Fast and secure deployments simplify operations for government and fintech clients
It is a fast and secure DNS. It is very easy to deploy, and my customers are happy with this tool. Additionally, the CDN performance in Mexico is excellent, providing fast service and tools. It offers reliability during high-traffic periods, ensuring no impact on the environment. It helps my clients avoid using on-premise boxes, simplifying operations as they only use the prices on Cloudflare.

Managing bot traffic effectively enhances usability for non-technical users
Barracuda Web Application Firewall lacks some of the more specified and structured features offered by solutions like Tenable. Although Tenable is more expensive and less easily deployable, its features are more deepened and chiseled, particularly for IT personnel. For example, Tenable provides more comprehensive dark web scanning capabilities, which Barracuda could improve upon.

Protects our web applications and APIs and has a very low false positive rate
CloudGuard WAF is a very straightforward solution. I do not have to worry about signatures. Most of the solutions that are out there are mainly based on signatures, and I have to do a lot of maintenance to get the signature updates, and sometimes, due to a lack of resources, I am not able to do so. With CloudGuard WAF, I have peace of mind, because most of the features are AI-based, and there is not much configuration that needs to be done on my side. Once set, I only go to CloudGuard WAF to check. I do not have to worry about signatures or updates. Everything is done perfectly, and I have a sense of peace because I know our applications are safe. It is very important for us that CloudGuard WAF protects our applications against threats without relying on signatures. That is definitely one of the key features I need.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Cloudflare DNS is its global reach and it is always evolving."
"The simplicity of the overall dashboard makes it a great product for a user like me who has less understanding of the internet than a developer or other more technical people. It gives me peace of mind. I also love the easy customization of the Page Rules."
"We're using dynamic components to build flexible pages to create and manage Git merge requests for code and reviews."
"It is easier to configure and develop documentation to see how we have configured firewalls."
"Cloudflare has many features."
"The solution is stable, and the DNS servers are simple to use."
"I get a lot of value from Cloudflare's API because it enables you to build a separate environment inside the solution. You can create a domain for performing test requests before you move to the production environment and connect various domains."
"It's a great product because it's scalable, has great coverage, and is mature with good defenses against DDoS attacks."
"It allows us to scale out to multiple phase servers."
"The customer service and support from Barracuda have been excellent."
"The most valuable features of Barracuda Web Application Firewall include advanced bot protection, DDoS protection, and addressing the top ten vulnerabilities."
"Has a good dashboard."
"The updating and signature features are my primary use case for the solution. These features are beneficial to my organization."
"We use Barracuda to protect the application. That's the main feature we use it for."
"The most valuable feature is the automatic content filtering."
"The solution offers multiple security features. There are machine learning features and great URL encryption. It also offers multi-protocol support against DDoS attacks."
"Since we've had CloudGuard, we've never had these issues happen again."
"The most effective CloudGuard feature for threat prevention is its web app protection."
"With the solution, we managed to obtain complete comprehensive visibility of the entire environment in the cloud, thus having better control of each of the resources."
"On the endpoint side, the most valuable feature is undoubtedly the cloud-based management capability, along with the ransomware protection, despite not encountering any instances so far."
"We have not had any incidents. We could realize its benefits immediately. We watched and monitored the traffic, and it was amazing to see the results."
"The communication between the on-premises device and the cloud for analysis and feedback is a valuable feature."
"The tool helps us to block IPs and applications."
"The solution preemptively blocks zero-day attacks and detects hidden anomalies effectively."

Cons

"DNS Management."
"I think the APIs are a little bit hard for us to work with. The APIs could be more open so that we could integrate better with our SolarWinds or our monitoring solution."
"Support response time could be improved."
"It should confirm audit findings of the assigned area with auditees to ensure that the audit conclusions are based on an accurate understanding of the issues."
"I would like Cloudflare to offer a dedicated account manager for large enterprise clients like us."
"Integration involving API with other products could be more user-friendly."
"It should be easier to collect the logs with companies like Sumo. However, based on my discussions with the salespeople, I understand that's how they make their money. With the enterprise product, they want people doing those kinds of enterprise features to do the logging. They want them to pay a lot of money, and that's where I have an issue with them. That should be a default. You should be able to get the log no matter what. The logging should be universal."
"An integrated SSO feature would be useful for Cloudflare DNS."
"One of Barracuda's limitations is its user interface. The GUI for configuration is not intuitive and has remained largely unchanged for the past 10 to 12 years."
"There are false positives that I am receiving when compared to other WAFs. The issues with false positives affect client transactions, leading to complaints about blocked transactions."
"I have issues with the load balancing of the solution which is slow. The connection pooling in Barracuda also doesn't work. There is an issue when someone needs access to a site quickly. The issue is with HTTPS services. I am not sure if they have changed all these in the solution’s latest version."
"I think the main area for improvement in this product is learning it, as can be seen when comparing it to the F5 web application firewall. F5 has a very powerful learning phase when you start using your web application firewall against your site. Barracuda has something like this, but not with the same functionality from my point of view."
"I would suggest that someone implementing this product is knowledgeable in the IT field, and with the network needs. It is complex."
"The GUI needs to be improved because it sometimes hangs and needs to be restarted."
"The documentation is lacking. It's not like what you'd get if you were using Juniper or Cisco. They need to expand on it and make it more useful."
"I would like to see an improved capacity to store logs so that they will be available for a longer time."
"We would like to have a solution of this type for the administration of applications from mobile devices."
"There are improvements that can be made regarding pricing since it has a high initial cost."
"Cost reduction and trial period extension should be considered with some lucrative discount offerings in buying standard versions."
"The coding configurations can be simplified to save time for IT teams and developers."
"For now, the product is doing all that I need, however, I need the support of IPv6."
"While the GUI allows configuration for application-related features, specific definitions cannot be modified through the code."
"One of the big problems we found in Check Point, in general, is the support."
"I have encountered issues with Check Point CloudGuard Application Security's technical support. It also has missing configuration features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cloudflare's pricing is not much higher and is good for middle-level organizations."
"We are using the free version."
"The solution has many features but there are ones that you need to pay for. Sometimes you have to find out which is available for free and which you have to pay for."
"That is one of the great features. I was able to access the majority of the features and services for free."
"A free version of the solution is available."
"The pricing depends on the usage, but the cheapest would be around 5,000 USD a month."
"The price is reasonable."
"We are using the free tier of the solution."
"The product is inexpensive."
"Our licensing fees are paid annually and the cost is between €600 and €800 (approximately $665.00 to $885.00 USD)."

"The product pricing was competitive for the value it offers regarding security features."
"The Barracuda Web Application Firewall is quite expensive."
"The price of this solution is okay."
"The product is expensive."

"As Infiniti customers, the pricing is manageable, as we have allowances dedicated to each Check Point product. The price is not as high compared to other options I have dealt with in the past."
