Allows customization for production and has good sales, distribution, and quality management features
Previously, we were using a very small ERP called Visual Udyog. Visual Udyog is a very cheap solution. For a startup company, it's useful. It's not an elaborate ERP, but it gives at least 25% of what IQMS gives. It can give 25% or even close to 50% of what IQMS can give and at 10% of the cost. Initially, for the first five years of the company, where it has only one million turnover or two million turnover, it is enough. Once you want to scale up, you have to go to SAP or IQMS. I also worked with SAP. I would say that IQMS and SAP go hand-in-hand.

Provides efficiency for small businesses, but requires costly add-ons for broader capabilities
I am currently using SAP products but not primarily selling SAP. Regarding real-time data processing capabilities, it is partially helpful for decision-making. It has built-in capability for real-time data, but it's not interactive data analytics. People need another solution such as Power BI to be integrated to get real-time data with interactive analytics. When it comes to customizing reporting in SAP Business One, it has the capability to customize reports via SAP Crystal Reports. It has a good amount of reports, but for each business, you need to understand exactly what the customer needs to customize their reports. The solution includes a mobile app to access key business information, though it is a very weak mobile app. The main benefit SAP Business One provides to users is ease of access. It's very good to present to customers, both from the interface and capabilities perspective. It's suitable for small to medium companies, making the buy-in for the solution very good. The pricing for SAP Business One is very competitive. Overall, SAP Business One is a very good solution for small to medium businesses. If your company is looking for an ERP to run end-to-end business, this is the solution. You need specific add-ons to run in specific industries, but it's approximately 70% good for most small to medium companies. My overall rating for SAP Business One is 7 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"This solution has all of the features you need: sales, distribution, supply chain. It has logistics and production management capabilities. It has so many modules, which were integrated using our expertise."
"The graphical view of connections between different transactions is a valuable feature of the solution."
"Its usability is the most valuable. It is very intuitive and user-friendly. In terms of functionality, it has all the basic functionalities for ERP, such as CRM, sales, and manufacturing. These are the functionalities that we typically use for all SMEs. In terms of localization, SAP Business One is the best. It has got localization across all countries, which is an advantage. No other solution has such localization."
"Business One's best feature is that all the modules are integrated."
"It is well-established and caters to our user base efficiently."
"SAP Business One consolidates various functions, including production, sales, inventory, and purchase management."
"SAP Business One is pretty streamlined, with tight integration and standard best practice flows."
"The documentation part and the user manuals provided by SAP are quite comprehensive."
"Its real-time data capabilities initially provided critical insights that supported our decision-making. It effectively meets our data security and compliance requirements."

Cons

"Setup is very complex."
"It was very complex, which is why it took us so long."
"The analytics data capabilities could improve which will provide businesses with much more insight into how their companies are performing."
"There is room for improvement in the manufacturing and logistics areas of SAP Business One on AWS."
"SAP Business One could be improved if SAP creates one platform to integrate different solutions, particularly having a multi-company concept rather than having different databases. The solution could be similar to SAP S/4 Hana and the SAP Business ByDesign concept."
"The billing functionality and the integration of one department to other departments are areas that need improvement."
"The interface needs to be improved. It needs to be more user-friendly."
"The user interface could be improved with drag-and-drop functionality that it currently lacks."
"We have some problems around here, in Business One. It's hard to have separate models."
"There is room for improvement in stability."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We paid about 20% with the purchase order. Six months later, we paid another 20%, and then another 20% after another six months. We paid the remaining 40% after 18 months."
"I rate the solution's pricing a six or seven out of ten since it is expensive."
"The licensing cost for SAP Business One is affordable, and I'd rate it as four out of five. The license covers the software, the configuration, and the services, but if you want technical support, you'd need to pay for that separately."
"I rate the price of SAP Business One a seven out of ten."
"If you are in the US or Canadian the costs of SAP Business One could vary per license, it can be anywhere between $2,000 tor $5,000."
"The price of SAP Business One is not comparable to other solutions. SAP is a well-known brand, and its price is on the higher side. However, if the solution offers the right fit for an organization the price is not a major concern for those who choose to use it."
"SAP Business One is a cost-effective solution. The price is good and we pay for a subscription annually."
"We pay annually. It is around 800 a month."
"The product's license is expensive. It could be cheaper."
