I have used the solution as an end user. We had the HR core. When I joined an implementation company, I used the solution for implementing all of the modules based on requests.

| HRIS Implementation Consultant at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees | 4.5 | I have used Sage People as an end user and found its reporting and dashboard capabilities exceptionally strong. However, customization limitations and absence management require improvement. Despite these challenges, the solution has delivered a substantial return on investment. |
| Senior HR and Payroll Consultant at a tech services company with 11-50 employees | 4.5 | I use Sage People primarily for monthly payroll and employee data processes. Its strengths are in storing comprehensive employee information and offering robust reporting capabilities. Challenges include the non-functional budget module and lack of integration with external tools. |
| People Advisor at Thomas International | 4.0 | I find Sage People highly flexible, especially in report customization, which is powered by Salesforce technology. However, the performance management module could improve, as it lacks features found in specialized platforms, requiring manual troubleshooting when issues arise. |
| Human Resources Generalist at a financial services firm with 201-500 employees | 3.0 | I used Sage People as our HRIS system, replacing BambooHR. Despite its robust customizability, I found it difficult to use, with poor user interface and customer service. The system didn’t provide any noticeable return on investment. |
| Payroll Manager at Pepkor Holdings Limited | 4.0 | I use Sage People primarily for payroll processing. Its most valuable feature is the ability to produce versatile reports. However, the interface needs to be more user-friendly with proper menu descriptions, as finding required functions is currently challenging. |
| Senior Manager at a non-tech company with 201-500 employees | 3.5 | We use Sage People for payroll management because it is reliable, secure, and user-friendly, with a great ability to trace records. However, improving its automation features would enhance functionality and reduce the need for manual data entry. |
| Project Manager at Exis TI | 4.5 | I assist users with Sage People, which is used primarily for payroll and valued for its reporting and API integration. While accessible through mobile devices, improvements in cloud-based integration and report design could enhance the experience. |
| Head of IT at a non-profit with 201-500 employees | 4.0 | We use Sage People for its integration with our payroll system, though improvements are needed. Previously reliant on spreadsheets, we chose Sage People due to its Salesforce platform compatibility, aligning with our other critical business operations. |
| HR Shared Services Manager - AMERICAS at Incora | 4.5 | I find Sage People user-friendly with easier reporting and direct offer letters than my previous system. Its stability is good, but I wish it included HR ticket management functionality, which it currently lacks. |
| Technology Solutions & Services Business Unit Director at Truemega Technology Solutions | 3.0 | We use Sage People for application management to analyze application quality and response time. The solution needs improved stability. We haven't used or considered alternative solutions, and there's no specified ROI or cloud provider information. |

I have used the solution as an end user. We had the HR core. When I joined an implementation company, I used the solution for implementing all of the modules based on requests.
Compared to other systems I've used, the product’s reporting is really, really good. The report builder and dashboard builder are very, very good.
There were a couple of things that we wanted to customize, but we couldn’t do it ourselves. So, we had to do another project that cost us. The product must improve how absence works.
I have been using the solution for two years.
I rate the stability a nine out f ten. It was never not usable. The workflow went a bit wrong when we had to do some stuff on it, but it was never like we couldn’t get on the system. So, the product is very good stability-wise.
The solution is very scalable. I rate the scalability a ten out of ten. As our organization grows, we can customize the different countries and add more departments. The product is designed to be scalable.
The company that I implemented the product in had about 600 users. We need about 500 employees for the solution to be cost-effective. It is definitely not for a small organization unless they anticipate very, very quick growth.
I contacted support for a couple of things. It was mainly for the changes that we were trying to make. I sought help to work through some issues. The support was very good. We had to rethink certain things we wanted to do with the system.
The initial setup is easy. We need to be technically savvy. We need to have experience with HR systems to be involved in the setups. For someone who's never had an HR system before, it's going to be very overwhelming. The solution has got a lot of functionalities, which is brilliant. It is 90% customizable.
We can configure it exactly as we want it. We would definitely need someone with HR systems experience to understand the backend. We can configure the back end as much as we like. We can also do it once we’ve gone live with the system.
The deployment takes at least six months to complete, including the discovery, configuration, and UHC. We just went with the absolute basics, and then over a period of another six months, we went live with other functionality. A full deployment probably takes six months minimum, but it might take twelve months. The more customization we do, the longer the lead time.
The solution puts us in contact with a third party and implementation team. We work with them. We do a discovery process, basically talking through your organization and all of your needs. The third party then does the first phase configuration. Then, we do a joint configuration through user acceptance testing.
The company that we used showed us the changes that they were making. So if we wanted to make further changes, we knew what had been done and how to do it. Once we went live, we had support for a couple of weeks. Then, if we needed any changes, we could do it in-house.
We have seen a massive return on investment.
The product is definitely not cheap. However, it's probably not uber-expensive. It is definitely on the higher end. Companies must understand that the more modules they choose, the more expensive the tool gets. The price range is somewhere between reasonable and a little expensive for the functionality you get from it.
I rate the pricing a seven out of ten. It is worth the money if we utilize the functionality. If all we want is something for employees to be able to book their annual leaves and we just want to keep people's names and addresses, it is very expensive. If we use it as our recruitment system for employees and use it for our performance management and training, then it gives value for money.
I am using the latest version of the product. I'm not currently using it. I haven't used it since February this year. Previously, only a direct line manager could see their employees. The solution planned to implement a way for the managers to see all the levels below them, not just the first level. This feature must be implemented.
I don't know if they have finally implemented new features. I know organizations that have got thousands of employees using the solution. I've used a lot of HR systems, and it's definitely one of the best I've come across. Workday does just beats it, but Workday is very expensive. You must have a bigger organization to be able to afford Workday. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

The main use cases are monthly payroll and employee data employee lead processes.
Our customers have seen 100% benefits by using Sage People. So when they come to employee information, employee retention, human resource management, etcetera. My clients have seen the benefits of having up-to-date reports and compliant information on the application. It's saved money when it comes to payroll because you don't make a mistake. Everything is automated. There's very little human impact on the salary run that also cuts out a lot of mistakes. And when it comes to the information and the reporting, reports are so valid and so accurate. Reports are no longer templates before being submitted to, let's say, the government or the tax certificate, file or etcetera. Or any affiliation that needs a report. So it just cuts the human manipulation aspects of the payroll process and makes it more effective.
The most valuable features are employee historical information and reporting capabilities. Sage People is a comprehensive system that allows for storing a lot of employee information. Apart from basic details like name and surname, you can add links to other employee information such as cloud or team accounts, medical aids, and pension funds. You can also store historical data like position changes and salary increases. This information is valuable even for inactive employees.
The reporting features are also very valuable because, on top of 300+ reports available on the system, you can also customize quite a number of reports.
So you can even build your own reports on top of the internal reports out of there. And on the reports, you have legally compliant reports available. So you won't even have to copy it. The auditors will give you a sample for reports. Those reports are already available in stage three and video group modules.
The budget module does not work. Sage People need to maybe make it more user-friendly.
In future releases, we need more integrated tools to be added because not everyone uses Sage products. So if they could just add more external software that can integrate with Sage, it'd be great.
I have seven years of experience. I'm a consultant, so I assist end users in training and implementation. I work with both the cloud version and the on-premises version.
Sage people weren't very stable. There have been some issues with updates. For example, last December, there was a bug in the employee services update that affected the report modules. So I have experienced multiple issues, but the support team has been helpful and responsive. They help on time, so that's a positive aspect and we are informed about bug fixes.
It is a scalable solution. In terms of payroll, there are typically only a few users, usually just five, which are the HR department.
I cannot give the customer service and support team a perfect score because the response time is a bit delayed. There are occasional delays, but the issues are eventually resolved.
Sage People is very popular and common in South Africa. It's widely used and has a large client database. That's why clients tend to choose Sage People.
The initial setup just depends on the project methodology. The process includes project initiation, kick-off business process mapping, configuration, training, and then live.
Moreover, it requires maintenance. With the release of new versions, updates need to be run. This usually happens on a monthly basis. One engineer can handle the maintenance tasks.
The number of people required to deploy the solution depends on the employee account. For example, for 100 to 500 employees, one consultant can do it, but if it is 500+, it's recommended that two or more consultants are required.
On average, it takes a medium amount of time. It takes around two weeks for configuration, considering a workforce of 500 employees.
My clients have seen an ROI. For example, fewer errors in payroll result in saving more money.
The pricing is reasonable and aligned with the market. It's available on a monthly or yearly basis, and there are no additional fees.
Currently, I am studying SAP Professional Consultants. Moreover, Sage Business Cloud People Professional is another Sage product that I use.
I would recommend you should ensure to choose a credible business partner for the implementation.
Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.

While employees mainly use it for absence management, HR professionals rely on it for generating reports related to payroll, salary budgeting, and customizing the system to fit our specific business needs.
Unlike cheaper HR software that may be limited in customization, Sage People's high level of flexibility allows us to design the user platform in any way that suits our business requirements, such as accommodating any ongoing projects or initiatives.
Overall, reporting functionality remains the dominant usage for the system.
There were several reasons why we were searching for a new platform or H.S. We had plans to increase our headcount every year. The system we previously used, Brief, was an out-of-the-box platform, which was limited in its capabilities and only suitable for smaller organizations with fewer than 200 employees.
As a result, we began looking for alternatives and eventually chose Sage People because our Managing Director previously worked for the company, which allowed us to negotiate a favorable deal.
When comparing various platforms, we did not compare it with Workday because it did not meet our requirements. Instead, we compared it to other platforms like Hi Bob and Design in terms of flexibility and reporting possibilities. We found that Sage People was head and shoulders above the other platforms we were considering.
Which features have you found most valuable, and why?
Without a doubt, the most valuable aspect of this solution is the reports, as it offers endless possibilities for report customization. You can easily build any report you can imagine with this system.
To me, the most important feature of this system is the robust and customizable reports, which are powered by Salesforce technology.
In my opinion, the performance management module of this system could use improvement as it falls behind compared to other specialized performance management platforms.
While I understand that this system is not solely focused on performance management and is more of a generalist solution, it still lacks the capabilities and features that you can find in other specialized platforms.
If we were to switch to a provider solely focused on performance management, we would have access to a wider range of features and capabilities that are not currently available in this system.
Sage People offers a wide range of functions that meet most requirements. However, there is still room for improvement. One feature that I would like to see added is the ability to detect and address any failures in the custom processes or functions built within the system.
I would like to see a tool that can automatically sense and identify any issues in the system. Currently, when something goes wrong, it's not always immediately obvious and requires a lot of manual troubleshooting. It would be helpful if there was an error message that clearly explained why the system is failing. This would speed up the investigation process and make it ten times faster.
I have been working with Sage People since September 2021.
I am not aware of the version that we are using.
Sage People is a stable solution.
Sage People is very scalable.
The simplicity of the solution and its cost would depend on the specific requirements and scale of your organization.
However, in this particular case, the cost is too high for the intended purpose. I wouldn't recommend it.
If you wanted to, the system could be used as a platform for logging timesheets, holiday requests, and other similar tasks. In this scenario, the system would be self-sufficient and wouldn't require a skilled individual to configure it. For larger organizations seeking to incorporate various processes into the system, the possibilities are endless and the system can be tailored to meet a wide range of needs. Therefore, the system's flexibility can be scaled up or down depending on the organization's specific requirements.
I have contacted technical support.
I would rate the technical support a nine out of ten.
I have also used Workday.
Personally, I had a relatively easy setup experience with Sage People. I was fortunate enough to have our CEO, who was a managing director for Sage People before, and I also had the guidance of an implementation specialist.
However, I can imagine that smaller companies or companies without experience in Salesforce or FastHealth technology may struggle with the setup process.
While the flexibility of Sage People is a great attribute, it also requires someone with knowledge and expertise to operate the system effectively. In comparison to other HR systems, it's not as easy to set up due to its customizability.
Regarding onboarding, we had an excellent experience with an implementation specialist and a customer success manager who provided ongoing support.
Additionally, we had access to an online community called the Sage community, where we could submit tickets for any issues we encountered, and the support response time was usually within 24 to 48 hours.
Overall, while the setup process may not be the easiest, the support offered by Sage People is adequate.
From an SME standpoint, I wouldn't necessarily describe it as expensive. However, for the average startup, it may not be affordable since our current annual expenditure on the system, which supports approximately 210-220 users, amounts to approximately £15,000 to £18,000. As such, it may be considered pricey for a startup or small SME.
For SMEs that are growing and expanding beyond the 500-user mark, I believe it would be a suitable investment. The sweet spot for the system would be organizations within the range of 400-500 users, which includes both SMEs and larger organizations.
It really depends on the organization and whether they have someone who can dedicate a portion of their role to managing the system. If not, then I don't think it would be worthwhile for our HR function to set up, as it would require constant management to ensure it stays current and updates are applied as needed. This is because Sage People, like other platforms, receives quarterly or seasonal updates that need to be applied.
The issue with Sage People is that it is highly customized and specific for every organization. As a result, seasonal updates can sometimes cause issues with the processes that have been built. This is because Sage People cannot roll out an update without a few customers being adversely affected. While customer support can assist with any problems, the high level of customization means that each update must be carefully managed.
A single update can have a ripple effect on one of the processes that you have set up. This is why it's crucial to have someone who can dedicate a portion of their role to managing the system. If your organization is large enough, it would be ideal to have someone doing it full-time.
In my opinion, if you have the resources within your HR or IT team to configure and maintain the system, then it's worth considering. However, if you don't have that capacity, I would recommend opting for an out-of-the-box HR system that is self-sufficient.
I would rate Sage People an eight out of ten.
I recognize the full potential of Sage People. With a dedicated individual to oversee it, the system can remain up-to-date and align with the company's strategies and requirements. However, I cannot recommend it without reservation as it is crucial to have someone dedicated to maintaining the system, treating it like a live platform that requires constant evolution on a weekly or monthly basis.
I would rate Sage People an eight out of ten because I see its full potential. It offers great customization options and its reporting function is second only to Workday and other HR systems that I've used.
We were using Sage People as our HRIS system. So we used it, like, from the employees' standpoint, so they were able to view all their employee information on the HRIS system. We didn't use it for payroll. We had a lot of integration, and that was probably my biggest issue with the solution. I was part of the implementation team, so I transferred over. We were using Bamboo HR before that. And then, we moved from Bamboo HR to Sage People. So Sage People just essentially replaced all the HRIS cases.
I won't be able to explain how Sage People helped improve my organization's functionality since I do not like the system.
The most valuable feature of the solution is the fact that it's customizable. The customizability of the solution is its problem. I guess I would say maybe that it is a more robust system.
The solution must be more customizable. So, if you're really looking to be able to customize the interface, then I would say that's where it would improve. But overall, I was not happy with it.
The user interface is not great. From an employee standpoint, it doesn't look updated and doesn't look new, and it requires effort on your part as the administrator to create the look of the system. Also, I would say customer service wasn't great. The whole training process on switching over systems wasn't great.
I don't even know how to describe what I need in the future in the solution. So, though not a particular feature, it should be made easier to use for the admins. It should be made more user-friendly.
I have been using Sage People for two years. I'm not currently using it since I left the company where I was using it. So, I'm not sure which version it was. However, I have used it in the last twelve months.
Stability-wise, I rate the solution a four out of ten.
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a six out of ten.
I rate the support a three out of ten.
Negative
The initial setup process of the solution was complex.
I haven't seen any return on investment.
I think it's reasonably priced. But in comparison to other systems, I would choose them over Sage People, regardless of their prices.
I would say be sure that you have someone who is very tech savvy, who could dedicate their time to switching to that system and then maintaining that system afterward. I think you really need, like, a point person that just handles this system.
I rate the overall solution a six out of ten.

We use the solution for payroll processing.
The solution is beneficial overall. Its most valuable feature is the ability to produce versatile reports.
They should make the solution more user-friendly. There needs to be a proper menu description. Presently, it is challenging to find the required functions.
We have been using the solution since 2019.
I rate the solution's stability as a nine.
We have around 800 licenses for the solution. It is better suitable for large businesses than small companies.
The solution's technical support could have been better.
We take help from a consultant to implement the solution.
The solution's cost is moderate for a multi-group licensing model. Also, they are willing to negotiate for the same.
I rate the solution as an eight. It is not easy to use. Many functions require prior training. Also, the training program is costly.

We use Sage People to manage our payroll.
The solution provides the ability to trace back records, is reliable, makes life easy, and is secure.
The automation in Sage People could improve. The solution is the best used for data storage but the automation could be better to have more functionality.
In a future release, there should be more automation to minimize manual tasks, such as not having to manually enter prorated monthly data.
I have used Sage People within the last 12 months.
Since I have been using Sage People I have not had any stability issues. If there are some issues it is the network connections' fault, not the solution itself.
The solution is stable.
Sage People is a scalable solution.
We moved from 300 to 400 people using the solutions.
If we want to expand we only need to purchase the module we want.
I have used the support recently. We were looking at integrating payroll reporting into the account module and with a click of a button the journals can be transferred. The support was helpful.
If we need support here in Nigeria we have to follow the SLA. Depending on the support request can take a few days but they are responsive.
I rate the support from Sage People an eight out of ten.
Positive
The initial setup of Sage People is easy. The length of time it takes for the deployment depends on the size of the company, and the user's commitment to getting the data ready. Typically, the solution should be functional in two weeks.
There is other software on the market that can do similar functions to Sage People that could be better in price. Some solution allows you to do your payroll processes by month or by the process. Small companies could benefit by using another solution.
We pay approximately $3,000 annually to use the solution.
We are using the solution because it is easy for us to outline the reporting process.
I rate Sage People a seven out of ten.

The solution can be deployed on-premise and in the cloud. We have used both Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure as cloud providers.
I provide assistance to users of the solution and guide customers throughout their experience with it.
The solution is primarily utilized by my clients for payroll purposes, rather than HR-related needs.
The most valuable features of Sage People are the reports that are useful for decision-making and the API that can be integrated well. Additionally, the solution can be accessed from mobile devices onto the cloud.
Sage People is a popular choice among users due to its ability to easily integrate with various financial systems, such as Sage 300 cloud, as well as other versions of Sage and HR systems, ensuring a seamless experience for users.
If Sage People were to become a fully cloud-based solution, it could lead to significant improvements. With the COVID pandemic highlighting the benefits of remote work, a complete shift to cloud-based functionality would be a welcome development for users.
Sage People's report design could benefit from improvement as it currently relies on Dev Express. Using a different report design solution could potentially enhance the user experience.
There are parts of the HR capabilities that are missing.
I have been using Sage People for approximately four years.
Sage People is highly scalable.
The scalability of Sage People is good.
When my customers need assistance with the solution I provide them support.
The setup process for Sage People is generally straightforward, although the specific requirements for each user can affect the complexity. The time needed for implementation is largely determined by the amount of information provided. For instance, if only payroll information is needed and the amount of data to be entered is relatively small, the setup process may be completed quickly. However, the duration of the initial setup can vary and may take several hours for larger user groups, such as a hundred users.
I provide the implementation of Sage People for my customers.
The cost of Sage People varies depending on the financial resources of the organization. While it may be affordable for middle-level companies, it may be more challenging for young companies to bear the cost.
I would recommend using Sage People, but it ultimately depends on the specific needs and use cases.
I rate Sage People a nine out of ten.
Our organization has been assisted by Sage People as it enabled us to transition from using spreadsheets to an online system. This has resulted in enhanced visibility of our data and reporting capabilities.
The most valuable feature of Sage People is the integration with our payroll system.
The integration with our payroll system could improve. However, it is managed by another company.
I have been using Sage People for approximately two years.
The stability of Sage People is fine.
Sage People is scalable. We are not a large organization, with approximately 500 people. We have onboarded approximately 200 people.
Our use of this solution is based on one location for our HR department.
We have raised several queries to the technical support team through their community portal, and we have found their services to be satisfactory. They have been able to resolve every issue we brought up to our satisfaction.
We previously used spreadsheets and pen and paper.
The initial setup of Sage People was easy.
The implementation of the complete solution spanned over eight months, mainly because we implemented four solutions simultaneously.
The implementation team that we worked with was very good. We had a dedicated team that worked with them to deploy the solution.
The price of the solution is reasonable.
Before selecting Sage People, we evaluated other solutions. Our decision to go with Sage People was primarily because it was built on the Salesforce platform. Since our other critical business teams were already using Salesforce, we wanted to ensure that everything was integrated into one platform.
It's an easy solution to implement. We have not had any problems.
The maintenance is done by one of our partners.
The solution meets our requirements, but to receive a rating of ten out of ten, it would have to exceed our expectations.
I'm in charge of the Americas HR services area at my company in the aerospace industry. As part of my job, I need to ensure the accuracy of employee records by identifying if there are any discrepancies in the main system. We use a hire to retire process, and when a person is a candidate all their details are stored in our system.
When we onboard new staff, we need to make the necessary changes on the system, which includes managing salary changes, starters, leavers, turnover, and all the reports assigned for this region. With Sage and ADP integrations we have all the models we need to manage the employee lifecycle, as well as other models for areas such as performance, talent acquisition, recruiting, and so on.
We were previously using Vision HR, but we are all migrating to Sage because our company has been merged with another company where they have been using Sage for at least four years. We have around 20 people in total in the HR department now, although some of them have different responsibilities such as organizational development, talent acquisition, talent development, payroll, and HR services. All the HR representatives cover three different regions: APAC, EMEA, and Americas.
Compared to the other system that we were using, I think Sage is more friendly. As an administrator, Sage's dashboard is visually friendly and many tasks are easier to accomplish. Another feature that we've liked since we started using Sage is the reporting. With the other system, we needed to configure a lot of things manually when it came to reporting, but with Sage the reporting tasks are much simpler.
Another great thing about Sage is that we can now send our offer letters directly through the system, which is something we couldn't do in the previous solution we were using.
We only have two months working experience with Sage, so there isn't much in the way of improvement that I can suggest. However, in my and other areas of HR, sometimes we need requests to have an HR ticket administrator, or some kind of HR system ticket management in order to track and respond to the claims or changes of internal clients or hiring managers.
Right now, Sage doesn't seem to have what we are looking for when it comes to managing HR tickets. In my previous experiences with other HR software, we had to buy another solution to obtain this functionality, and it would be a great feature for Sage to consider adding. For an HR system, Sage would do very well to include it.
I have been using Sage People for two months now, although my company has been using it for four years already.
The stability of Sage is great. We haven't had any system problems this month.
Sage is very functional for us when it comes to scalability.
The responses we get from technical support are very quick. I think that the biggest delay was one day, after which we were provided with a solution to the problem.
We were previously using Vision HR, but as a result of a merger at my company, we are now using Sage People.
The initial setup is quite easy, I think. We pay for a consultancy firm, Infosys, and they are helping us with the full migration.
We have not faced many challenges with using Sage up till now, although there may be some challenges yet when it comes to completely migrating all the old system's information over to Sage.
As we are still performing the migration, we will have to wait and see. The plan is to have it fully completed by the end of June, although there may be a small delay. We are currently using a consultancy firm and everything is going okay with them. We have the program manager from the consultancy firm working with our in-house project manager, and another two staff members in HR who are responsible for identifying all the required functionality that we need from Sage. All in all, there are four main people involved in the migration and new deployment.
I believe we pay licensing on a yearly basis, but I can't comment on the total amount that we pay on licensing.
Compared to the other HR systems I have used in the past, I can say that Sage is in my top five when it comes to recommendations.
I would rate Sage People a nine out of ten.
We use the solution for application management. We can analyze the quality and response time of the application using it.
They should improve the solution's stability.
I rate the solution's stability as a six.
We have five users of the solution in our organization.
The solution's initial setup was straightforward.
Our in-house administrator executes the solution's deployment.
We have to purchase the solution's license to use it.
I recommend the solution to others and rate it as a six.
