Responsive support, easy to use, and reliable
It helped a lot when we started using it with more images. Before, it was basic. With images, it's more effective. Users consider it more animated and user-friendly. We can easily track a process and know exactly where a process is. It's a low-code application. The solution is very easy to use. It is stable and reliable. The solution scales well. Technical support is extremely responsive.

Automated workflows have transformed document handling and support daily approvals and billing
The best features Hyland OnBase offers in my experience include being a robust storage solution that integrates well with the Epic solution, allows Unity Forms to be easy to create and use, and has Distribution Services for sending email notifications as reminders.Out of those features, the workflow engine has made the biggest difference for me because it is excellent for automating approval processes, and we use Hyland OnBase for legal requests, hardware requests, travel requests, corporate credit card requests, and file transfer requests. WorkView is an incredible module for gathering and displaying summary information, and we utilize it highly in our subsidiary to manage our legal contracts, their financial billing process, and their travel. We also use the Document Import Process coupled with Unity API for writing custom code to automate processes to send and receive data from other systems that are not yet API enabled. The impact of Hyland OnBase on our organization is that automating manual processes has had an incredible effect on our return on investment, and the man-hours saved by automating processes pays for the system, ranging from one to five hours. I measured the man-hours saved through the tracking of workflows and automation processes. Additionally, Hyland OnBase has allowed us to move away from moving paper around various departments, providing workflow management to keep approval inside the system and out of the email boxes, eliminating the need for paper storage, and saving storage costs with other vendors.

Laserfiche and OnBase can both be classified as such. They both run very robust Business Process Management applications. I personally know that the Laserfiche application has grown enormously over the past few years and is classified by the Gartner Group as one of the leaders in the industry. If you would like more specifics I would gladly discuss with you but would require a few more details.

I am not familiar with LaserFiche or AuraPortal, but we employ OnBase here and I am familiar with IBM's ECM platform. Without splitting too many hairs, tools like these provide a "content-enabled" workflow and are often referred to as Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems. That is, they don't do anything until a piece of content presents itself for processing. They are very good at automating/mechanizing a wide variety of business processes that have a form (paper or electronic) associated with them. Business Process Management packages are designed to be able to create workflows that do not depend on a piece of content to function properly. So, it depends on what problem you are trying to solve. If the business process that you are trying to automate has content (forms, faxes, etc) then ECM packages like OnBase, LaserFiche, etc. might fit your need. If you need to automate processes that do not require content, then a more traditional BPM system might be required.
