Proactive synthetic monitoring has reduced major incidents and provides global user experience insights
One thing that is not available is the multi-factor authentication feature concerning monitoring any applications. If an application depends upon MFA for its login flow, Catchpoint doesn't have the ability to bypass or monitor that flow for multi-factor authentication. This is one area where I would like to see improvement in the tool because many applications nowadays use multi-factor authentication, and Catchpoint does lag a bit in providing the end-to-end synthetic observability for applications dependent on MFA. This is one of the major areas needing improvement. Otherwise, Catchpoint has been one of the greatest tools in the synthetic monitoring or digital experience monitoring space, and I don't see anything else right now, but MFA is something that certainly needs some improvement.

Monitoring has provided factual end‑to‑end insights and supports proactive incident response
From using HPE Aruba Networking UXI, I have access to real numbers for latency, packet drops, and other metrics. We also have a pretty intensive alerting mechanism that works on specific IPs for all our sites that are pinging, so if they are not reachable, we will have an alert and an incident created. I assess the value of HPE Aruba Networking UXI's application visibility in enhancing network performance as great. HPE Aruba Networking UXI's remote troubleshooting capabilities help me manage my distributed networks in a great way because we are not relying on user input. We are relying on real facts from HPE Aruba Networking UXI devices that are placed end-of-line on all our factories.

"They only lose two points for the cost; otherwise, the insights they provide are really good."
"The solution offers three different ways of slicing data to look for abnormalities."
"During business hours, it has worked absolutely fine without any issues."
"There was definitely an ROI with the use cases I have had; when you see that the network issues and trouble tickets that are opening start to decrease, that is where your ROI starts coming in regarding productivity."
"HPE Aruba Networking UXI's remote troubleshooting capabilities help me manage my distributed networks in a great way because we are not relying on user input and are relying on real facts from HPE Aruba Networking UXI devices that are placed end-of-line on all our factories."

Cons

"Currently, Catchpoint is migrating to a new user interface. My colleagues and I feel that the old user version was better, it was more user-friendly."
"There are essentially a lot of quotas. Nobody wants to sit and manually create monitors for someone who uses synthetic monitoring."
"My experience with pricing, setup effort, and licensing with Catchpoint is that it is not the cheapest product."

"One thing that is not available is the multi-factor authentication feature concerning monitoring any applications."
"Catchpoint can be improved by focusing solely on network monitoring."
"The price and licensing are very, very high. They have to come down on the pricing to match with the industry standard."
"Trending needs improvement. Currently, out-of-the-box, they provide only seven days availability. So, we have to do queries and we have to go into a separate analysis module, we have to run lot of queries to long-term trends."
"Areas where the HPE Aruba Networking UXI can improve include the integration of SD-WAN and security in a single solution."
"Some manual administrative tasks still need to be triggered manually, leading to lower efficiency."
"It would be beneficial if the tool offered a less expensive subscription as it is currently costly for our clients."
"They could improve their services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is based on consumption and works on a point scale. For example, let's say I want to look at www.google.com, and I'm going to test it to see if it's there. It will bring back all this data that tells me how long it took to connect and how long it took to get the first byte. It will list all the resources on the page, showing that they all work and there are no broken links. It brings that data back. That test has an assigned point value depending on what you decide to extract from that test. If all I do is check to see whether it's available, it might be one point. I don't know the exact point values off-hand. This is just an example."
"The price and licensing are very, very high. They have to come down on the pricing to match with the industry standard."
"The solution's pricing varies based on services and licensing models."
"The solution's pricing is comparable to the last tool we were using."
"In terms of licensing fees, I believe they were slightly higher."
