Manage projects effectively with seamless task tracking and integration, but deployment requires familiarity
We are conducting all our project management using Atlassian tools. We use Atlassian Confluence for task management, reporting, visualization of tasks, and reviewing the progress of tickets and work I use Atlassian Confluence for task management and other project management tasks, such as…

A good product that helps me to manage complex digital solutions
My advice to others would be that Drupal is not only a CMS, you need to learn the Drupal fundamentals before to start the project. Drupal is a handy tool whenever you work on a digital infrastructure broad project and not only a simple website. So if you have a big project, you can use Drupal. But if you have a small website, like a blog or simple website, my advice would be not to use Drupal, because Drupal is too complex and the cost to maintain the platform can be too high, related to the value of your website, for example. If you have a website with a big product catalog, for example, in many languages and in many countries in the world, then Drupal is good. But if you have a simple website, like a portfolio or five page-website, you can use many other technologies that'd be simple to maintain and implement. On a scale from one to 10, I will rate Drupal an eight. In the next release, I would like to see basic page buttons and better integration with the analytics platform. A drag and drop function to create simple pages will also be handy. For example, if a customer wants to create a landing page, it should be easy for him or her to do so. I would also like to see better translation management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What I like the most is the Wiki software that comes with Atlassian Confluence."
"The linkage between the different Atlassian products is what I find most valuable, as you can easily link Atlassian Confluence into a Jira ticket, which allows for a quick overview when you are in the ticket system and the ability to quickly dive deeper into the Wiki directly."
"The scalability is enough for our use cases. It covers all our needs."
"The ease of use has been one of the most valuable features."
"The integration's very good. You still have integration with lots of third party products, and it's very good."
"The solution is stable."
"The macros feature in Confluence is quite valuable."
"Atlassian Confluence has helped the company a lot."
"Previously, I have used a variety of solutions, including the custom ones, and I switched solutions because Drupal provides all the features that I need."
"Drupal always rises above for a large scale contributor base, general security, and lack of vulnerabilities."
"But it is worth it if you require an enterprise level web platform with great scalability, support, and security."
"It is good for big projects."
"Drupal is one of the most robust content management systems."
"The feature I find most valuable is that Drupal is a framework and not only a CMS."
"If you need an open-source, scalable and secure CMS, then go for Drupal."
"With over 23,000 contributed modules, there’s a high chance that any feature you want has already been built, and is available for you to use at no cost."

Cons

"JIRA and Confluence connectivity needs to be stabilized. We've faced embarrassing situations with stakeholders when the Confluence pages could not pull the list of JIRAs to be referenced on the page."
"Reporting on content usage info and patterns is completely missing and would be a great addition."
"Deployment can be painful when you have to deal with different Java versions or keystores."
"There are certain features, like AD FS and workflows, that don't appear to be mature enough for Enterprise use."
"The one way in which this solution could be improved is by offering better design and UI."
"The software does not currently have any kind of AI integration. Given that many platforms are now incorporating AI, I believe Confluence should also consider AI integration."
"Sometimes the system does not respond as fast as a normal web interface."
"I would like to see more macros provided by the company included in the license."
"Digital experience features like target, segmentation, and campaign management have a long way to go."
"It needs a better UI for the back-end user."
"Unfortunately, with Drupal, there is a number of learning paradigms that you have to discover, which can make it difficult to understand as a newcomer."
"The GUI is still not as intuitive as WordPress."
"Drupal 8 is only 1.5 years old. It has stability issues, but not major ones."
"The modules need to be improved."
"Migration from one major version to the next major version requires significant effort."
"My advice would be not to use Drupal, because Drupal is too complex and the cost to maintain the platform can be too high, related to the value of your website, for example."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is an annual license."
"The Confluence pricing is good. The only challenge we have experienced is with Jira and the add ons we use that need to be paid for separately."
"We have a site license for Atlassian Confluence and there are some limitations on external users."
"We have to pay licensing fees."
"The product is neither cheap nor expensive, meaning its price falls somewhere in the mid-range zone."
"Confluence charges an extra fee for analytics."
"In my opinion, it's worth the investment"
"Pricing wise, it ends up being an expensive solution. In the beginning it's cheap, but by the time you have all the functions you need, it turns out to be expensive."
"I would like to see better pricing."
