An Easy to use tool for brainstorming and planning, compatible with Microsoft Project
This solution works well enough. One can always dream up certain things that may or may not be worth implementing in a piece of software because some other people might have some other better priorities that make more sense. But I would say for what I need it to do, I'm okay. My advice to others is to get it, and use it! It's very good and useful. I am pretty sure that the functionality it has today has more modern methodologies than what I use, but for me, it has been very useful and I have kept using it all of this time. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

"The metadata map provides operational navigation to complete business processes."
"My advice to others is to get it, and use it! It's very good and useful."

Cons

"The price could be improved. I have heard that certain adjustments would be made in 2024 and that it will then be more expensive, but I don't know the specifics."
"Indentation and other basic word processing styles must be improved."
"You need to buy a full license for your entire organization, even though you only need a plugin for two people."
"The area that needs improvement is the search capability. It should have generalized capabilities."
"The user interface could be improved."
"Nowadays, the standard for documentation for developers is mostly in Markdown, so pretty much everything we can do is in the Markdown language. The support for Confluence to import something that's in Markdown is not that great."
"Being robust when dealing with complex pages, eating too much CPU, badly designed plugins."
"The way Atlassian Confluence handles tickets could be improved; this process should be easier, more flexible, and more usable, such as the ease of creating a table."
"The SQL based database connectivity and data access for analysis and reporting, both need some attention."
"I don't know what the pricing is at now, but at the time the price hike upset me to the point that I stopped upgrading."
"Since I have been using such an old version, most of the improvements have already been made, but I would suggest moving forward with the times and creating a cloud-based solution for universal access."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have a site license for Atlassian Confluence and there are some limitations on external users."
"In my opinion, it's worth the investment"
"There is a license needed to use Atlassian Confluence."
"For us, it's free to use. We don't pay any licensing."
"The Confluence pricing is good. The only challenge we have experienced is with Jira and the add ons we use that need to be paid for separately."
"I am using the paid version. My company has purchased it for company employees. We are using Confluence as a company. I don't know how much it costs, but its price is good enough. Its price is not so high."
"There is an annual license."
"We have to pay licensing fees."
"The price was very good in the beginning, then the price increased from USD $99.00 to USD $249.00, then I stopped upgrading because what I needed was already there."
