| Cloud and Solution Principal Architect at sumNERV Provider AB | 5.0 | AvePoint Cloud Backup, used internally at sumNERV, excels in backup and granular restore capabilities across various platforms like Microsoft 365 and Salesforce. Its innovation and responsiveness meet high security standards, though improvements in Google Backup for larger environments would be beneficial. |
| Consultant at SPK | 4.5 | I am testing AvePoint Cloud Backup for automated backup and have been using it for a few months. The SaaS feature is strong, but configuration could be easier. I'm exploring other solutions like Veritas, with no ROI details yet. |
| IT System Engineer at Priedes | 4.0 | AvePoint Cloud Backup is known for its intuitive management interface and easy configuration. However, it could improve by allowing more frequent backups. While it's more complex than Veeam, it remains a reliable choice for those seeking a no-cost solution. |
| Owner at Innovation through understanding | 4.0 | We use AvePoint Cloud Backup for custom cloud solutions and Microsoft 365 services. It excels in data security policies and compliance. However, the sales process is complex, especially for smaller businesses, as it relies on IT system distributors rather than direct sales. |
| Director at Diangle Solutions Limited | 4.5 | I use AvePoint Cloud Backup for daily backups in my company, finding the backup and recovery functionalities very beneficial. While the price could be improved, the product offers good ROI, making it worth the investment. |
| Consultant - Microsoft Solutions at Mannai Corporation QPSC | 4.5 | In my company, we use AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft Exchange Online due to its ease of use and efficient performance. | VCIO at Thrive | 4.0 | I use AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint OneDrive due to its immutability, which protects against ransomware. However, the initial data seeding took 45 days for 10 TB. I have seen a positive ROI. |
| Sales Manager at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees | 4.5 | As a reseller, I find AvePoint the best for Office 365 backup, and customers are satisfied. However, its price and limited scope (not for Azure) mean some seek alternatives. I rate it 9/10. |

The primary use case for AvePoint Cloud Backup involves my customers migrating their solutions from on-premises Office solutions like Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams. They require a good backup solution for their data.
AvePoint Cloud Backup has proven to be beneficial with its self-service part and integration with Teams. Its good quality restoration solution is also noted positively. While it is the most expensive option, I deem it the best in the market and it has good control over automated backup schedules.
AvePoint Cloud Backup's pricing could be lower and more flexible. Particularly, when dealing with smaller customers or more minor businesses, obtaining competitive pricing for bundles rather than on a one-by-one basis remains challenging.
I have been working with AvePoint Cloud Backup for four to five years.
AvePoint Cloud Backup is considered a good and stable solution, and I receive favorable feedback.
Scaling from a small number of endpoints to thousands is not difficult for me. However, there are challenging commercial discussions I have concerning accommodating a customer base with diverse sizes.
While the specific details of the initial setup are lacking, the initial deployment involved me using more hours than calculated but this issue is resolved with expert technicians.
When I deal with enterprises, good pricing is achieved. However, pricing becomes less favorable for smaller companies. Offering a package plan for multiple small clients would be beneficial.
Offering both AvePoint and Veeam backup solutions is necessary for me to cover varying market demands and spending capacities.
The product is highly recommended for my enterprise customers due to its quality. The score for the product is between eight and ten, based on satisfaction levels. My clients are satisfied, but AvePoint Cloud Backup is costlier for smaller or medium-sized enterprises. Commercial discussions can be challenging on that front. I rate the overall solution a 9 out of 10.

sumNERV offers AvePoint Cloud Backup fully managed as a service (MBaaS SaaS) to either end customers or MSP's globally.
We have built a fully managed service where we include all backup and restore capabilities from Microsoft 365, Dynamics, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Azure workloads, and Azure AD based on AvePoint.
sumNERV uses AvePoint Cloud Backup for internal IT since AvePoint is the leading vendor when it comes to SaaS protection. AvePoint Cloud Backup really meets our clients' needs but also our high security standards at sumNERV from a security perspective.
The fact that AvePoint focuses on restore capabilities, not just backup is valuable. The main intention of backup is to restore data, and that's the major differential with AvePoint compared to other vendors.
Many claim to do backup, but that's not the same. The crucial part is the ability to perform granular restores, having restore-level objectives (RLO) instead of restoring entire SharePoint sites when you only need a single document. AvePoint excels in providing extremely granular restore capabilities with great Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
AvePoint Cloud Backup comes with Immutable Storage and our OPEX licensing model also includes Unlimited Storage.
This is where AvePoint shines. They are forward-leaning in their development. We had a conversation with one of their developers about an idea, and a few months later, it was implemented. Their innovation and responsiveness to client needs make them a leader in the market. I don't see any room for improvement compared to other vendors. We're truly satisfied with them.
The great thing is when we communicate these needs to AvePoint, they swiftly incorporate them in upcoming releases.
However, in future releases, it would be beneficial to have a more optimal Google Backup for larger environments.
We have been using this solution for more than five years. We use the latest version of AvePoint in our fully managed service offering called MBaaS SaaS.
I would rate the stability a solid ten out of ten. It is very stable.
I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. It is a very scalable solution. We have clients with 70,000 teams deployed, and it scales perfectly.
We had some challenges with Google backups. The support rewrote the actual agent to improve this. AvePoint's support is amazing. They are actual people you can email or call, and their knowledgeable support was a major factor in us choosing AvePoint for our fully managed backup services offering MBaaS SaaS.
The support knows what they are doing.
Positive
The initial setup is super easy. You set up an enterprise application that communicates, instead of using the global admin account, between the AOS tenant and your Microsoft 365 tenant. Meaning that it will be more secure since you're leveraging and using the REST APIs, and you really just need to provide backup and restore capabilities for your data. It's a really simple process, takes just about two minutes maximum. And then you also have room for some coffee within those two minutes, so that's perfect. So, it's really, really easy.
We at sumNERV offer a true OPEX licensing model for AvePoint Cloud Backup so you only pay for what you use. Our MBaaS SaaS offering includes only the assigned Microsoft 365 licenses, no need to CAPEX pre-buy in bulk anymore.
AvePoint Cloud Backup also comes with Unlimited Storage and Unlimited Retention which is a great benefit for the clients.
I would recommend doing a proof of concept. You can do a 30-day free trial of AvePoint Cloud Backup. We at sumNERV are more than happy to help people set up free 30-day trials so they can try it out themselves.
Before you invest in something as crucial as backups you need to be very sure that you are investing in the right piece of technology because here's the thing.
Once you start building a backup history with one vendor, you cannot easily move that data to another vendor. This is because each vendor has their own storage protocols. So do a proof of concept to try out all the restore capabilities and make sure that the solution meets or exceeds your needs.
Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten.
I am testing AvePoint Cloud Backup. I am currently using it for automated backup. I installed it two or three months ago on two or three machines.
I find AvePoint Cloud Backup to be very helpful. It allows me to perform automated backups, which are conducted every hour.
The SaaS feature of AvePoint Cloud Backup is very strong. I am just testing around many backup solutions, and AvePoint is one of them.
I would appreciate more easy configurations. The configuration could be made easier.
I have been using AvePoint Cloud Backup for two months.
The stability of AvePoint is good, and I would rate it an eight out of ten.
AvePoint Cloud Backup is a scalable solution.
I have not experienced technical support with AvePoint Cloud Backup.
Positive
I have also tested Veritas.
The installation was easy. It took one hour to set up on two or three machines.
I installed the product myself.
I am not aware of any financial aspects related to the use of AvePoint Cloud Backup. Therefore, no confirmed ROI can be calculated at this time.
The pricing is fair, and the solution is not expensive.
I have tested Veritas.
I would recommend AvePoint Cloud Backup due to its interesting SaaS deployment and its compatibility with a multi-cloud environment.
I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

The most valuable features of the solution stem from the easy management interface and easy configuration of the whole setup, which is super smooth and easily understandable for everyone.
The component in the product that can be improved revolves around the area where the tool should focus on providing more of a custom touch to the policies. As far as I checked, you can use the backup data option four times per day at customized time intervals, and it would be great if the limit could be increased. Customers would love to have a bit more regular backup to deal with use cases involving an exchange of data.
I have been using AvePoint Cloud Backup for three months. I am a reseller of the product.
I know no stability issues that have been reported by the customers who use the solution.
I am not sure about the scalability part of the solution.
My company caters to the needs of mostly enterprise-sized customers of the product.
Compared to backup products from Veeam, I would say that AvePoint Cloud Backup is reliable and easy to set up and manage. Compared to Veeam, AvePoint Cloud Backup is a bit more of a heavy tool, though it provides options like policies, data storage, and so on. There is some level of training required to be able to use the tool as it is not so easy to set it up and manage it on a daily basis. One of Microsoft's native solutions is not a product that I can consider as a backup solution. AvePoint Cloud Backup is a tool that offers reliability to those who do not want to spend money on a product.
The product's initial setup phase was super easy.
Only one person is required to manage the product's installation phase.
The solution can be deployed in twenty minutes.
I managed the installation process of the product.
I would say that the pricing policy of the product is flexible and good.
Speaking about how AvePoint Cloud Backup has enhanced our company's clients' data protection strategy for Office 365, I would say that I don't work directly with the customers of the product. My company sells the product at the moment. I believe that the product offers better compliance, especially in areas like where and how the data is stored while being in control of the data to be safe if something happens.
The features of AvePoint Cloud Backup that are most critical for data security needs stem from the fact that the product provides a trusted location for the data to be stored while also making sure that 100 percent of the data is retained or deleted whenever needed by the user.
I believe that the fast backup provided by the product has improved our company's clients' operational efficiency.
In my opinion, the product does not require any maintenance.
I can't share any experiences of data recovery with AvePoint Cloud Backup during an outage or data loss incident since I haven't luckily faced such a situation.
When comparing AvePoint Cloud Backup with Dynamics 365, Teams, and so on, one should follow and continue the use of new releases and services from Microsoft. From a service perspective, it is great that one also gets to use Microsoft Power Platform's features, which most other products don't cover.
I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.

We use the product to back up cloud data from custom cloud solutions or Microsoft 365 services.
We can break up the site and restore it quite easily. The most promising feature of the product is data security policies, which make it simpler to include compliance processes. It offers easy-to-implement data information and a data deletion policy. Various features help customers comply with different security requirements.
The product's sales process needs improvement. It takes a lot of work to acquire it. AvePoint doesn't sell products directly to the customers. They take the help of IT system distributors. It is challenging for small or medium-sized businesses to purchase it. This particular area needs improvement compared to other companies.
We have been using AvePoint Cloud Backup for half a year.
Earlier, we encountered platform availability issues while using full-service cloud backup providers. This is not the case with AvePoint. I rate its stability a ten out of ten.
The product is easy to scale. Three customers are using it, and at least one has migrated from another solution. It is suitable for small and medium businesses. I rate the scalability a nine out of ten.
We do not contact AvePoint's support team directly. We receive the support from a reseller. They provide good services. However, the documentation could be better. We could scan through it and find the solutions without calling customer support. It needs to be more structured and updated.
Neutral
The initial setup is straightforward and very well-designed compared to other products. We don't need to deploy it because it is included in the storage. We can start using it immediately after buying it. I rate the process a nine out of ten.
The platform is more expensive than other vendors. However, the price is justified regarding good stability and user experience. We don't need to provide cloud storage for it. Summing it up, it might even be less expensive than other solutions.
I advise others to find suitable resources you can work with. If that's possible, it is quite easy to get it running. I rate AvePoint Cloud Backup an eight out of ten.

I use the solution for daily backups in my company.
The backup and recovery functionalities of the product are very useful.
The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required.
I have been using AvePoint Cloud Backup for ten years. I operate as an implementer of the product in my company.
It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
My company deals with mostly enterprise-sized businesses.
Mostly, the support is very knowledgeable, and everything is okay. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.
Positive
I rate the product's initial setup phase as two on a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy. The product's initial setup phase is very difficult.
The solution is deployed on a private cloud.
The solution can be deployed in a few days.
In terms of ROI, the product is worth the money.
The product is a bit expensive. I rate the product's price a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.
The product offers features that support full automation.
When it comes to Microsoft Teams, some products cannot back up private channels, but AvePoint Cloud Backup can do it.
I recommend the product to others, considering that it is a stable product. The post-setup phase can be very convenient for the end users. The product is also very fast.
To leverage AI to enhance backup and recovery capabilities, AvePoint Cloud Backup has options, like Microsoft Teams and a bot that helps people use AI to restore individual files.
I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

In my company, we use AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft Exchange Online and for the mailboxes in Exchange.
The most valuable feature of the solution is that AvePoint is already available on all the backup systems, so they have options for restoring mailboxes or individual licenses. One can directly restore it at the source or at some other destination. Performance-wise, it is the easiest tool.
As of now, AvePoint doesn't provide instructions about the licensing details or how the backups work. For improvement, AvePoint can provide details on how the tool's backup scope works. You can create a backup scope by following some rules provided by AvePoint. Based on the backup scope, you can create the container which will take the backup, but there are no clear details on the total licenses required for it and which mailboxes won't be covered under the backup because of the missing licenses. If AvePoint provides licensing details, it would be easy for an administrator to see the main sources or scope in terms of the license. The administrators can know the mailboxes considered under the backup.
I have been using AvePoint Cloud Backup for almost six months. My company has a partnership with AvePoint.
It is a very good and stable solution.
The scalability of the solution is not in our company's control. Around 220 mailboxes are using the backup services provided by the tool.
Three to four administrators from the IT department are in charge of the product in my company. The administrators use the portal as a backup for mailboxes, but they don't use the tool directly and contact the IT team before using it.
With other migration tools, the support team used to respond, but they never provided us with any suggestions or recommendations. With AvePoint's support, our experience has been exceptional. Whatever queries I had, the support provided a solution. The support also provides suggestions for our queries and guides the caller by quickly providing multiple plans or alternatives and proper recommendations.
I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.
Positive
The initial setup of AvePoint Cloud Backup is easy, provided you read their documentation without skipping any topic.
The solution is deployed on the cloud since the tool's backup integration is based on Azure Cloud.
The pricing part of the solution is based on a subscription model, which is based on the number of users or storage capacity.
I would definitely recommend the solution to those planning to use it, especially if you can move your backup to a cloud after considering your company's compliance policies allow you to do so.
AvePoint Cloud Backup is a user-friendly tool, and whatever restore processes we had done using the tool were fine. I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

The recovery options in Microsoft 365 are not adequate and it does not help to recover data from the recycle bin that is older than 90 days. The solution has made us more efficient and helps to recover data that is older than 90 days.
I like the product's immutability. You can have a second copy which ransomware can't get access to.
I would like to see improvements in the tool's initial seed. The initial seed of around 10 TB of SharePoint data took 45 days to complete.
I would rate the solution's stability a ten out of ten.
AvePoint Cloud Backup's setup is straightforward.
We have seen ROI with the tool's use.
I would rate AvePoint Cloud Backup an eight out of ten.
I'm a sales manager, and I handle the responsibility of the banking sector in the Norwegian market. I don't use the product myself, but I have some customers who are using this product, and they are satisfied with it.
I'm working in a large IT company in Scandinavia, and we use AvePoint for several customers. We are a reseller, and we deliver services around this product.
It is the best product in the market for Office 365 backup, and our customers are satisfied with it.
Its price is a problem in some cases, and they want us to find a cheaper solution.
Some customers choose other backup solutions because AvePoint is Office 365 and CRM backup system, but they have other backup needs for Azure and so on. Such customers often choose another backup solution instead of AvePoint.
I have been familiar with it for about two years.
I have not heard of any issues related to its stability and reliability. Long ago, there was an issue with restoration, but they fixed it.
Norwegian banks have from 10,000 to 34,500 employees. We often recommend AvePoint to the largest customers we have because they want a good solution for Office 365. They can choose, for example, Veeam, Metallic, or another solution to meet the other needs they have to take backup of Azure and other public clouds.
I know that we are spending around 50 to 60 hours to set up AvePoint, the self-service portals, and so on for a new customer, but I don't know whether it is easy or not. We have specialist resources on that. So, it shouldn’t be complex for us. I assume that if you have done it once or twice, you would get familiar with the solution.
It is very good for many of my customers in the banking and finance segments. The price isn't a problem there, but in some other industries, people ask for a cheaper solution. When the price is an issue for the customer, we recommend Veeam, Metallic.
I would rate it a nine out of ten.
