Find out in this report how the two Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI.
Files.com saved our time and our resources.
I have seen a return on investment using Files.com over other methods, saving money and time.
We have seen a return on investment, as our average time saving per week, when looked at across the whole year, saves us an average of 24 days in the whole year from a work perspective, which is equivalent to a saving of £19,000.
The customer service rating is a ten out of ten, as they are pretty quick and accurate in supporting technical issues.
The documentation is incredible, and their willingness to expand upon existing features or implement new features based on requests is an incredible value.
Files.com's customer support is excellent, second to none.
For the cloud environment, they had taken only 16x5 support, but for the on-premises, they had taken 24x7 support.
From one to ten, the scalability rating is a ten.
Since starting to use it, it has been growing with us, managing increased connections and data payloads effortlessly.
Files.com's scalability is very easy to manage, as they have child domains or child sites within the main site that I can expand on the fly without needing any technical support.
The scalability of MOVEit is not an issue; it scales up easily to handle large volumes of data when customers need to transfer it.
Files.com is pretty reliable, and we have not faced any downtime or any bug.
It maintains 100% uptime.
As far as uptime and reliability, it has been excellent.
I have not faced any downtime or outages with it anywhere.
The server sometimes becomes unresponsive or crashes, causing MOVEit jobs to fail and generating multiple tickets.
We were hit by malicious malware attacks in the last two years more comparatively.
Some UI functionalities, including file automations, could have a richer set of commands for scripting improvements and better visualization for building automations.
My third concern is that I now need to cancel it and no one has replied to me, and they've just charged me again, which is annoying because I wanted to be able to cancel and you cannot cancel within the platform.
The features you want to have, such as 24/7 premium technical support or data security standards, are included in their costly packages that need to be subscribed to.
Improving SharePoint connectivity usage, which has limitations, would open up considerable usage and enhance MOVEit significantly.
If I have to pull a task report for a specific requirement such as its history and task attributes, the report doesn't come in a CSV format, which is consumable.
We would also want to add new capabilities, and incorporating artificial intelligence could be useful as well.
I think the pricing is fair, the setup cost was very easy, and licensing allows me to choose a larger number of user accounts to receive a discount.
Regarding pricing and setup costs, they have been favorable for our size, with minimal setup involved since it is a SaaS-based system, and licensing is straightforward and easy to manage.
I thought it was a very fair price, and we've been there three years, ready, eager, and excited to sign up for another three years with an increased license count, which I think is going to increase by 200.
The encryption, decryption on the fly, live links and inboxes stand out as great features.
When I say technical support is phenomenal, I recall when I was first evaluating Files.com and was not yet a paying customer; I had a couple of really good thirty-minute tech support phone calls or Zooms from some of the different tech people at Files.com while setting it up on my AWS server to receive files from my clients.
The biggest use case is integrating with S3 as either a mount point or a sync point so that file gateways can present those files to systems that use SMB/CIFS shares on a Windows environment.
When files are placed in the transfer server, they are completely encrypted, and even administrators with access to the storage service cannot identify files due to different IDs.
MOVEit encryption features protect data during transfer.
The file transfer utility of MOVEit is most user-friendly and easy to understand.
