Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Automated protection has reduced our management time and keeps all client environments consistently secure
Reporting in Bitdefender GravityZone Extended Detection and Response (XDR) could be improved. It has some reporting in it, but it's a little cumbersome to work with, so the reporting that is there could be improved. The analytics dashboards of Bitdefender GravityZone Extended Detection and Response (XDR) are quite useful, and they are nice in that we can see an overview very quickly and drill down into specific issues or specific clients. The dashboards are quite good, though it would be nice if we had the same with automated reports. It would be much more useful for us to have that via email or having a report. The only downside that we find is that the product is a little bit slow.

Managed detection has stopped account takeovers and has strengthened our incident response playbooks
Their threat analytics and process insights are exceptional. When Huntress Managed ITDR finds malware, a virus, or a phishing email, their analytics have improved significantly over time. I remember when they were not very detailed, but now they provide comprehensive information down to the specific type of dependency affected on a host machine. They show us exactly where all the infected files are located on the computer, which makes cleanup straightforward and invaluable. I know they partner with Microsoft, and if you have Huntress Managed ITDR and Microsoft Defender, it is truly near real-time as stated. That is a very accurate claim.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It'll not slow down your system when compared to others."
"The ability to kind of stitch everything together and see the actual complete picture is very useful. I guess you'd call it a playbook. Some people call it the forensics analysis of what was happening on particular endpoints when they detected some malicious behavior, and what transpired before that to cause that. It is also very user friendly. The way they have done everything and integrated all the solutions that they've purchased over the years to make it a very seamless, effective product is very good. One thing about Palo Alto is that they take the products or services that they purchase and make them seamless for the end user as compared to some companies that purchase other companies and then just kind of have their products off to the side or keep different interfaces. Palo Alto doesn't do that."
"We use Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for its ability to detect based on behavior rather than simple virus scan to prevent malicious activities."
"Palo Alto is constantly adding new features."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"The information the dashboard provides is very clear."
"They did what they said, and this solution could apply to any scenario."
"After deploying Traps, we saw the performance of the network improve by 65 to 70 percent."
"The best features in the product, as a reseller, are the integrated SOC; integration with a SOC is one of the advantages."
"The quarantine computer functionality is very good for me."
"We moved from Sophos antivirus to Bitdefender GravityZone Extended Detection and Response (XDR), and ever since then, we've been very happy with the product."
"The threat detection rates are exceptionally good, better than most of the competition."
"The product is easy to use."
"I find Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Plus to be a pretty good solution for the mid-level market, specifically for organizations with up to two hundred fifty users. I like that it is an averagely priced solution. It also has a straightforward installation that can be completed within three to five minutes. Its technical support is also good enough."
"We are using Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Plus for the threat protection and security of our network."
"The best thing about Bitdefender is that it has got top-notch features and it is not tied to specific countries like some other antivirus tools."
"My favorite feature of Huntress Managed ITDR is the automatic alerting and the automatic remediation."
"Huntress Managed ITDR is very good because I can make sure we're not getting false positives and a whole bunch of alerts that just become noise."
"In terms of pricing for Huntress Managed ITDR, it is very affordable from a K to 12 perspective, and considering the cost of a breach, having this peace of mind to proactively act in our environment is worth its weight in gold."
"The main takeaway is that the solution, not just this, the solution in general, the EDR as well, has allowed me to expand revenue, but more importantly, protect my clients in a way I have never been able to do before."
"Huntress Managed ITDR has helped me detect identity threats extremely effectively; Compromised accounts are managed extremely well because we often get sign-ins from unknown locations faster than a client is aware their account is compromised."
"The initial setup was very easy."
"However, with Huntress Managed ITDR, we don't have to deal with those scenarios because they simply don't happen."
"Huntress Managed ITDR examines various nulls from the M365 tenants. If anything suspicious is identified, their SOC analysts can take a closer look and subsequently take action."

Cons

"They have the worst support, as a company, that I have ever worked with, as they are difficult to get a hold of and keep on the phone. They don't know what they are talking about when you get them on the phone. They don't like to respond to messages when you send them to them. They like to "research problems" for weeks on end, then pass you off to somebody else."
"It is not a suitable solution if you are looking for a single product with multiple features such as DLP, encryption, rollback, etc."
"It would be good to have a better way to search for a file within the UI."
"Cortex XDR could be improved with more GUI features."
"For Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, if I had to point out improvements, I would say the UI is still somewhat difficult for beginners."
"I would like to see some additional features related to email protection included."
"Previously, the endpoint would leave the environment, not being on our VPN, essentially unable to interact with the server to upload files."
"The solution lacks real-time, on-demand antivirus."
"Some customers would like additional features that aren't available through the current GravityZone platform."
"I would like automatic issue fixing for users without needing to physically open the PC. I'd prefer updates and fixes from the cloud to avoid headaches and save time."
"The solution seems to be pretty amateur for an EDR solution, and it should be more in sync in terms of features, with solutions such as FireEye and SentinelOne."
"The solution must improve its management features."
"The solution seems to be pretty amateur for an EDR solution, and it should be more in sync in terms of features, with solutions such as FireEye and SentinelOne."
"Adding a feature like Data Loss Prevention would be beneficial."
"Reporting in Bitdefender GravityZone Extended Detection and Response (XDR) could be improved."
"Detection and response is a disadvantage that could be improved."
"I see improvements to the HaloPSA integration as something that could be better; it would be good to see more information in the ticket raised."
"Huntress Managed ITDR could improve by cleaning up the dashboard interface."
"More in-depth reporting could be beneficial for the solution."
"If anything, it's created more work, but that's because we're now seeing things that we weren't seeing before."
"The product needs further maturity, with some improvements in the user interface."
"One challenge has been applying rules to staff only due to the option in the VPN rules where I can either deny all VPNs for the organization or do case-by-case exceptions, with no in-between."
"The product needs further maturity, with some improvements in the user interface."
"One area that has room for improvement with Huntress Managed ITDR is that there was a gap with detections inside of America."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cortex XDR’s pricing is very reasonable."
"Its pricing is kind of in line with its competitors and everybody else out there."
"Our customers have expressed that the price is high."
"If one wishes to work with another team or large number of users at a future point, he must purchase a license for them."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"Cortex XDR is a costly solution."
"The price of the solution is high for the license and in general."
"I don't like that they have different types of licenses."
"We have purchased licenses for the use of Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Plus. The price of the solution is reasonable but could be better."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Plus is pretty average, meaning it's not cheaper, but it's pretty good. It has average pricing."
