Suitable for different industries and ensures effective incident response
IBM Resilient is great in many aspects like its wide range of integrations and customizable playbooks. However, one thing to improve is how it handles data formats, which currently might require scripting for conversion to CSV before uploading. Despite this, it stands out for incident response, case management, task organization, and team collaboration, making it a strong choice for organizations compared to competitors like Demisto Palo Alto. When it comes to additional features, I think IBM Resilient is on the right track with its AI capabilities, like linking related incidents and providing recommended actions. It would be nice to see more enhancements in this area, but overall, it looks good.

Improved incident investigation has supported response while core protection still needs progress
VMware Carbon Black Endpoint does not have easy integration, as there are many complexities with the Ribitava API, which is very deep. I rate this solution overall as a five or six on a scale from one to ten. I have integrated VMware Carbon Black Endpoint with other tools that are helpful. I think this solution should be targeted at small clients, because adoption will grow more with small businesses tomorrow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"IBM Resilient is scalable."
"What I like most about IBM Resilient is that it has a complete stack, which means you don't need to use different OEM products because you have all you need under the IBM Resilient umbrella. You don't need to worry much about integrations and components because you're working with tested and proven architecture."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The UBA, User Behavior Analytics, is very good."
"The product is very good at incident response."
"Its flexibility is the most valuable."
"The solution is easy to use."
"As a whole, the product is stable...Technical support is very good."
"Carbon Black works completely differently from other products; we tested different products and Carbon Black was selected because it does not remove a virus but kills any suspect operations and lets the admin check the scenario, effectively stopping any suspicious activity based on unusual behavior rather than signatures."
"I like the historical features, interface, and integration."
"In our POC, we had 200 samples including ones that were available but not as popular and we received a 100% efficacy."
"It has improved our protection to have less false-positives, we have a greater ability to find malware notifications, and it has improved between 30-35% more than prior to our use of the solution."
"Using Open API, we were able to freely perform the necessary integration with our other security solutions."
"The product is pretty strong in terms of security and their features are very good in that respect."
"The new feature that we're deploying, the new offering from Carbon Black, is MDR, which stands for manage, detect, and response. It's the most valuable feature because Carbon Black will be continuously checking the logs, and they will be advising us on how to improve some of the policies as well as review the logs. If there are any nefarious agents or things happening on the end points, they will know."
"There's lots of very useful documentation online to help troubleshoot and learn about the product."

Cons

"The response time of the support is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The product must provide more integration with other tools."
"What could make IBM Resilient better is if IBM increased the number of built-in integrations with different products from other vendors or third-party products."
"Its price and technical support need improvement."
"Right now, sometimes it can take up to two to three months to resolve an issue, which is far too long."
"The initial setup is not straightforward or simple. It's quite complex."
"The solution is limited, but it needs lots of development, especially when we talk about making actions with other security solutions."
"The implementation could be a bit simpler."
"Performing a malware scan usually takes a lot of time, more than 24 hours."
"The product's stability could be improved."
"It would be nice to have additional forensic tools that you can build into the back end."
"Carbon Black has limited capability to integrate with Rapid7."
"There is room for improvement in the support and service team."
"The solution has to mature on container security and a lot of cloud environment security."
"Adding an application and a device control feature would be a great help for this solution."
"Needs improvement in the area of infrastructure for on-premise installation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing cost for IBM Resilient is not too expensive, but it's not affordable, so it's moderately expensive. Regarding price, I'm rating the solution seven out of ten. The company pays for the license yearly, based on the number of users. Apart from the cost of the license you need to pay for each user, you also need to spend an initial investment for the base platform. You also have to pay for IBM Resilient support."
"There are no costs except for the support services that our company pays in addition to the licensing charges attached to the solution."
"We could create unlimited users using the license we had purchased."
"There is a license you need to pay for in order to use this product."
"I feel it is an expensive product when my company pays annually for renewal, support, and follow-up."
"Pricing for the solution is good, in my opinion."
"It is very expensive."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a three out of ten. The tool’s pricing is on a yearly basis."
"Price-wise, VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is a highly-priced solution. Regarding the licensing cost of the solution, one needs to opt for an annual subscription."
"I am not really involved in the pricing of this product. But, from my understanding, it is OK for us."
"The price for the solution is completely at government level, meaning one which is very high."
"In terms of licensing costs, Carbon Black CB Defense was all associated with CROW and the services my company is using with them, so it came all-inclusive."
"The product is expensive. There are some additional costs apart from the standard licensing charges attached to the solution."
"It is more expensive, but it's worth it. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"The pricing is annually based and operates through another department than mine."
"The pricing is very high."
