Integrated asset and work order management has reduced errors and simplifies hospital operations
I find every feature of Hexagon EAM to be the best for me because it decreases time and minimizes paper usage, including the energy management system that integrates with other flow meters allowing all data to be viewed on a single screen. This feature was introduced in 2023 and is known as Equipment Overview 360, which is particularly valuable since few applications offer such a feature in EAM. My clients utilize energy meters, some manual and some digital, in conjunction with Equipment Overview 360, which helps them gather data more efficiently, monitor it every second or every five seconds, and view their historical data over the last three to four years, making data management significantly easier. I consider features such as Equipment Overview 360, energy management, work order management, permit to work system, and especially the case management system introduced in 2017 for one client to be very valuable. We adapted Hexagon EAM for health and safety, incorporating case management capabilities with root cause analysis and fishbone diagrams. Hexagon EAM is not only about work order management; it also includes asset management, as seen in the hospital sector where we manage around 35,000 active assets and 250 plus labs using Hexagon EAM for asset management, work order management, and store management in one of my clients.

Integrated planning has improved production scheduling and now reduces downtime and costs
The biggest friction point I have run into with IFS Cloud Platform is user adoption, which has been the biggest challenge, as different users in the organization need to get accustomed to the new processes after years of using spreadsheets and legacy systems, requiring training and a mindset shift, along with challenging data migration and process standardization. My advice to someone considering IFS Cloud Platform with a similar workflow is to spend sufficient time understanding and standardizing their business processes before implementing it, as the technology is very powerful, but the real value comes when processes, data, and teams are all aligned. I would rate my overall experience with IFS Cloud Platform as a 9 out of 10.

"What I appreciate the most about Hexagon EAM are its robust features."
"My advice to others who are considering implementing Hexagon EAM is to implement it, that it is a good product, that it is a product totally adaptable to each of the clients' needs, that it has a lot of potential to grow if they finally want to get the most out of it."
"Hexagon EAM has positively impacted our organization; it was our first project, and after go-live, it resulted in huge success, with the client satisfied and thrilled, cost reductions around 30%, labor utilization increased by 20%, and new users adopting the systems, appreciating the product, and eager to work in those systems."
"Hexagon EAM has positively impacted our organization by significantly lowering costs."
"Hexagon EAM's traceability is impressive, making it easy to maintain historical data, perform root cause analysis, and complete fishbone diagram reporting."
"I find every feature of Hexagon EAM to be the best for me because it decreases time and minimizes paper usage, including the energy management system that integrates with other flow meters allowing all data to be viewed on a single screen."
"The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience."
"A high level of ERP can be handled in IFS."
"The best feature is the maintenance module, which is essentially an industry-specific workflow designed with a manufacturing module as per industry standards. It's very precise and specific without having complex functionalities. It's straightforward. Field Service Management is definitely a wonderful product that IFS has developed because it caters to field services. The energy and utility sectors can answer their business needs using the software."
"We could quickly understand what was going on and what the customer wanted to do."
"Our client has benefited as follows: Reduced transaction time, better visibility, easier tracking, more control on business and automation, and better agility with the ability to move swiftly as times and market conditions change."
"The main reason for the ERP project was to bring together our fourteen sites, which had until then worked in separate silos."
"Having a young talented programmer, during the six years of use, we were able to save around 75 000 EUR preparing simple modifications using customization rather than ordering them in IFS / Partner."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users."

Cons

"Hexagon EAM can be improved by rebranding from HxGN EAM to APM, Asset Performance Management."
"The stability of Hexagon EAM has been good, although it can be a bit slow when handling a lot of data."
"I think Hexagon EAM can be improved, particularly regarding the application slowing down or certain modules being unavailable at times."
"One thing I believe could be improved in Hexagon EAM is the scheduling function, as it can seem daunting at first to those who are not comfortable on a computer, compared to our previous asset management system, which had a better and easier-to-use scheduling module."
"Customers have noted that engaging with the Hexagon technical support team can be a lengthy process, especially with the on-premises version, where sharing logs and receiving resolutions is time-consuming."
"Adding more columns to existing objects is very hard, and I need to create custom tables and link them to the existing tables, which makes coding very challenging."
"There are certain digital features that need to be incorporated, such as IOP."
"The product requires heavy administrative work."
"I'm a business analyst, so I do a lot of customer-facing work. I take calls from businesses I have to troubleshoot. One thing that bugs me is the error messages you get from IFS. If I get an error message, I have to dig to find the cause because, often, the error message doesn't precisely describe the problem. It'll hint about where the problem lies, but you have to work to find the root cause. It doesn't help in my situation. You expect an error message to point to the field or what is causing the issue."
"The solution's reporting tools still require improvement."
"The solution's initial setup process was complex...The technical support my company receives from the implementation partners of the solution is not that great."
"The customer service is not good as expected but we can say its fair."
"It would be ideal if, in the future, the product could incorporate IoT and blockchain elements. We'd like to explore more of these types of features going forward."
"The integration is a bit complex, and post-implementation support services need to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The product is reasonably priced."
"The pricing of the solution may appear to be expensive for smaller companies with only tens of users; however, for larger and mid-size industrial companies, IFS is able to win deals and the pricing is competitive in the market."
"Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
"IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
"IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."
"I consider it to be a well-priced solution compared to other mid-range or high-end ERP solutions."
"We pay for a license to use the solution, which is not very expensive."
"There's an additional yearly cost for support."
