Managed detection has transformed incident response and now delivers faster, focused protection
Overall, my experience with Huntress Managed EDR has been very positive. If I were to suggest improvements, I would like to see more advanced customization and reporting capabilities, particularly for MSPs managing multiple clients. For example, additional dashboard customization, more granular alert filtering options, and enhanced executive level reporting would help teams present security insights more effectively to their clients. Deeper integrations with a broader range of third party security and IT management platforms could also streamline workflows and reduce the need to switch between multiple tools. Another area of improvement would be expanding automation options for common remediation tasks, allowing security teams to respond even more quickly to certain types of threats while maintaining appropriate control. These are more enhancements than shortcomings, as Huntress Managed EDR already provides strong threat detection, excellent SOC support, and an easy-to-manage platform that delivers significant value in day-to-day operations. A few additional enhancements would make the platform even stronger, especially for MSPs managing a large number of endpoints and clients. From a user interface perspective, I would like to see more customizable dashboards that allow engineers to tailor views based on the client's priorities, threat levels, or operational metrics. Another useful feature would be additional automation and authorization options for common response actions such as isolating devices, initiating remediation workflows, or integrating with ticketing systems and SIEM platforms. Overall, these would be valuable additions, but they do not take away from the core strength of Huntress Managed EDR.

Unified security monitoring has reduced alert fatigue and improves proactive threat hunting
I use real-time monitoring in ReliaQuest GreyMatter, which significantly improves my security posture. The unified interface helps reduce alert fatigue. I would estimate it saves around 20% in alert fatigue reduction. The automated threat hunting capabilities in ReliaQuest GreyMatter help me stay ahead of threats. The machine learning algorithm benefits my threat intelligence by providing deeper insights and predictions. I use various metrics to rate the success of the predictive threat intelligence in ReliaQuest GreyMatter.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is clear, simple, and easy to use. There are things that I can automate in terms of escalation, but if I want to go into the settings and play with it, I can. They provide detailed remediation steps, explaining why an issue is a problem and what steps to take."
"The most valuable aspect of Huntress is its ability to isolate legacy systems from the network, preventing the spread of threats."
"Huntress is easy to use. It immediately improved visibility and understanding of our security posture."
"Using Huntress Managed EDR has helped reduce the need for expensive security tools or to hire expensive security analysts, which is very important as we can use the money that we saved on those in improving equipment."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"My advice to others looking into using Huntress Managed EDR is to do it; it's really good, easy to manage, and a great solution."
"I would absolutely recommend Huntress to other users. If you are considering it, go for it."
"Huntress helped reduce the need for expensive security tools or to hire expensive security analysts."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter has helped us to reduce security incidents by 89%, which is a significant amount of incidents we have seen."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter saves around 60% of time or resources."

Cons

"While Huntress Managed EDR is a growing company adding innovations, one area that could improve is the time it took for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint integration, and the need to enhance detections on the Microsoft ecosystem is also evident, although I am confident they will succeed."
"The product could be improved in terms of customization options available for reports."
"One thing they could improve is evolving from an EDR to an MDR, like Blackpoint. This transition would enable automatic remediation of anything that looks dangerous, including within Microsoft 365."
"I would like to see an easier way to whitelist sites or to monitor some of the reporting that Huntress Managed EDR does."
"One sucky part about that is that they don't have a prorate. They don't reduce it for the exact number of days used. They charge you for the whole month."
"The integration with Autotask could be improved."
"I'd like Huntress to implement a component that can analyze network traffic for specific sites."
"We need an API to automatically retrieve metrics and data about backend activity so we can generate client reports."
"Areas that have room for improvement include user interface and integration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"While other options have emerged since Huntress' arrival, I believe it still offers the best value for the features and services it provides."
"It is simple. It is reasonable. They raised my prices this year. We never like price increases, but they continue to add value, so we just keep adding agents as we grow and as our clients grow."
"Huntress is priced fairly for the services and value it provides."
"The tool’s price is very good. You just need to pay for the standard license. However, you need to pay the additional cost for Microsoft Defender."
"I believe Huntress Managed EDR is fairly priced. The value I get from it in terms of peace of mind justifies the expense. You can justify it as a business expense."
"I believe Huntress offers competitive pricing overall."
"Regarding the pricing for Huntress Managed EDR, I was amazed when I heard the price; I thought it was going to be way more than what it is based on the quality."
"Huntress Managed EDR offers a fair pricing model."
