

Any new devices that we receive are automatically added to Apple Device Management, which syncs through to Kandji, where we can automatically enroll them with our own specifications.

Kandji has also been used to push updates and changes to certifications on the back end.

    What is most valuable?

Kandji offers standout features such as blueprints and the ability to adapt and change the blueprints as we go along, which responds and syncs automatically. It is also valuable to be able to map the blueprints logically and in a timeline way.

With blueprints, we use it to adapt each blueprint to a certain machine, then to each department and role, and we are able to adapt that for specific applications for the specific role, as well as licenses that we can control and manage on our end. This saves us time because we do not have to manually install each application and we can automatically push each application correctly to each role.

Everything seems to be syncing through with our Microsoft, and we also use Snipe-IT. Kandji is connected to Snipe-IT, syncing to our asset management, and any changes we make in Kandji automatically sync through to our asset management, which is fantastic.

Everything is now compliant and controlled, and we know where each device is, with all updates pushed and managed and licenses that they do not require. This saves us time and saves us money on licenses.

    What needs improvement?

There are certain limitations with blueprints where each machine can only have one or must have a blueprint, which is frustrating since certain machines may not need to have a blueprint straight away for testing. Additionally, there are limitations with certain apps in the store, particularly in-house built apps that are more difficult to implement. While this is understandable, it would be beneficial to have something easier to understand. The documentation within Kandji seems outdated, requiring support calls to understand certain features better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I started using Kandji in Printforce since September of last year, 2025.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Kandji is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kandji's scalability is suitable for us as a small to medium company, but I would not say it is very scalable for a much larger company.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is very good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Printforce did not use any other solution before Kandji, as this is the first.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment, mostly with the time saved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it is easy, straightforward, and rapid.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We analyzed Intune before choosing Kandji.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise others looking into using Kandji to keep everything documented before going in and to ensure that all the blueprints are aligned with a good mapping system. This review was given a rating of 8.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Managing thousands of macOS devices has become streamlined and now reduces time and errors
    Pros and Cons
    • "Kandji has positively impacted my organization by simplifying the management of the Apple fleet."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is Mac management. I manage a fleet of a few thousand devices.

      What is most valuable?

Managing that fleet looks quite easy with Kandji. I really appreciate the blueprints idea instead of separate smart groups for everything, as it makes everything simpler.

One of the best features Kandji offers is automatic system updates, which is a valuable feature. The system update feature helps me in my work by reducing the time I spend finding complex solutions for doing that outside of the MDM tool, and it works effectively.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization by simplifying the management of the Apple fleet. Since using Kandji, I have noticed that it is easier to set everything without reviewing all smart groups, which reduces both the time spent and human errors.

      What needs improvement?

Improving Kandji is a challenging question. I cannot recall anything right now that could be better or added to Kandji.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      Kandji is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

      Kandji's scalability works quite well.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support was a pain point previously, but it is slightly better now. The change that made customer support better recently is the improved responsiveness.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, I used Jamf; it was not my decision to change to Kandji, so I cannot define any reasons why it was changed.

      What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Kandji. The team that manages the Apple fleet was reduced since implementing Kandji.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was handled above my pay grade, so I am not certain about those details.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Kandji, I did not evaluate other options.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Kandji is that moving from Jamf to Kandji, you will no longer need to set smart groups for everything. I would rate this review a 9.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

      Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Centralized endpoint policies have improved security and ensure compliant access control
      Pros and Cons
      • "Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it helps us be more secure and enforce compliance."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is endpoint management. I use Kandji for endpoint management by enforcing policies and configuring apps for endpoints.

        What is most valuable?

Kandji's best features are customer support, good blueprinting, and easy setup. The blueprint feature makes it easy to see everything from an at-a-glance view, and it makes sense when I'm looking at items one by one to see how they fall in the map.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it helps us be more secure and enforce compliance. It improves compliance by helping us remove admin accounts on local users.

        What needs improvement?

I do not have information about how Kandji can be improved or any small changes that could make my experience even better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for seven months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

        Kandji is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kandji's scalability is good and it deploys fine across multiple devices.

How are customer service and support?

Kandji's customer support is really great, and they are nice people. I rate the customer support a 10.

        What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment because it saves time managing endpoints.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Remote tools have enabled global laptop wipes and effortless checks of installed apps
        Pros and Cons
        • "Kandji offers excellent features, including the ability to erase devices remotely without needing to be in front of the laptop."
        • "I rated Kandji an eight because the laptop needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to erase it."

What is our primary use case?

When I use Kandji to erase laptops, I open the browser for Kandji, log in with my account, and figure out the name of the laptop in the Mac browser. I find the Mac and ensure it is connected to the internet. When it is connected to the internet, I click on erase the MacBook, and it performs the task automatically without requiring any additional actions from me.

When I check the specific applications installed on the MacBooks, it does not help me with anything beyond verification. We do not have control or a way to stop things from being installed on laptops, so we simply check when needed. We do not check day by day; we only check if we open a laptop and see something unusual.

        What is most valuable?

Kandji offers excellent features, including the ability to erase devices remotely without needing to be in front of the laptop. I also appreciate the ability to check the specific applications installed on the MacBooks.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization because we are a large company with many people around the world. The remote capability is particularly valuable; for example, someone from Boston and I living in Portugal can complete erase jobs remotely. This capability has created a significant impact for our organization.

        What needs improvement?

Currently, I cannot recall anything specific that needs improvement. However, I rated Kandji an eight because the laptop needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to erase it. If it did not require a Wi-Fi connection, I would rate it a ten.

For how long have I used the solution?

My main use case for Kandji has been for approximately one year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kandji is stable at the moment.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

        Kandji's scalability is good.

        What was our ROI?

The remote capability of Kandji has saved my team time and helps us considerably, though I do not have specific numbers to share.

What other advice do I have?

If you have a large company with many Mac users, Kandji is a good tool to help manage your devices. I would rate this product an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

        Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Centralized security policies have streamlined remote troubleshooting and device management
        Pros and Cons
        • "Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it is very user-friendly, and among the multiple MDM solutions I have used, such as JumpCloud and Intune, Kandji stands out as one of the best for Mac devices."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is device enrollment, and in my previous organization, I used Kandji as an MDM solution for managing and securing user devices.

A quick example of how I used Kandji for device management is by creating security policies, password policies, and managing FileVault encryption for device security.

          What is most valuable?

In my experience, one of the best features Kandji offers is remote control assist, allowing me to take control of a user's device without needing any third-party software.

I value the remote control assist feature because it makes troubleshooting very easy; if a user is working remotely, it helps me to take control and perform troubleshooting.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization because it is very user-friendly, and among the multiple MDM solutions I have used, such as JumpCloud and Intune, Kandji stands out as one of the best for Mac devices.

Kandji stands out as one of the best MDM tools for Mac devices primarily because of its user experience, which is more user-friendly compared to JumpCloud and Intune.

          What needs improvement?

I do not think Kandji needs any improvements; everything is very good, and as I mentioned earlier, I have used multiple MDM tools, with Kandji being one of the best.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have around one year's experience using Kandji, focusing on managing users and creating policies.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kandji is very stable, and I would rate its stability a 10 out of 10.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

          Kandji has very good scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had the chance to interact with customer support to raise a ticket, but I believe it is all great.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before Kandji; my previous organization was already using Kandji for Mac devices and Workspace ONE for Windows devices.

          What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment from using Kandji because it saves time.

The time saved includes processes such as software installation, as previously we needed to take a user device remotely, but with Kandji, we can initiate software installation from the back end, which is a significant time saver.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, I did not manage the licensing part because I primarily handled the admin console, so I am not aware of the costs associated with it.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Kandji is that it is the best tool for securing Mac devices, creating policies, and managing devices; you can also manage your assets effectively in terms of quantity. I would rate this product a 10 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

          On-premises
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

An easy-to-manage and deploy solution, but it should provide open customization
          Pros and Cons
          • "It's a very easy plug-and-play solution where you can just enroll the devices and choose the features you want."
          • "Kandji should give open customization."

What is our primary use case?

Kandji is mostly meant for the Apple ecosystem and Apple devices.

          What is most valuable?

You don't need a certification or great knowledge to manage and deploy the solution because it's not complex. It's a very easy plug-and-play solution where you can just enroll the devices and choose the features you want.

Kandji doesn't require much customization because it has built-in features that we have to create manually otherwise.

          What needs improvement?

Kandji should have certification experience, which they don't have. Kandji should give open customization. Most customers find required features from other vendors, which Kandji doesn't have. It would be good if the solution could give a command line or script writing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kandji is a pretty stable solution. You don't have to do many things because it has a support tool built into it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kandji is a scalable solution. I have deployed Kandji for three customers who were using approximately 10,000 devices.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's technical support is great. You can expect a revert from the support team in seven minutes.

          How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup is straightforward.

          What about the implementation team?

The solution's deployment doesn't take more than 10 to 15 minutes. If you have a device, you just need to configure the APNs and identity manager, and then you can start enrolling the devices. Within one hour, you can see your devices are enrolled in it.

          What was our ROI?

Our customers have seen a return on investment with Kandji. They reduced their one-time deployment cost and have seen a major difference between Windows and Mac devices.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Users have to pay a yearly licensing fee for Kandji, which is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

Kandji is deployed on the cloud in our organization. One IT staff can manage the whole solution.

Kandji is the right solution for people who don't want to go through complete training or certification and want an Apple management tool. They don't have to invest much in training and certification since it is a pretty easy solution.

Overall, I rate Kandji a seven out of ten.

Remote support has become faster and now saves time for global Mac user assistance
          Pros and Cons
          • "Kandji has positively impacted my organization by providing remote and quick support."
          • "I believe Kandji can be improved by having more self-service options, as users can complete a few steps before reaching out to IT support, which will give us more context on the issue."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is supporting Mac devices.

I use Kandji to support Mac devices by configuring them, deploying them, resetting remote support, app deployment, and security patch deployment.

          What is most valuable?

The best features Kandji offers are quick sync support for Mac devices, as whenever a command is deployed, it is very quick compared to Intune, and I find that very easy and efficient.

Quick sync support stands out for me because it saves time with the user. Unlike other support tools, it is very fast and I can provide proper support.

Kandji has positively impacted my organization by providing remote and quick support.

This quick support has changed my team's workflow and efficiency because our company is a remote-first organization, so Kandji gave us a great and efficient way of supporting users across the world.

          What needs improvement?

I believe Kandji can be improved by having more self-service options, as users can complete a few steps before reaching out to IT support, which will give us more context on the issue.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for about six months.

What other advice do I have?

I advise others looking into using Kandji that it is a great tool and it would be very convenient for any Apple environment devices, so I would recommend it for any organizations that are looking into it. I would rate my experience with Kandji an 8 out of 10.
